  2. You didn't miss much. Fleer still hates WUP, Pavlov still writing TLDR missives on marketing, Abacab still pitching in with all sorts of wisdom nuggets, and Bapu is still buying and installing everything.

  5. For the past several years I have been doing more and more with software synths and I've seen problems with those (non-responsive to program changes), but I seem to recall all my sound modules switched without incident when I last used my hardware synth module stack. I am curious now. I have one sound module currently connected to my Audio PC and will give it a try. Did a quick test: usb keyboard to CbB to 2x2 midi interface to Sound Module. Incoming MIDI data led lights up with note data and program change data. Realtime notes play, but realtime program changes don't change presets. I verified that "Receive Program Change" for all channels = on. AHA!!!! MIDI Driver Mode has been switched to UWP. I always use MME. Will switch that back and retest. BINGO!!!!!!!! Program Change commands now work. To switch MIDI Drive Mode (in case you want to try it), close your project (otherwise the UWP/MME box is greyed out. [P]references (Advanced) > MIDI > Playback and Recording > Driver Mode. IIRC there are a few other things that can syphon off / filter out midi commands. I have legacy gear, so MME has consistently worked better for me than UWP. Different people have success with different modes. If you search the forum for UWP, you can see what others say (UWP v. MME).

  9. Past experience shows that the longer the time between updates, the more stuff (or the more in-depth stuff) the update includes.

  10. There have been three beta releases this year. Combined, they include about 30 bug fixes and some nice enhancements. I can't talk about them per my NDA, but they're going to be very welcome additions. Some old favorites from SONAR days will be coming back, so everybody who came onboard after SONAR's demise are going to get some new goodies. But even you old SONAR guys will smile when you see the new version.

  19. I really had a scream in my vocal booth to really test it, this song was about testing, only spent a week on it, few hrs a day. I also had a play with XLN Audio addictive keys which i got free and its very good tone with lots of flexibility. First time i play my Jazz box for a couple of years, not really the right song for it, but it has a lovely tone.

  21. I recorded this cover last year but struggled with mixing it until this weekend, where I was fairly happy with this mix (I don't know much about mixing and mainly do things by using my ears, so I'm sure there's a lot that can be improved, but it's much closer to what I wanted then my original mix). The song has deep emotional connections for me, so I always wanted to cover it. I welcome constructive criticism, especially with regards to mixing, an area I am fairly incompetent at.

  26. the 'known' bug I'm talking about doesn't allow you to repair - as is says 'not installed' after the first download - plus the full downloads tend to be pretty small/quick. It's possible your issue is different - dunno ? - just mentioning it in case it helped Personally I've learned to live with the Double-Download issue

  36. https://www.kvraudio.com/product/crescendo-by-bjt2/downloads Bjt2 has updated Crescendo, a freeware, fully programmable VST plugin for Windows. Crescendo is a free fully-programmable VST plugin with Soundfont import. The plugin allows you to create custom VST instruments or filters using Crescendo’s complete programming language. Crescendo includes sampled/synth waveforms and FM synthesis. It also offers unlimited oscillators, envelopes, distortions, effects, and filters per layer. The Oscillators have synthesized or sampled waveforms, and the Envelope generators offer programmable shapes. You can combine Oscillators and Envelopes to create unique distortions. There are two modes; Instrument mode and Effect/Filter Mode. Instrument Mode features a MIDI pre-processing step, Layers processing step, and Post-processing step. Crescendo has a long list of features/functions, including adding global and per-layer settings for things like default filter frequency and default phase LFO for FM Modulation. Other features include Delays with or without feedback, Sample & Hold, Filters with stereo automation, and Stereo image manipulation functions.

  43. It just means some enhancements take longer to implement than others. Beta releases are still happening, so nobody's died or been institutionalized. Plus even Noel gets a day off once in awhile, or so he claims.

  44. I admit, I’ve made a couple of track icons over the years. When I have to take a break from some boring task, I find it relaxing to do something completely different just for fun. Sometimes it's track icons. Yeah, I know. Today I noticed that I had made more than 500 of them, so I thought maybe someone else might have some use for them as well. They’re all virtual instruments and in some cases preset libraries. Of course, there’s a LOT of virtual instruments out there so please don’t expect to find every conceivable VSTi or library in this collection. They are all in png format with a size of 96x96 pixels. The image files are named [Developer]-[Plugin]_cnps.png. That way they should be quite easy to locate despite the large number of files and also not inadvertently overwrite any existing track icons you might have. Some of them come in a few different variants as well. How to use them in CbB Track icons are normally placed in the folder Cakewalk Content\Cakewalk Core\Track Icons and can be inserted into a project by right-clicking on a track’s default track icon and then selecting Load Track Icon. Navigate to the folder where your icons of choice are kept and take your pick. They can be added separately to Track View, Track Inspector and Console View. Just make sure that Views > Icons > Show Icons is selected and they should turn up. You can optionally just drag-and-drop a track icon from File Explorer onto the track. Any part of the track will work as destination, so you won't have to drop it on the existing track icon. This action will also (almost always) automatically update the icon in the Track Inspector and the Console View as well. Fun fact: This drag-and-drop feature is not documented in the Online Help, nor in the Reference Guide. I simply found it out by trying. I would suggest that these track icons are kept inside the attached folder so that they are kept separate from all legacy icons that come with a CbB installation. And no, I certainly don’t have all of these plugins and libraries. Far from it. But I do have a couple of them … How to get them These icons may be downloaded as a zip file from here: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AmXDCxaGb7JEgQTra_vTlaGww6zr?e=aBShc5 Disclaimer I certainly don’t claim ownership of any of the trademarks faintly discernible on these track icons. Just in case someone wondered.

The audio tracks have issues but keeping as is, here's a new 0 fader remix (my sub died so hopefully it translates...no real video, just a little lava lamp action background for use YT release) Once again CbB worked well on this 16b project made pre Sonar 6? ...props to the bakers..hope you enjoy
