  1. OK Doug . I can clearly see you are trying to take the high road by practicing principles over personalities . That approach I will give you credit for . I accept your amends and I will remove the thumbs down I gave you as a peace offering . all the best, Kenny

  2. This is showing how much depends on our personal taste I kind of a liked Vermilion and Creme but felt still not what I was after. After releasing matchlock I tested it and didn't like. It chopped sounds and I felt as if the amp sim was sick with whooping cough. Probably I could spend more time to adjust settings but my first impression was so strongly unpleasant I just didn't want to use it. Looking something what would impress me from the first touch. Nembrini things tested all and while bought SLO emulation (v1,v2) I didn't use it in fact as I didn't like those harshness in their all amp sims, Again, using externals cab sims I could probably be closer sound I like but having so many alternatives (and being lazy ) I prefer something what instantly can make me happy over things requiring extra time to look for something usable. Having such huge difference between opinion about sound we see clearly how important is company is delivering a possibility to test before buy to us I was gladly surprised by Overloud some time ago discovering they finally gave option to test their RIGs before buy. Unbelievable we were waiting for it so long but at last they got it that people rarely liked buying in blind just after watching their demo video.

  3. I've got all the Amplitube stuff, and most of the Nembrini/PA models. I really like the PA Fuchs Train II, but the Kuassa offerings are my favourites. The Matchlock is really outstanding for Fender styles. I have the Lancaster (AC30) and Clarrent (Orange) models as well, but haven't tried them yet.

  6. No, iLoud MTMs are not the basic iLoud. The basic iLoud micro monitors would require ARC 3. Not so with iLod MTMs. They come bundled with a calibration mic. Oddly when I bought a pair (on sale) they both came with a mic.

  12. ARC does not warn you as Sonarworks and their new sound ID does. Sienna rooms doesn't either, I believe. Would be nice for ARC to do it, but setting up a bus for correction plugins is not that hard either. It could be a nice addition to Cakewalk to let us add plugins to the hardware outputs to place these there. Just a thought.

  16. Kenny, I am sorry if I pissed you off. It was not my intent nor was I trying to play games with you. You are right, I should have left well enough alone and not responded to your post at all. Having done so, let me see if I can explain myself a bit. If what I say does not help deescalate the situation, then ignore it and move on. I have no interest in antagonizing you further. I honestly do not get off on such interactions. The "game" I was referring to was the one of doing updates. It does seem like you cannot please every one; there will always be someone who will be upset with you no matter what you do. I was not trying to be a customer service rep; in fact my comment regarding having to download the whole Amp5 when you only own one or two plugins was meant to be a criticism. That comment was not directed at you at all. All I was saying was that the install and update process could be more streamlined, and that is something it sounds like you agree with. To be honest, getting a thumbs down was kind of a bummer. My response was an attempt to minimize the effect on myself. Doug.

  18. Nice way to cherry-pick your data. You of course choose to ignore all the suits where Behringer won. I don't hear any crying from you about all the other companies who are blatantly copying other people's gear. I also don't see you mentioning the settlement: “We are satisfied that Behringer’s current line of guitar pedals is now sufficiently different from the trade dress of the famous Boss brand of pedals,” stated Dennis Houlihan, president of Roland Corporation U. S. “We have great respect for Roland and are pleased that our new line of guitar pedals is enjoying great success in the market,” commented Michael Deeb, CEO of Behringer. https://www.mixonline.com/technology/behringer-and-roland-settle-lawsuit-381972 Now what you're doing is called "moving the goalposts." "Moving the goalposts is an informal logical fallacy in which previously agreed-upon standards for deciding an argument are arbitrarily changed once they have been met. Usually the "losing" side in an argument deploys this gambit in a desperate bid to save face. If the goalposts are moved far enough, then the standards can eventually evolve[1] into something that cannot be met no matter what (or anything will meet said standard - if the losing side is trying to meet the standard using this tactic). Usually such a tactic is spotted quickly. Often, moving the goalposts is an exercise in slothful induction. The fallacy is an ad hoc fallacy and an informal fallacy." https://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Moving_the_goalposts Now, while I agree that some of Behringer's other actions are rather distasteful, that has nothing to do with any alleged theft. What I have a thing for is truth and accuracy.... So what this really looks like to me is a crybaby toddler fit about not getting your way. Along with a bit of cork-sniffing snobbery. I also find it quite entertaining, not to mention ironic, that you admit to having stolen intellectual property yourself, yet here you are trying to castigate Behringer.... Hypocrisy, anyone? All this because you went all monkey brain over my simple comment "Reverse engineering 40 year old designs no longer being manufactured and no longer covered by patents is not really "stealing." I'm done with this Monkey Dance.

"Earlier this week we were greeted with the news that not one but TWO new Steely Dan-ish records would be dropping soon, both of them live documents. Northeast Corridor: Steely Dan Live! and Donald Fagen’s The Nightfly Live are both set to street on September 24, 2021 from Universal Music." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrLKinIp3wI&t=243s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7k7d_nuhGWk&t=12s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VojIs7zuKHo&t=104s

  38. So, this is actually possible! I JUST found out by accidentally seeing it mentioned in a random post that by dragging multiple audio files from the browser while holding CTRL+SHIFT and placing into the project they are aligned end-to-end on a single track. This is apparently a long held secret by others who have not chimed in here. 😉

  41. True to my word, a very generious benefactor supplied a $25 voucher and I bought it without any demo whatsoever. I fired it up after the purchase and knew within 2 minutes it was money well spent. The clean channel doesn't stay clean for long but has a good range of chime and grit on tap in the low/mid gain range. Channel 2 provides excellent Plexi tone, I like the clarity and voicing better than say the BE100. The feedback (turned up) is nice for giving a more amp like no hold barred tone. But can be turned down to mellow things out. Crunch, Boost, and Bring add a fair deal of versitility when coubled with the other controls. I appreciate the Depth to allow various levels of "3Dness" when dealing with static IRs. The key to all of it is realism in both tone and response to playing. I'm placing it as standing among some of the better PA Amp sims and a fair amount of versatility too considering you don't expect that out of a "marshall" style amp. (though the clean channel is suposed to be in more the american vein though I'd say you woudl have to turn the input gain quite low to get the clean level of headroom I associate with "clean american" amps) . Primary critique would likley be the noise floor is a little on the high side. Of course you get this in a real recording scenario, but always makes me wonder if it isn't possible to get rid of more of it in the digital realm with these simulations.

  43. No sir. This is with the actual developers. I have been in direct contact with them and have signed agreements with the BandLab company. Thanks for the heads up though. It’s sad that this type of thing is happening. Just when myself and others start changing minds about Cakewalk.

  44. First of all, I'm glad you enjoy the book! As to the status of an update, unfortunately that won't happen unless BandLab gets behind it in some way (putting it in a Cakewalk Store, advertising it in the magazines they own, or whatever). Books take a lot of effort, and if they don't sell at least several hundred copies a year, they're not worth doing. Although it sold very well back in the day when Cakewalk put it in their newsletters and such, it's only sold about 8 copies in the last year. But you never know - I hope that someday, BandLab will open a Cakewalk Store so people can get their hands on all the cool stuff that used to come with Platinum. A revised version of the book could find a home there.
