  1. I guess I posted this song a few years ago on the old forum and I've reworked the mix and some instrumentation in this new version and I'd thought I'd make it my first post in the new songs forum. Let me know what you think! https://www.bandlab.com/kevinwal/angry-girl-05473 Updated: We'll I've re-worked the mix, trying to take into account the great feedback I've gotten. The same link above should take you to the new version. I've fixed some things that have always bugged me about the original mix and there are other things that I'm unsure about, so I'd appreciate just a little more of your ear-time and comments on what's there now. Thanks again for everyone's great comments!

  2. This song took me months to finish, mostly due to being busy doing other things, but the long gestation period really made it better than what I had envisioned originally. http://dancumpian.bandcamp.com/track/after-the-snow Hope you enjoy the listen! All comments and suggestion are always appreciated. Dan

  3. I still have it AND a TX802. Both remain two of the best synthesizers ever for MIDI guitar. I do miss some of the Ensoniq synths, too. My EPS and ASR-10 were stolen...at least I still have the EPS-M rack unit.

  4. One of the new forum features as opposed to the old place is the 'Like' button (the heart shaped icon at the bottom right of each post) which replaces the need to quote and reply with "+1" when you like something. Keeps forum clutter down.

  6. One Theme with 4 different versions with slight differences to choose from, differences between them are explained in the note. Free Download and note here..... 'M-Spec' Cakewalk Themes A combined total of around 150 hours, sometimes much more, goes in to creating each Theme I make, then there's more time spent to update them whenever BandLab makes changes or additions to the Cakewalk GUI to ensure any changed or new items display correctly and match the Theme, I also don't make all these Themes for myself, it's more of a hobby and to share the end results with the Cakewalk Community for their use and enjoyment at no charge, Any Tips/Donations via the following link for my time and efforts in creating and updating these are greatly appreciated, however small. 7. Not really sure where this would go, but from the choices I have, it seems that this is the most appropriate: I have a number of projects that I'm still working on in Cakewalk by Bandlab, so I wanted to see how my Presonuns Faderport 8 would work there. I created a Blog post about it and thought it might be a useful overview for some people who might be considering a control surface like this one, especially considering how it might work in a non-Presonus DAW like Cakewalk. Please check it out here: https://www.blades.technology/music/daws-sonar-and-studio-one/presonus-faderport-8-with-cakewalk-by-bandlab

  8. I hope you all had a great Christmas and that Santa brought you all the musical toys you wanted. I'm taking a break from my diet and indulging myself with all the goodies and sweets that come with this season. I just hope I don't wind up in a diabetic coma.😋😃 I've been reworking on a project I created 3 years ago for my Mom who I lost in late 2015. I really didn't want to remix it per se but I wanted to convert the project from a hybrid (audio & MIDI tracks combined) to all audio WAVs. I took up the practice of doing this on all projects but hadn't adopted it yet in early 2016 when I created this, so it did turn out to be a small remix but is still very close to the original. I call this piece "Lighthouse" because that's how I remember my Mom. She always had my back no matter what kind of mess I found myself in and she never failed to bring me peace whenever my nerves were frazzled about something. I may have posted this when it was new in early 2016 but I don't remember, so I'll present this as my first offering to the new forum. My apologies for the instruments not sounding "real". I did the best I could with what I had. I know you're all musicians enough to fill in any blank spaces with your imaginations. 😃John B. https://johnbowen.bandcamp.com/track/lighthouse

  9. Hi Folks I have been hanging around the original Cakewalk forum for some years but this is my first post here. Here's an original song, written and recorded by me entirely in Cakewalk by Bandlab. Nits and crits welcome.

  10. Hi all, I completed this using Cakewalk SONAR Pro earlier this year. It's my nod to the Travelling Wiburys "Handle With Care". I hope you like it, all comments and critiques welcome.

  17. GOG is giving away Soma https://www.gog.com/game/soma Description Enter the world of SOMA and face horrors buried deep beneath the ocean waves. Delve through locked terminals and secret documents to uncover the truth behind the chaos. Seek out the last remaining inhabitants and take part in the events that will ultimately shape the fate of the station. But be careful, danger lurks in every corner: corrupted humans, twisted creatures, insane robots, and even an inscrutable omnipresent A.I. You will need to figure out how to deal with each one of them. Just remember there’s no fighting back, either you outsmart your enemies or you get ready to run. From the creators of the cult classic Amnesia the Dark Descent. Spine-chilling horror that raises questions about identity, consciousness and existence itself. Mixes stealth, exploration and puzzles into a coherent narrative experience.

