  4. I love that site, one of the first sites I visit everyday, that and another 3 which I think were mentioned earlier on in this thread, and may perhaps be related, AudioProductioDeals Plugin Resellers Price Check Music Software and Plugin Deals The Cakewalk Deals Sub forum is fast becoming irrelevant to me, no offense, it's just easier to find what I want or am looking for at these other sites. If anything I look at it as a silver lining to Larry's departure, probably would never have bothered looking, or finding/trying these other sites otherwise. Awesome. 👍

  5. Well, this was annoying and broken in SPLAT which created a lot of issues for many. Now, it works perfectly as it was intented to work in sonar, but never got to be fixed. Like the above member said: It is now a fully working quick group function that are multi-functioned with sweet benefits to it. Not a stupid idea at all. If you had spend more time trying to figure this out, you wouldve noticed the ability are still there for a multi view pane. It just make more sense to have a single pane view anyway. Bandlab caters for all. Making workflow more streamline. Thousands of bugs that sonar had (like those you've mentioned) were fixed by Bandlab developers who happens to be the old team of Sonar anyway. Wait-What?! Would you look at that, who would have known?

  9. Ben is a one-man band. He comes up with the ideas for his libraries, plays and records the instruments, and codes it all. I imagine he does the graphic design too. Super nice guy too. Simeon and I got to talk with him when we did that podcast with him. If you like Ben's stuff this is a no-brainer. And he is one of the very best people making libraries these days.

  16. Black Rooster Audio: NEW FREE PLUG-IN RO-GOLD VINTAGE PLATE REVERB https://blackroosteraudio.com/en/landing/ro-gold Introducing our newest free plug-in: the RO-GOLD vintage plate reverb. This physically modeled plug-in captures the true tone of a solid gold plate reverb, turning any signal into 24k magic. The most luxurious and exclusive vintage room effect meets modern-day features for the highest-quality sound and optimal usability. With only a few, simple-to-use parameters, it has never been easier to achieve an authentic vintage reverb sound. Gold Plate Reverb RO-GOLD A brief history The RO-GOLD was faithfully modeled after an iconic hardware classic, and upgraded with a 24k gold plate, for the most luxurious vintage reverberation experience. Our plate simulation approach allows us to authentically capture the analog unit's sound and feel as closely as possible while still including a few unexpected twists - all in the beautifully designed, easy-to-use package that is the RO-GOLD. Engineers have experimented with foil and metal plates to reproduce expensive reverb rooms since the 50s. However, installing and controlling a real metal plate reverb has never been easily attainable, nor has it been readily available to every producer or small studio - especially when it comes to real gold plates. As it often happens, this type of hardware remained exclusive to a select few elite studios for a long time. Nevertheless, plate reverberation is audible in many 50s and 60s hit songs, where engineers extensively used this technique. Not only does the RO-GOLD bring you the sound of these sought-after hardware classics, but it also captures the true tone of a solid gold plate, which would cost millions to recreate in real life. This 24k gem allows you to set up your own retro room sound, that is both warm and mellow. With only a few, simple-to-use parameters, it has never been easier to achieve an authentic vintage reverb sound.

  17. I take it there are no Acustica Audio users in this thread, who seem to take a perverse delight in applying their expertise in convolution technology to their UIs. Authentic emulations of actual gear brilliantly disguised with artistic re-interpretations of functional states. And manuals to go with it. ... had the same issues with the FX/PDC buttons but sorted it out pretty quickly with a little RTFM. However, visual state indications were not "intuitive" for me and with a bit of forum exploration discovered the Theme Editor, which imho is an underrated but well appreciated solution here. Improved productivity with zero impact on core functionality/reliability and another first world problem solved.

  21. Yes, all the cute young waitresses treat me like a friendly uncle. (Not that kind of friendly, either) The bikini babes that come through don't give me a second look (or actually a first one). I had my days in a road band, playing singles bars, and eventually opening concerts for major stars. It was fun but I'm very comfortable and happy with Mrs. Notes. So when the bikini babes walk by, flaunting their youth, they are pleasant to look at, but there is no way anything more than a glance by me is going to happen. On the other hand, I get to play music for a living, the audience is having fun, I'm having fun with both the audience and Mrs. Notes, the scenery is beautiful, and after 3 hours of fun, we go home with money in our pockets. Life is the perfect way to spend the time of day. Notes ♫

  25. This is call quick groups. You can adjust multiple track's parameters by holding ctrl while adjusting that parameter. This works for many parameters, not just level This is single lane controllers. This view can be reverted back to multi controller lane by heading to PRV menu - Vew - Show Multiple Lanes Note: I am the opposite. I use many controllers in each MIDI track. Multi controller lane view made these hard to work with (each land was too narrow). In fact, I only updated to Sonar Platinum when single lane controller view were introduced. I have only ever used Single Lane Controller View in PRV. I could not even imagine going back to Sonar Platinum for MIDI editing.

  26. I'm running the latest CbB version 2022.06 Build 034. On my Laptop (WIN 11 Pro) and my Studio PC (Still WIN 10 Pro). However, Windows Program & Features shows my Cakewalk Programs as (see pic) I'm curious why this is the case. Could it be that Windows is showing the last full build (somewhere in the vicinity of 550MB) and the numerous updates since (about 50MB) not registering as full installations with Windows. Following along with the file sizes of each update file, this would seem to make the most sense still as each release has a incrementing version number its odd that Windows doesn't update the information.

