  6. I hope not! Cos I am relying more and more on small or smaller developers! IMHO they are more friendly, have better authorization, easier installation, some have better performance, a.s.o.

  10. Venture Capital and mergers are beginning to be a thing in the music software business. I do have some experience with these things in large US corporations and I worry, but I guess we'll see how it plays out. Native Instruments is still kind of Native Instruments, so hopefully UVI will be too.

  11. Omnisphere Software 2.8.5c (Version History) Includes the following features and fixes: Updates AAX plugin for native Apple Silicon compatibility. Adds "Any" MIDI channel routing option to the MIDI Channel menus on the MIXER page. When "Any" is selected, MIDI Channels 1-16 are sent to the Part (aka MIDI "Omni Mode"). Fixes issue where the plugin output could become muted after loading multiple DAW projects in a row. This fix was added specifically for Cantabile (a Windows-only Host), but the error is likely reproducible in other Hosts. Fixes note playback timing issues when Solo mode or the Arpeggiator were enabled and the host buffer size was large. Fixes issue where the "Modulate with Orb" option in the right-click contextual menu did not work. Fixes issue where the Patch dirty indicator (asterisk) could incorrectly disappear after using the UNDO command. Seismic Pump effect: Improves TRIGGER button behavior when MODE = "Triv. Inv" and LOOP is Off. Seismic Pump effect: Fixes issue with "Triv. Inv" mode where the envelopes were retriggered by incoming MIDI note events. Mac only: Fixes issue on macOS where folders/files in STEAM could not contain a backslash character Standalone app: Fixes issue where the Flow Capture feature did not record Metronome Tempo changes into the MIDI file correctly.

  12. I read it as "Clutch Free, tonewheel organ", which got me wondering how many gears a normal tonewheel organ has.

  13. Wow! I am genuinely shocked, but upon reflection I am also pleased by this announcement. In contrast to earlier seeing creatively bankrupt companies join forces to cross-market rather than innovate or support their existing products, here we have a company with the most user-friendly stance in the market (free lifetime upgrades!) acquiring a company with some of the most creatively inspiring products and soundware in the market.

  14. This indeed. I still amaze folks in MYST Online with my tale of getting the entire Cyan catalog for $10 in December 2021, and every couple of years when they put out the Vegas Pro Edit/Movie Studio/Sound Forge/Music Maker/Etc. bundle for $25 it is the proverbial acephalic expenditure for me. Of course they're only valuable if you want enough stuff in the bundle. Gone are the days I could add to my A|A|S soundpack collection via Humble Bundle because they are not likely to bundle up an assortment that contains enough that I don't already have (especially thanks to that big bundle of them that they offered a few years back). Gamers especially should be aware that not everything they sell is part of a bundle. I've gotten some smokin' deals on individual titles like Lightmatter for $5 and The Stanley Parable for $7.

  16. I was tall and quite skinny, but I played rather nasty. I grew up admiring tough players like Terry O'Reilly and Cam Neely, so I guess I modelled myself after them a lot. I'd hit guys I would have never dared go up against in real life. I was lucky - not one tooth lost, not one stitch. My younger brother would come home with a concussion or missing teeth, and he played clean hockey - -but for some reason, I got through unarmed. I eventually broke my arm in a fall, but kept playing, because, hockey... Then I fell again and made it worse. That ended my hockey "career" - not being able to play guitar made the decision easy.

  17. I played hockey (hey, I was trying to be an Olympic speed skater when I was young!) but, amazingly, I never damaged my teeth (from hockey). I did, however, have over 230 stitches in my chin and under my nose though... Not all at the same time! In fact, the last time the doctor put in 19 stitches. At that time, I may have been the fastest skater, but I was tall and very skinny so I tended to not be able to absorb checks well and found myself hitting the ice chin first often.

  20. He's known for bashing FL Studio. You eliminate a lot of potential subs. If he was working with a project involving video I could understand that frustration. Some people so it but working with video in a non linear DAW is a mystery to me. In the FL forum people are complaining about UVI being iLok and they would never buy. That decision was made long before that. Buying another developer doesn't make things better. Rare does it happen with authorization. When Izotope bought that verb company it a one license where Izotope doesn't really have a machine limit . How many of you would prefer that BFD be on iLok? (me!) Now if Image Line had only bought Waves............

  24. Also explains why Venus Theory subjected himself to FL-Studio. On the bright side. If Image-line offers the complete plug-in bundle upgrade next BF for $99 (and includes the UVI catalogue 🤓 ) I will be "in".

  25. I used FL Studio many, many years ago -- a couple of decades ago, actually -- and really liked the product, but when I stopped playing music for a time, I ended up staying with Sonar/Cakewalk and haven't followed Image Line in recent years. Hopefully, this will be good news for UVI. I own several UVI libraries, and while I don't love the user experience, it is a solid platform with some decent libraries, and I would very much like to see them continue to grow and improve it. I know that every post I've ever seen on this forum about Falcon has been very positive, so I'm definitely open to getting that at some point in the future.

  29. Hi Fabulous folk Here's a new one that my lovely other half sang. I put music to a friend's lyrics. Enjoy https://soundcloud.com/elizabeth-greenway/my-icy-heart-debz My Icy Heart Lyrics by Deborah Ellis/Music by Daryl Greenway I’m lonely in my bed tonight Wish you were here with me I want to feel you by my side Where I’m longing you to be I miss the warmth of your body The power of your touch Knowing that from head to toe I ache for you so much The minute that I saw you I knew you could take me there Your fire melted my icy heart That was in need of some repair! Many times it has been broken And you may break it too I’ll dare myself to take that risk To share the heat with you I’ve always been an icy queen That’s how I’ve always felt Now I’ve met my man of fire My icy heart will melt I cannot wait to see you again Can’t stand being on my own I’d rather melt my icy heart Than spend my nights alone. I'm lonely i my bed tonight

  30. New Jersey is split in half to the NY(north) and Philly(south) media markets. I was born and raised rooting for all things Philly(which was only 15 minutes away). I want the Eagles to win andI don't care if it is good and/or competitive if they can win the game .... a close game is stressful! 🤪

  31. i found a similar issue with the FET compressor -- works fine as VST but crashes in PC. based on the debug info it seems to be a UI sizing / ratio issue -- the VST UI is ratio is differernt -- quite large and wide whereas a PC version of a UI (for other VST / PC plugin without an issue) the size may be different, but the ratio is the mostly same. so, there may be an issue with resizing or there is no PC UI in the plugin -- or both...

  34. The sparkly chime melody is a pleasant happy wisp, which fades away as swells of lower register bassy synths come to overwhelm it. Yours is a tone poem built of musical language, and the first reference I thought of was J.S. Bach. Best of luck to you and yours, sir.

  38. I ordered the $5.99 Win10 Pro upgrade. Got the license key, followerd @Starship Krupa upgrade guidance, including doing a system restore before stating the upgrade. Win10 Activation screen accepted the new license key and I started the upgrade. Seemed to all go smoothly, but somewhere around the middle of the upgrde process I got a crash and a message that the upgrade ran into a problem and the changes made were being reversed. So about 15 min later, I was back to my normal Win10 environment. I checked the Blue Screen utility and the system crash was there but no simple clue as to the nature of the problem. So I'll hold on to the upgrade key and since I am considering a newer PC, I would expect it can be used on that Win10 standard version. Bottom line... The upgrade key was accepted by Microsoft and the upgrade program ran for about 15 min before the crash with the status messages indicating all was going well. So I feel it's a valid purchase.

  39. Joining? They invented it. All IKM products require the full download of the product no matter which tier you buy. It makes it easier for them to let you "test" other gear and show you what you don't own on a regular basis. Even something as simple as T-Racks is an over 2 gig download if I'm not mistaken. I don't have an Iphone or Ipad, but I'd love to know how much the ToneX app takes up. I asked a friend to download it and his device didn't have enough room to download it.

  45. Steve, I've enjoyed this song for some time, and the last time I heard it, I had different monitors. Your singing and lyrics give this song soul and depth, as they're very convincing. The video just goes so well with the song, which shows your growing skill in video. All in all, a good package! Should you decide to remix, I suggest a bit less compression on the master which might de-emphasize other issues. I look forward to hearing more!
