  5. I have MPS 4.0 and upgrade to 4.1 was $299 for longest time under loyalty offers. Only difference is RX 9 standard. MPS 4.1 should’ve been free in my opinion or at very least under $80 for sure from 4.0. Today it says upgrade is on sale for $149. Izotope is cuckoo. Main point is $299 for MPS4.1 is not a bad deal.

  11. Really great song and very well done ! Has a great atmosphere, like the sum of the parts together make it even stronger. I'm not up on metal mixing, for me if the lyrics weren't written here I would have missed some of them and they are good. The vocal is great in tone and expression, as are all the parts, maybe just a little up in the mix would be clearer ? guitar slightly lower at times? Maybe just my listening space. Love the drums. enjoyed this song very much ps I have one called Babylon is Falling from my reggae band days ha.

  16. This is an excellent vid on the topic of hearing loss and how he mixes. He and I have almost identical problems caused by the same thing. I think mine is worse than his though. Overall I've lost 35% in my left and 40% in my right. He mentioned a supplement he takes and it brought back a significant amount of hearing in one ear. He didn't mention it by brand so I know he's not just trying to sell it and get a cut. I found some online and ordered it. Lots of good info and well worth a watch. He has a lot of great videos. His video about using compression completely changed how I approach it and made an enormous improvement in my mixes.

  17. Hi Everybody, This is another track for the album I'm currently working on called "The Westerly Sessions Volume IX". As always, any comments and critiques are welcome, and thanks for listening. On this one, I used the Sonitus Multiband on the drum bus - something I've never tried before. The drums are AD2. Here it is: https://www.soundclick.com/music/songInfo.cfm?songID=14341848

  19. I will be paying more attention to this now, seems it is not common at all. Thanks for the editing tips too. I also have melodyne studio which has the nice make loud notes quieter / make low notes louder feature that i think is great. I overdo saving copies of projects until the song is done so yes I do have copies of things I might occasionally destructively edit but a good point for those who don’t.

  20. Trippy! I think it's very strong, with a greeat lead vocal, and did you pitch yourself up to get the bgv's? They totally work! I think the only mix thoughts I would have would be a comparison. In the second 3/4 of the song, compare your lead vocal volume to the organ. The organ serves, the lead vocal shines. Perfect! But go back to the very first intro at the beginning, I think the organ is stepping all over your lead vocal, even though the organ is panned hard right. Too much competition? In the beginning, maybe the hi hat could use a skosh more reverb to sink into the mix. This is all so very super original. Loved it.

  24. Well here's more .02 kroners on your excellently constructed, sung, and vibed song that is super catchy . . . I listened on headphones and was always noticing that open hi hat that splashes up on the "3 and" , you might bring him down a bit. And in my headphones the bass disappears, who I think would or could be a main driver in this groove. Overall, though, very well conceived. Kind of an Emo Burt Bacharach! I dig.

  26. FWIW - In my experience WD HDD's have been the most reliable for me in the past. I've usually got close to 10+ years life out of them (depending on use), and even then, it's usually the USB enclosure that goes way before the drive itself - in which case, I just put it in another enclosure.

  27. Okay, mind blown. They have Guitar Player, Guitar World, and Guitarist as well. Thank you so much I'm sure you're not alone, but I do at least skim all of the articles. I got the free COVID year and then let it ride for another year because I get at least that much entertainment out of it, and dang, but they do have an archive of samples! A number of the CM suite plug-ins are daily users for me. ADM CM is my go-to for playing drum samples, G8 is great, JST/Boz Spatializer is my top fave stereo image tool. It's probably a lot like buying plug-ins and not using them; we get all excited about getting something new, but then realize we already have it. Processors, knowledge of digital recording methods, whatever. It's not a bad thing to brush up or get a new tip now and then.

  28. Well, if you've got S1 Pro you already have it. It didn't let me add it. I surprised you could. PS. I really need to revisit my S1 plugins! They've done a lot of work on them.

  29. I don’t have Pro Sphere and can’t figure out how to install this guy. I download and click on the installer, which then opens my Studio One Pro 5-shortly after which I get an error message saying it’s incompatible with Studio One! Never Mind- I already had this somehow, even though I don’t have Pro Sphere. Good thing it was free!!

  31. The song is really good, the mix is really good, but to my ears the drum patterns (especially the kick) are too over the top. Kind of distracting to me. If I were producing I would strive for less is more on the drums.

  36. How many Mute buttons do you need. There's one in the Track Pane, the Inspector and the Console view of each instrument plus the midi track if it's split. It would actually be a real bad idea to have one on the actual VST GUI as those are most time hidden and there would be a 100 posts from people wondering why they have no sound.

  37. I love your vocal mate, lyrics are unmistakably yours. Think it needs a bit of tidying up here an there like Jack has pointed out, and it's a little thin in places ( hammond ) ... so in my sketchbook it's not quite there yet, but I know you (well sort of) and my bet is you'll do a remix in time. Take care Steve

  38. Very inventive arrangement Lynn, lots of fun stuff flying by in the mix . . . great lead vocals, and background vocals ! It presents as R&B, but you've added some unique twists to make it a little different than the standard.

  39. Exact that was my first thought ...basically each X pedal is a compilation of all the fx we have in amplitube , so being able to fire it before let's say another amp sim or just using it as fx (xspace and vibe definitly in that scenario) could bring the experience to the next level .

  41. @Peter - IK Multimedia Please , please , please , where do the drive in Modo drums comes from ? is availlable outside ? Byt the way modo drums cpu hit is inconsistant and it's worst when gui open so my guess is last framework (for amplitube / modo / ect ...) might be something to double check on the gui side
