  2. Sound Forge Pro 15 is now out. I just installed it, upgrading from version 14. The upgrade is probably not too important unless you work on AudioBooks and things like that, but it seems to be well-behaved so far. You may want to use the /NOVSTGROVEL flag when you open it to bypass VST scans, as per: https://www.magix.info/us/support/article/bypassing-of-the-vst-scan--1511/

  4. Also, for those that don't know, you can deconvolve other reverbs with MConvolutionMB. I used it to create some impulses from GlaceVerb, so I would be able to recreate some of those sounds in my hosts that don't support 32 bit plugins.

  5. Hi all, I installed the MFreeFXBundle and upgraded for 6€ the complete bundle. Used my credits (10€ for newletter) and additional coupon MELDA65031591 That's a real no-brainer. Thank to all to pointing me to this great offer. Frank

  6. It is nice that so many people are not forgetting Terry. Of course, I keep checking hoping to see Terry has posted. If he does, let's all agree we need to figure out a way to celebrate.

  8. I would like to recommend to anyone who hasn't upgraded their FreeFX Bundle that they snap this up. Especially if you can do it in conjunction with the other first-timer discounts. If it's your first purchase with Meldaproduction, there are 2 ways to get extra savings: while you're setting up your account, sign up for their newsletter, which gets you 10 euros to spend any way you like. When you make your purchase, use my referral code, MELDA1923165, which will knock another 10% off the order (I'll also get credits for 10% of your order). These discounts also apply to any other first order from them. Since the FreeFX Bundle upgrade is now going for 20 euro, this scheme would make your eventual cost 9 euro, or $10.73. There are 37 plug-ins in the bundle. If you have the FreeFX Bundle, the upgrade lets you use the plug-ins' preset manager (and download community presets), scale the UI, use upsampling, and access the multiparameters and custom modulators screens for plug-ins that have them. The plug-ins in the bundle that I use often, and which I believe to be at the top of their class at any price, include MTuner, MEQualizer, MCompressor, MStereoscope, MLoudnessanalyzer, and MMetronome. If the tuner by itself cost 9 euros it would be a must have. It's polyphonic and has a pitch-to-MIDI convertor. I also use MOscillator and MNoisegenerator when I need such utilities for testing. Many of the rest also see occasional use.

  13. To my ears, this plugin doesn't surpass ReValver's version and even, somehow, doesn't feel right. Too bad, as I had high hopes when this was announced.

  15. I dismissed it last time it was on offer as merely being a plugin-chainer, but I demo'd it and found it to be so much more. I have been waiting for it to go on sale so I'm a very happy bunny today. It will pretty much replace plogue bidule for me as a quick and easy way to route my hardware synth midi and audio, and to be able to more easily bring plugins into that mix. The midi routing is really nice as can very easily map midi channels, filter event types, setup splits/layers and transpose notes.

  22. +1 to Steve's summary. Brian, I'm not sure why you get nothing though. IMO Melda is one of the most customer-friendly companies out there. You do get credit for each product you own in a bundle, they make their discount strategy clear, upgrades are free for life, bundle users get new products for free, and the top-tier complete bundle really is complete. They offer a subscription but it's really rent-to-own with no overhead (but consider waiting for a sale on the bundle and paying upfront). The free bundle is quite good even if you don't upgrade but especially if you do. They even have a low-income discount for countries where purchasing power is low, which I've not heard other companies do. Too bad the functional and dense GUIs are a hurdle for some. I keep meaning to use more of their stuff. Contrast that with a push toward "stop paying and lose everything" subscriptions, upgrades that only take one product into account, heavy leaning into price discrimination (new users get soaked, wait a year and it's 75% off), $50 vouchers that aren't practically good for much, loyalty vouchers with one tier in particular that is impractical, loyalty points that can go negative (disloyalty points?), expiring downloads, pay for re-download, upgrades that cost more than the original plugins, WUP, ... I know that I shouldn't complain because lots of this lets deep discounts actually happen and keeps companies afloat, and it's a tough market, but it's nice knowing that Melda's surprises will only be good.

