DEAL EXPIRED Karanyi Minipol Synth Plugin Reg $49 USD, FREE With Code (below) A plugin from Karanyi. I just found the deal and don't have this synth plugin already and didn't install the freebie, so I really can't comment on how good it is, but I own several Karanyi KONTAKT libraries, and they're all pretty good. I think they're a quality developer of synth sample libraries and now they have a synth plugin and the demos sound very good to my ears. To get Minipol free, put it in your cart. It shows up for $9 USD here in the US, as it's currently on saie. When you go to your cart enter the discount code blackminipol DEAL EXPIRED and the price will change to zero. The info from the dev is below along with the link to the site. - Peter "Meet our very first virtual instrument, Minipol – a powerful virtual analog synthesizer with a lot of fun and a unique Smart Random feature! Recreate classic analog keys, chunky 80s basses, kick-***** house stabs, or design massive soundscapes, modern plucks, or analog effects in no time. Quality sound engine, straightforward design, super intuitive workflow: this is Minipol, the swiss-army-knife of the analog sound. Minipol is available for Mac and Windows as VST3, Audio Unit, and standalone versions. The plugin version will run with all the major* DAWs such as Ableton, Cubase, Logic, Studio One, Reaper, and more. * Pro Tools is not supported * Logic on M1 Macs are not supported" https://karanyisounds.com/product/minipol/8 points

I don't consider this a duplicate deal / double post, since Zolton's post was in a thread about Minipol Pro. I would have completely missed this offer if you hadn't made a new topic, so thank you, Peter. Since the topics sometimes drop out of sight faster than the end credits of an average tv soap, I don't mind if some deals get posted twice. If I've seen it before, I can just ignore it. If not, I thank the poster for double posting and bringing it to my attention.7 points

Aw, after getting trolled for by a new forum member for duplicating a deal, I looked at the first page then did a search and looked at the first post in Larry's thread for a sale on the pro version of this synth for sale recently. It was bumped to page one in the time it took me to write my original post. Only after seeing your comment made me think, Zolton must have posted the deal did I realize buried in that thread was Zolton's post with the deal. Credit goes to @Zolton for sharing the deal first. I tried my best! Be kind folks. But if you're not kind at least be super funny and not mean spirited. I'm sure by sharing this a lot of folks who didn't read the other thread for the PRO version on sale and scroll down to see the free deal will notice a thread just about the free deal. (FTR, I just found this deal at VI Control.)4 points

If I were a plug-in developer, I'd recognize that since Cakewalk is free, it frees up more money for plug-ins. I'd pitch to the Cakewalk users as much as I could!3 points

IMHO.... To get the bass level correct, I would opine only speakers suffice. No matter how good headphones are, they ain't gonna have the low end of a speaker.3 points

And spoil the fun of watching progress bars advance? No thank you! That's the best part.3 points

I'm getting this! It will add a 4th license to my account. I've heard rumours that if you combine 5 licenses, it will summon Captain Clipper who will help you defeat the evil and bankaccount-draining Dr. GAS.3 points

This is Jim, someone I met through our local psychedelics group (yes, there are such things! 😁🍄🤩). He's the ex-CEO of a software company, so that's what we usually talk about when we're not chatting about our favorite fungi. It was only at the Halloween party that I found out he's a musician (we both had songs that got played during the party). This is his first YouTube video! I'm blown away at how effortless he makes things look and can't wait to ask more about his gear! This wasn't even meant to be a set, polished piece either (as you can tell by when he gets up briefly and, later, you hear a laundry buzzer go off twice five minutes apart later - lol! 😆). Now, I'm not a keyboardist, but just watching him looking away to set up the next part while he continues to play (without mistakes that I could hear!) impressed the heck out of me. I also really like the tones he's getting out of everything; especially the piano (and the Spanish guitar interlude was very nice as well). But that's just what I think, what do you guys think?2 points

"SECRET PLACES" Children will find secret places to hide out, because they need refuge and to feel free from the outside world. But there are also 'secret places' we keep in our heart... I began working on this piece in 2009 when Barry sent me lyrics about his beloved cat that had passed away, and asked me to compose the music. We completed a song called "Nine Times". I then wanted to make a new song in a more general theme and asked Lisa if she would sing. I sent her a melody made with a flute sound. She returned the vocal you hear here. I've made dozens of revisions and remakes since 2009 but was never quite satisfied. I was attempting a complex arrangement and production. I decided to try again last week, and it finally came together after 6 more remakes. I believe I've worked on this piece of music more than any other I've made. I believe all the instruments are from one my workstations, the Roland or Yamaha, not sure which. Made in Cakewalk at that time. This was made in Cakewalk by Bandlab. Hope you enjoy. No comment whatsoever. Even this really isn't a comment. Nope. Never happened. Besides, the original Larryland idea came from Fleer. So it was really Fleer's idea. Yeah, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.2 points

I've always been a bit confused by Karanyi's sales/marketing strategies. It almost seems like they calculate their sales prices by rolling three dice, multiplying any two together and adding the value showing on the third.2 points

Later 149 Euros until 21 Nov, then 299 Euros. https://www.uvi.net/ircam-prepared-piano-2 Yes another "prepared piano" library, this one claims to be the ultimate. But it's included in Sonic Pass so I have installed it and it looks quite good. The "movement" patches look interesting, different preparations can be assigned to each key so some very interesting sounding arpeggios result. The "performance split" patches also make good use of the assignment feature. The IRCAM solo instruments library was one of my favourite surprises when I got Sonic Pass, this one looks good too.2 points

did rent a simular hardware version few times, WAY better than the software but pricey. too bad ye can't put the analog ones in 'stand by' mode.2 points

