All tools have font, style support and improved table displays Delivered as "CbB Tools.zip" containing a readme.pdf and "cbb tools.exe" As noted in the OP the zip is available from my Google page. Existing Launchpad users should copy "CbB Tools.exe" into their existing Launchpad folder. Other may copy "cbb tools.exe" into any folder such as "c:\program files\cbb tools". The readme has a little more info on install. Any questions? Please post them in this thread. thanks Some sample images follow

  9. I got exactly this issue this morning... I totally forgot that I'd added CbB to my firewall list. Once I disabled the firewall rule, everything was fine. I've let the other devs know about this issue, as it's a bit confusing to see the login screen, but then get a failure message.

  13. After registering the type B, you also get a 40% off coupon and a coupon for getting the "type A" for $19 (similar name, but it emulates the encoding stage of a Dolby A NR instead of an Aphex machine). Note: after using the coupon for type A, the 40% off coupon disappeared from my account, it may be an "either" deal.

  19. Meant to evoke the experience of going for an evening drive in a classic British sports car, Racing Green uses green buttons and arrows, with brown and gold accents. It's a darker theme, meant to be easy on the eyes at night. It's green, the greenest you've seen, never was a theme so green, except for Green Glow. Thanks to @Colin Nicholls for the Primer and use of his Browser folders image, thanks to @Matthew White for the bright red buttons that indicate my FX racks are disabled. Thanks to both and all for inspiration and assistance. It uses the alternate convention of a keyboard to indicate a Synth track and a keyboard/MIDI sandwich to indicate a Simple Instrument track. Why it's the other way 'round from the factory is beyond me. There are also some things meant to ease confusion about such matters as "does that button mean PDC is off or on?" The state of something being enabled or disabled should be clear. If it's turned off it's either visibly darkened, red, or has a red line across it. If it's enabled it will be lit up, usually in green. It also uses my dark theme convention of selected clips having a dark background so as to better see the data within. Unselected clips revert to displaying their standard backgrounds (or as you choose). It's my first custom Cakewalk theme, Racing Green. Let me how you like it! UPDATE: the Racing Green folder now includes an optional custom color preset file which may be imported and extends the customization, including greater visibility of grid lines in the Piano Roll View. Update: 5/18/2021 Added images for Meter/Key (and related) dialogs, minor image changes and recoloring Update: 5/24/2021 Redesigned arrows and buttons, replaced EQ grids, many other small art changes

  22. For buses, there's a short cut I added for the Korg nanoKONTROL series, that might work... Holding "loop" down, then pressing "8>>" should switch to buses; holding "loop" down, then pressing "<<8" should go back to tracks. If this doesn't work, you can try checking "Use Scrub+Bank Down/Up to select Tracks/Buses" in the control panel, and try using the ICON NANO's scrub button instead of loop. There's a bunch of other commands that use the loop button as a "shift" key for various functions, but as the ICON NANO only has one channel, I'm not sure all of them will work ( BTW - "Cycle" is just another word for the "loop" button): For plugins, according to the manual: Plug-In Assignment: Plug-In = Select a channel, then press Plug-In. Next press Plug-In Assign to view the selected channel’s inserts 1-4 on the LCD Display. Turn the Encoder Knobs to add/select plug-in effects. Press Plug-In Assign to confirm. Turn Encoder Knob 5 to access insert 5 on knob 1. Press an Encoder Knob 1-4 to edit the selected plugin. Parameters appear on the LCD Display above track 1-4. Turn the Encoder Knobs to edit the lower parameter, press the Encoder Knobs to toggle the upper parameter. Turn Encoder Knob 5 to access further pages of parameters on knobs 1-4. Press Encoder Knob 5 to return to viewing inserts for the selected channel. While a plugin is open: Bypass = Toggle Plug-In Bypass Compare = Toggle previous plugin parameter settings

  24. Unfortunately there are a couple things missing in CbB for work like this - noise reduction (removing a static background sample from a track), and loudness matching. Another option *if* you have a program that can run batch files (for loudness on files) is to split the audio in the obvious places, then do a "Save As..." on the CbB project and select "Create one file per clip" option in that dialog box. All the clips you split will then appear as files in the Audio folder. If you run a batch on those and keep the same names, when you reopen the CbB project again, they will show that adjustment (and probably more tweaking). In some cases, a few "soft" compressor passes (no heavy-handed settings) will work at that point, but this is also where noise reduction comes in... if that original file has enough noise in the quiet parts, a compressor is going to raise noise levels too, so the editing might become obvious. Noise reduction should be done first if possible.

  37. I have nothing to compare it to, but i have a Rivera rock crusher. Super fun toy but i don't take it out. I wish I'd gotten it ten years earlier. I enjoyed looking at all these other options. I don't need cab Sims... I could do those in the box if i wanted to. I never use more attenuation than minus 20dB. I don't like being able to hear the guitar strings over the amp. When i get that low, i use headphones. I really never go direct to the daw without micing. I need the practice with the Mic... Finding good placement. The richness of a cranked up tube amp can't be beat.

  40. John Suhr would explain it much better than I. The simple explanation is that the impedance curve of the Suhr Reactive-Load is nearly identical to a 4x12 with Greenback speakers. To my knowledge, there's no other reactive-load that's more accurate (in that regard). The OX impedance curve is (IIRC) based on a 2x12 and not as accurate (an approximate curve). Not sure what the Two Notes Captor-X reactive-load is based on (speaker wise), but it's also more of an approximate curve. Two Notes IR loading/capabilities are far more advanced than the Suhr Reactive Load IR. The Suhr is limited to running a single 1024-sample Cab IR. Two Notes allows running/mixing two Cab IRs... each up to 4096-samples. Cab IR loading is pretty spartan in the Boss Waza TAE. 1024-sample Cab IRs capture about 22-25ms (depending on the sample-rate). Longer Cab IRs capture a little more low-end.

  41. Eventide has always used iLok, IIRC. Most people who do music production have either iLok License Manager or a Physical iLok dongle, because so much requires it. If you're the type of person who's been using mostly freebies, iLok may seem shocking... but, copy protection is pretty run of the mill for commercial audio products. I honestly don't know how most people can get away without having at least the Soft iLok installed on their machines 😛 Companies with some of the best plugins on the market routinely require the physical dongle, as hardware copy protection is a lot harder to crack than software. This is why Steinberg requires the physical eLicenser for Cubase Artist/Pro (which hasn't been cracked since v5). For those companies, not using Physical iLok is like you renting an apartment and the landlord requires you to hang the keys on the outside of the front door. The world doesn't revolve around our comfort. Businesses have survive and pay their developers, and not everyone wants to exploit piracy to proliferate itself (like FL Studio, REAPER, etc. have/do). iLok protection is optional for iZotope. You can also use Machine Licenses and store it on Disk or in the Registry. Wrong. You can contact support and get those licenses reset, or be issued a new license for them. This is a solved problem with iLok, Steinberg, and other eLicenser solutions. No difference if you lose or break your dongle; or it's stolen. The guidance is clear on the website, and everyone should familiarize themselves with it, if they use any plugins or software that utilize iLok. Typically, you have to contact the software vendor, IIRC, not iLok themselves. But personally, my stance is that if you don't use a plugin/software often (more than rarely), then you're better off deactivating and uninstalling it, anyways.