  23. Hah! I was just going to post about this and your reply popped up. Good timing. Yes, I was able to get a discount. A huge one. I own MAutoDynamicEQ. I can get the Essential bundle for $19. On sale it's $119. So they are giving me $100 U.S. off for already owning their dynamic EQ. To be honest, I'm only really interested in the MAutoVolume plugin. It also has MAutoAlign. They are two awesome plugins. I haven't used MAutoAlign in a while and thought I owned it but I must have used a demo because it's not in my account. For $19 bucks this is a no brainer.

  24. Poor Bapu. Because of his dodgy hearing he has spent all these years not realising that what he was actually offered were farm labouring opportunities to dye a sheep and haul some oats.

  26. I decided to revisit the blues with this little instrumental. Once again had the pleasure of playing with Dave Sharp (Hammond C3 and Leslie as well as the bass) and Larry Rose (drums). Guitar once again was the Kemper direct into the DAW. I think that it came out really well. It was great fun putting this together. Hope you enjoy! Cheers Peter.

  30. Well before I jump on the Nembrini, I’ll have to try the Revalver, which is a new name on me. The Vox AC30 holds a special place in my heart from pub gigs back in the very early 80s. Bought one secondhand for maybe 100 quid and the next day got a red letter from the bank saying they were suspending my cheque guarantee card! But that amp served me well 😂

  32. I'm happy with a custom order tube preamp (Trakhmann TubeColour). I don't record guitar or bass without it, because it makes guitar sound so much better regardless of AI preamps. And for reamping I send DI (recorded with the TubeColour) via DBX DI-box to outboard gear (tube amps, preamps, pedals, floor multi-fx). If any of my tube amp is used, I normally connect its output to the AMT PE-15 and send line level signal back straight to my AI, or mic cabs, or both.

  34. @SoundwiseI missed that your sole interest is in the dry guitar input. Without a doubt the Little Labs Redeye 3D Phantom is the very best DI I have used ($290 at Sweetwater). That being said, IS IT "head and shoulders" above what you are already using? Also, this is the 2nd generation of the "Redeye" (it is now a "mature" platform, but some had to "buy twice" IYKWIM). The only downside is that it is not available in a "500" model (when it is I will surely be one of the first in line). I don't own more DI's than guitars (I'm ashamed to say), but I got a bunch (too many, of both). If I was simply interested in using only Amp Sims, I could get by with the instrument input on the UFX interface. I have a Radial X-Amp for re-amping the signal and the Redeye does that as well. HTH, t what are you currently using?

  35. Sounds like you moved the volume slide on the keyboard while recording and this gets recorded as a CC event. Open the event list and look. Uncheck notes and look for volume events

  39. Man, if I had a bigger budget I'd absolutely buy this. It sounds really nice. Of course, the fact that Simeon is such a good player really makes me appreciate this library more -- when he gets lost in a library he loves I always seem to enjoy the journey. Even really good libraries in the hands of YouTubers who play poorly can detract from a good library, so Simeon's talent makes his videos so much more enjoyable. But this library sounds so appealing to me. I need to stop watching! It's way too tempting.

  46. I got a reply from them last week. There is a problem with the Vermona Random Rhythm module for Modular along with the PC modules. While their suggestion (disable Open GL support) did not fix the problem and I told them so, there was no indication they did not support CbB or the PC format. I figured out why my Saturation PC module was OK. I have an older dll for the Saturation plug-in in my PC module folder. When I renamed the old dll, the plug-in broke like the other PC modules. This lead me to a (hopefully) temporary solution for the rest of the Softube PC modules. Here is what I did - excluded the VST2 plug-ins in the plug-in manager installed the previous release of the plug-ins copied the VST2 dlls into C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Utilities\Internal ran a scan and validated the PC modules worked ran the latest installers ran a scan and validated the VST3 plug-ins worked with the PC modules