  19. Thanks, everyone. I had to uninstall it and re-download the latest version. Trying to update it with "run as administrator" did not make a difference. I used to be able to update with a simple click, but we'll see at the next update what gives. All set now, though, thanks.

  20. I use my DAW to write and record my own music. From there, it's distributed to the usual streaming/sales sites where it sits ignored. Floating through the internet like the ghost of your creepy uncle that everyone wants to forget... Along with a couple of original albums on the go, i've also got a dozen or so covers that i'm trying to work into an album that'll just be for me to hear.

  21. Yes I totally agree with you. My work flow stems from long time Cakewalk use (Cakewalk Pro Audio 9). There was no browser back then. Old habits never die.

  22. Hey Craig... yeah, there were some really great products launched back then. If I had the money, I would have gotten one of each of everything. I had to save up for the TX81z, JX-8P, and Emu Proteus. -- Scott R. 26. A terrific track Kevin, I loved the guitar sounds and the superb vocal harmonies, all just up my street! Do I detect a liking for Steve Miller? The track was excellently engineered as well, great job all round. John

  27. Excellent stuff, Peter! Cool progressive rock with great performances by all the players, and a cool vintage mid '70s vibe!👍 Reminded me a lot of Kansas, who I always loved and saw live four times over the years. Spectacular body of work, and top notch production skills!🙂 Have a great weekend! Bob

  30. I got these: https://online-welcome.com/product/cakewalk-sonar-keyboard-stickers/ They come with stickers for both US and UK keys. Note: It took a bit of searching to find these... most were out of date, but these ones were current for SONAR Platinum & CbB.

  31. Well, if you're gonna steal Clapton's SG, the least you can do is play some blues on it . . . which you did quite well.

  32. I use a DAW for two things: I'm in a duo. I make my own backing tracks mostly from scratch but sometimes I use Band-in-a-Box for some of the backing comp tracks. Since I play drums, bass, sax, wind synth, guitar, flute, and keys I can make the tracks in our key, and our arrangement. I make aftermarket styles for Band-in-a-Box. I sequence MIDI parts in the DAW and then import snippits into the StyleMaker app for Band-in-a-Box I'm mostly MIDI because MIDI is hundreds of times more editable than audio. But there is more than one right way to make music, and currently this is the right way for me. That could change as technology evolves. Insights and incites by Notes

  34. I use it to write songs and record for my own amusement. I also use it when practicing guitar - the amp sims I use don't allow you to use other vsts so I usually play through them hosted in CbB.

  36. While waiting for this feature to be added, Use Insert > Multiple Tracks from the main menu or right-click in an empty area in the track view track pane to get a context menu with an "Insert Multiple Tracks" option or insert on track and click the duplicate track button (next to the Add Track button) as needed.

  42. And regarding CbB, what new users probably have no idea about (and they are in for a joyful surprise) is how many Cakewalk Sonar veterans there are who are absolutely the best guys you might ever come across who will help you and support you in whatever problem you have with the CbB DAW, Plugins, VST pathway issues, Fx, you name it. They don't belittle you for your ignorance and having to ask the question several times when you don't understand, and they go outside the normal scope of the issue and don't have a problem helping you with related things (what type of Computer should I try to get?). And these guys have been around a LONG time. They know things that stymie many of us. Great, great resource of guys come along with CbB.

  46. Hello, cats and kittens. It'll be interesting to become reacquainted with some personae with new handles. I've got a new handle (although I'm keeping the "smile on the EQ" avatar), which I had been planning along with a less ironic manner. Users from the old digs would remember me as "Euthymia" if they remembered me at all. I hereby pledge to give up my favorite sport of taunting those casting doubts upon the new product's licensing model (my battle cry: "ever heard of Google Chrome?") in favor of using this new forum to help people use the software. That is, now that I stand a chance of finding people with less experience using Cakewalk than I have! (joy to the WORLD!)