I tried your recommend and after the Stretch tempo and lowering the bpm I heard problems like stutter or repeats at the sound. It seems there is an unresolved issue at that feature. By the way using "Audio Snap Auto Stretch (Follow Tempo)" function works without an issue. And it's easy to select the affected audios with the "Edit | Select | All AudioSnap/Slipstreched" function with this way.2 points
-
This is how to do it: 1. Select the Tracks/Clips you want affected by tempo 2. Open the Clip Inspector, and go to the Groove Clip section 3. Enable "Stretch to Tempo", ensuring the Original Tempo matches your project tempo 4. Change your project tempo, and the clips with "Stretch to Tempo" enabled will follow the project tempo This will however try to preserve pitch. If you want to change it from 110 bpm to 121 bpm, then stretch it as you did originally using CTRL + SHIFT + drag, but by 90.9% - i.e. ( 100 / 121 ) * 1102 points

I agree it sounds great, but $159!!!????? We know it will be $19.95 soon or even a giveaway at Plugin Boutique. But @Simeon Amburgey please do this one!2 points

For those who haven't started this one yet, I'd recommend turning off the music. They have a small selection of songs from the 40s that will just eat away at your brain.2 points

Yes, but I also think it is poor from to blame someone else for not knowing who your customers are. I'm curious where you got the "most users" bought it somewhere else stat, I've never seen that and most post discouraged the practice as it could be more difficult to get the included freebies, etc. Of course the Ipad versions are different and frankly wouldn't count them as included in the discussion anyway. What you seem to miss here is the "upgrade" price they are offering doesn't feel like a discount from what pricing used to be. $50 was the standard app price and would go on sale for $35 every few months and even hit rock bottom of $25 for a long stretch during the pandemic. It wsa only a few months ago they hiked up to $55 and now it is $70 at this new launch. Charging $41 an app doesn't exaclty feel like loyalty/upgrade pricing. The new MSRP is totally different than anything they have ever sold before.2 points

I like to go EQ > Comp > EQ again if needed. All time-based effects at the end. Also, great point by @Lord Tim, you can normally get away with cutting up to 200/300hz on your reverb/fx send.2 points

Agreed on that as well.. sometimes it's the duplicate post that I actually see that helps me get the deal.. that's not to say I don't feel bad posting dupes personally though, but that's different 🤣2 points

I have both, been giving AC/DC1(that's what I call it, every time I looked at the name I saw AC?DC, so . . . ) a good working through since release and for me the Softube comes out on top, it has more balls, and you can coax to be more 'aggressive' in a nice way, it has character where for me AC/DC1 is bland and pretty much characterless. It seems to have a 'very' narrow sweet spot, not as easy to dial in. A lot depends on what you are feeding it, I feed my stuff 90% Hard/Heavy Rock, 10% a mellower rock diet. There seems to be issues with certain things like fine control using a modifier key. Gain reduction metering is useless, seems to be just eye candy. Problems with the headroom control affecting the dry signal with the wet/dry mix. It has issues, still a quality product all in all, but for me not keeping pace with Softube. I'll use it now and then, there's probably places it will shine. just IMO, YMMV etc etc etc.2 points

FL foes deeper than most people think. It does cater more to dance genres. I'm impressed with people who use it for orchestra. That Waves Platinum will work just fine it.2 points

I wouldn’t say they’re very detailed, as they’re not that large (and the AS Wurlie isn’t either) but they’ve got this mojo you’ll love (and indeed already hear in the demo).2 points

Just wanted to highlight that I never received any impression you were critical of the AcousticSamples developer, just that you were wishing it was a Kontakt library and not subject to iLok fees & UVI Workstations limitations which have nothing to do with AcousticSamples. I also realised I was pretty much preaching to the choir with regards to the anti-piracy concerns of a developer. 🙂 I came across this thread last night where some people who had the Wurlitzer library and then tried the VReeds one felt that the VReeds one was a step up from the sampled one. It's a short thread but their enthusiasm is infectious. https://forums.musicplayer.com/topic/174999-acousticsamples-vreeds-wurly/ Oh they also talk about a forum member's own offering, Purgatory Creek, sounding very good too. Have you come across this one? Pretty affordable collection of 200A, 140B, Pianet N and Pianet T for $40. Full Kontakt required. Obviously has a different set of priorities WRT piracy 🙂 https://www.purgatorycreek.com/index.php/reed-collection-kontakt/ They also do a Rhodes collection and a Clavinet collection. You can buy the individual instruments separately, but you save on the bundle pricing. Eg $19.95 for each of the two Clavinet instruments, but only $24.95 for the two as a bundle!2 points

For the EQ and compression, it's kind of what you want to achieve with it mostly. Let's say your vocal has a lot of muddy frequencies in there, or you have a very bassy voice. If you run compression first and then EQ to fix that stuff, the compressor will be working extra hard on stuff you'll just be throwing away later. In that case, I would put the EQ first to correct any problems and then the compressor. On the other hand, if you like how the vocal sounds when it's compressed, but you think "maybe it could use a bit of air" then I'd do EQ the high end boost after the compressor so I'm not messing up the dynamics or having the compressor make the boost affect the vocal's sibilance. Reverb, definitely after the compressor, and I'd usually put it after the EQ too, although be careful of the reverb itself - it can also muddy up a good vocal sound. Have a look in the reverb plugin itself for EQ settings and try rolling off the highs and lows. You'd be surprised how much you can take out without it being noticeable, but it'll make the vocal sit in the mix a LOT better.2 points

In case no one has mentioned it elsewhere (or above, if I missed it myself): Minipol (original, not Pro) is now free, possibly for a limited time, with the code: blackminipol For me, the code was auto-added when I put Minipol in the cart,2 points