  27. I own and would recommend Sospiro Strings. If you can wait for a sale, you can save at least 30%. But even at its regular price, it's a bargain. I'm watching for his cello library to go on sale next. I'd suggest watching this YouTuber's video below to learn more about two of Ben's libraries to figure out if they're a fit for you. The YouTuber, Corey, does the most honest and non-shilling review videos you'll find in this space. He got my attention when he called out a developer's drum library as fatally flawed and said he told the developer about the problems with the library, but the dev refused to fix it. I know of no other YouTuber in this space that has that kind of integrity. I have nothing but respect for the guy -- this from someone who's led affiliate marketing at a major brand, wrote about, had a major book deal that encompassed that area and has a very good handle on the mentality of YouTube reviewers (most are just shilling for free products and affiliate sales dollars, whereas the most popular ones get $$$$ up front). Corey is the antithesis of the shills. If you're a dev with a problematic or subpar library or plugin, this is the last guy you want reviewing your product. That's exactly why I'm a fan. The only criticism I have of Ben's libraries is that they can be heavy on your machine, so I suspect they could be better optimized. Hopefully, at some point, that will be addressed.

  29. Hi. If you have a question, your title should be more specific like: "Is this mic any good?" You might also consider reducing your pics to 1MB or so and posting them within the same thread instead of creating a new one for each pic. You can also post about gear here & here. Hope this helps.

  30. To get audio recorded in the track receiving the sound you arm the track to record and then hit the record button. Then that track will record the incoming sound as audio. Sounds like it is working right for the overheads but still not routed right for the rest of the instruments. If you checked all the inputs for the tracks maybe check the outputs in the ad mixer section for each instrument.

  41. Your memory serves you well. @Colin Nicholls was the first themer I saw actually improve upon the iconography by doing things like this. Matthew White deserves mention for making his FX rack bypass buttons less ambiguous. I think a couple of my themes might still be using FX bin bypass buttons I swiped from Matthew. If you check out any of my themes, they all have less ambiguous buttons wherever applicable. Colin got there ahead of me on most of these things. My upsampling button toggles between "1X" and "2X." The "Pre" buttons for sends in my Console View toggle between "Pre" and "Post," and so on throughout the program wherever I could find something. It started with using the "MIDI jack stuck to a keyboard" icon for Instrument tracks, which are....a MIDI track bound to a synth track. The stock themes use the plain "keyboard" icon for that, which is just plain backward. Also weird, and potentially more troublesome IMO, is a Mix module where brightly colored buttons for Mute, Solo, Input Echo, Dim Solo, Automation Offset and Plug-in Upsampling mean "this thing is active," and buttons for Plug-in Delay Compensation and Global FX Disable/Enable mean "this thing is turned off." Colin and I took on a project to add our iconography to Mercury and Tungsten, for people who want to stick with the stock colors but still enjoy the benefits of not having to stop and remember whether the PDC button being lit up means that PDC is enabled or disabled, whether FX being lit up means that all FX are bypassed, etc. You can find the download link to Tungsten RS in my sig. Mercury RS is in Colin's. They address all this stuff, and touch up the buttons in various places to be more descriptive and/or visible. Mercury, with everything in default mode: Mercury RS, same state: Mercury RS with all FX bypassed, PDC disabled, automation read disabled, and plug-in upsampling enabled: Straightforward, eh? If it's lit up, that means it's working/enabled, if it has a slash through it, that means it's turned off/disabled. The Mute button might be considered an exception (by someone even more pedantic than I), but "bright 'M' = muted" was an industry standard before there was such a thing as a DAW. Naturally, both Colin and I think that our other themes improve upon the stockers' aesthetics as well as legibility, but if all you want is the revised buttons, check out Mercury RS and Tungsten RS. They have all you're looking for. I also have a version called Tungsten RST that debuts my new Studio One/Ableton inspired transport buttons: If that ain't enough to make you flip your lid, I also include a custom color preset that does things like make the grid lines in Track View more visible. As a general suggestion, for anyone at all dissatisfied with Cakewalk's look (if you prefer flat over gradients, definitely check out my themes), go to the UI Themes subforum and look around, ask if you like. Multiple people have put many many hours into making Cakewalk easier on the eyes. Mine are done by and for someone with vision issues. I try to make my buttons as big as possible and I like contrast. Even if you just want to amuse yourself by customizing Cakewalk a little, there are some great-looking themes available.

  44. I updated the FX, PDC and 2x buttons in my themes Lead, Gran Vista and Carbon in November last year in such a way. The picture below shows the first two buttons in themes Gran Vista and Lead respectively before and after the change. The 2x button was changed in a similar way (not shown in this image). As for the default PDC button being confusing, Noel actually agreed that it was in a recent post.

  45. I believe they are painfully aware of that. I think they want to display only the measures, no further divisions. The only help I can offer is to try some of the custom color presets that come with my themes. You don't have to use the theme, just import the color prefs. They provide for higher contrast vertical grid lines in Track View, especially on measures. They can be further adjusted to make the beat lines more difficult to see. Here's one of my dark theme color presets applied to Tungsten:
