  5. These days pretty much most software, apps and plugins comes with the way of tagging things on their Browsers as 'Favorites' and this certainly help with the workflow. 1. Give us an ability to easily and intuitively tag plugins, instruments and etc in the Sonar Browser to create a 'Favorites" list and an easy access to display them. This will be an awesome addition to the Browser. 2. Other DAWs already displays plugin images, which we don't have in Sonar. But that is another way to easily identify the plugins especially when plugins are named creatively and/or at times in bizarre 😜 naming convention with new plugin manufacturers, it helps to identify them faster. A picture is worth a thousand words !

  6. Run Softube Central Change log for 2.5.82 (Released on April 9th, 2024) All plug-ins: • New and improved About window. • Fixed an issue where default preset recall was broken for factory presets where the original metadata had been changed. • Fixed an issue where the MIDI CC menu had an unintended text alignment until the mouse was over the text. • Fixed a memory leak when a plug-in window was closed with the Input and Output panels open. Amp Room • Fixed a rare issue that could cause Fix Doubler to fail to load when used in old Amp Room projects in an ABCD state other than the current one. Clipper: • Now loadable in the Console 1 Shape sections (in addition to Drive and Preamp). Console 1 Core Mixing Suite: • Added two new preamps, Vintage and Modern, to the Preamp section. Console 1 System: • Added support for third-party plug-ins. Currently supported third-party plug-ins: Which third-party plug-ins can I control with Console 1? • Fixed an issue that would cause sections that failed to load (e.g. when missing a license) to be lost if a project was re-saved during the failed state. • Fixed an issue where the Filters to compressor setting was not retained properly when saving a project. • Fixed an issue where some sections got the wrong color and logo in the Console 1 plug-in UI. • Fixed an issue where plug-ins loaded in the Shape section sometimes showed max gain reduction if they contained no GR meter. • Fixed an issue that caused the channel strip logo to be reset when recalling a project. • Fixed an issue that could cause an incompatibility warning for SSL SL 4000 E-Series when loading a saved project after uninstalling Core Mixing Suite. Modular • Fixed a severe issue causing some Modular modules to save their parameter values with a CV offset. Unfortunately, the projects saved with the bug (Modular versions 2.5.79-81) will be wrong even with the fix. Projects saved with the update will be correct. Affected modules are: - British Class A - Fix Doubler - Fix Flanger - Fix Phaser - Model 82 FX - Monoment Bass - Parallels - Saturation Knob - Spring Reverb - Statement Lead - TSAR-1 - TSAR-1R - Tape Echoes - Tube Delay - Tube-Tech Blue Tone - Wasted Space - Widener VCA Compressor: • Fixed scaling of the right output meter. Weiss EQ MP and Weiss EQ1 • Fixed an issue causing the frequency Hz labels to be missing in Weiss EQ MP and Weiss EQ1.

  8. It just keeps getting better and better! These guys teaming up rocks. Cream of the crop and all integrated. The way to go. They keep improving and are consistent in their support. Quality companies teaming up is so nice to see. So glad I bought in to Console 1, Volume 6, UAD ultimate bundle and Fabfilter everything bundle. The efficiency and work flow are so efficient. The sound quality and pallet is way more than enough. I really should stop buying anything else and just stay with this ecosystem even though I've bought almost every other platform and product too.

  9. You can edit/resave your existing personalized Workspaces to include the Navigator. No need to start all over building them. To add the Navigator to the Views Menu: Load a Workspace, Open the Workspace Manager, Open Views on the left side (Show in GUI), Put a check in Navigator, Save the Workspace. The default Alt+N should work. Also, the Track View's View Tab will have the Navigator Show/Hide toggle/check mark. I just took my "NO VIEWS" Workspace, enabled the Navigator View/Function as above, then used Alt+N to show the Navigator in the Track View and saved that. It worked for me.

  10. Hi folks This one is out and out punk pop fun - Ed and me threw it together in a couple of days all told. Had a lot of fun with this one The current Mrs Daryl1968 makes a brief appearance on this one Lyrics below link Nits and crits welcome No Imagination Written and performed by Ed Kocol and Daryl Greenway With backing vocals by Liz Greenway Verse 1: Always been a simple man Doing right, the best I can Eat, sleep, work. Well, that's the plan Never gone beyond a white work van Prech Fancy cars are not my style I'll never walk the miracle mile I've aways been a simple guy and I guess that's why that I've stopped tryin Chorus: No imagination Happy with my station All I wanna do Is share my love with you It's been my foundation no imagination All I wanna do Is share my love with you Verse 2 Always been a simple soul, Day by day I play my role. From dawn to dusk, I toil and strive, In that white van I come alive. Prech Chorus Bridge: I don't have to think at all Never been against the wall My world changed because of you I'm gonna see this through with you, with you Chorus

  11. Hello , years ago .. I watched a documentary about giant river fish in India. They highlighted the creamation of a local woman on the banks of the Ganges river. This had a profound effect on me .. and knowing why it was included in the giant fish show, it had even more impact. This is only about a moment in time and her passing. This song was started in Sonar 8.5 and just now brought to completion in CbB. All comments, crits and suggestions are welcomed. Thanks for the listen .. mark - Final mix - Special "thanks" to Gary Brun for the excellent mastering .. https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14761020

  17. https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/2-Effects/29-Phaser/8852-PhaseThree Plugin Boutique are offering 61% off PhaseThree by Audio Damage for a limited time, now only £11.50 / $14.58, (usually £29.95 / $37.86). The offer ends April 14th. PhaseThree is a detailed model of the MuTron Bi-Phase, with all the lovely sound of that unit (along with its foibles and quirks.) It is worth noting that, due to ageing factors, no two Bi-Phase hardware units sound alike; we found the best and most tuneful one we could lay our hands on, bought it for a faintly ridiculous price and took it apart to see what made it tick. Like you do.

  23. I'm a guitar player who loves Dave Gilmour and Mark Knopfler, and my guilty pleasure is 80s hair metal so I know a lot of solos - and this unlikely monster is my favorite. Chances are you've heard this song but NOT the solo, as they chopped off the like 80% or so on the radio version. In the video go to 2 minutes and 38 seconds and be amazed by the ferocity and accuracy of this dude's bending and his right hand technique. He was machine on this thing - and it's a long solo!

  26. I guess it’s this “ I don’t want to learn about the craft of audio engineering, I just want to push a button and get the same results a well trained engineer would get”! Achieving a balanced , dynamic mix as well as achieving a target LUFS involves listening and skill. All an AI based plug in can do is squash your mix to oblivion. It’s like those Izotope plug ins always make my mix sound way worse than I can by using my ears and knowing what to do to get what I want. I’ve been mixing and mastering music for over 40 years and I’m still learning. Best new tool for me is the You Lean loudness meter. I’ll have to test the Sonar concrete limiter and see if it is as good as the Loud Max.

  27. oh, that's just crazy talk now 🤪of course you don't simply crank things up until you think you have the balance right. you can of course "mix into" your loudness setup so you're not shearing peoples hair off from too much "sizzle" and "air" as well as creating mud... or alternate things - mix quiet, check loud, mix quiet, check loud, etc etc and of course cross-check on as many systems as you have available - mono, car, VSX, cracked-door while in the kitchen, portable usb speaker, club PA, TV, TV + surround system, cellphone speaker. etc same way the Beatles did it.

  28. going simpler - you set up a buss compressor, limiter, and loudness meter on your master - set it to get what you want, then export. probably could create a PC preset that loads that and in range within seconds.

  39. My intention isn't to rain on anyone's parade. I've spent nearly my entire adult life using PC DAWs. Started with Quad Studio (virtually unusable), moved to S.A.W. (rock-solid), and then Cakewalk Pro Audio 4.0 (first version to support both MIDI and Audio recording). For those of us who lived thru the first 30 years of PC DAW development. Waiting for rock-solid super low round-trip latency Waiting for realtime plugins And then waiting for high quality realtime plugins And waiting even further for tools like Melodyne, Stem separation, etc Why step backward 30 years? Other than ideology, I can't think of any practical reason to consider Linux as a serious DAW platform. If you want to experiment, solve problems... it can be an interesting learning experience (similar to building a Hackintosh). If you're looking for a practical full-featured DAW (including top-tier virtual-instruments and plugins), you're going to be waiting for a LONG time. I've said this many times: Linux DAWs are a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. People complain about Windows as a DAW platform... because it's so wide-open (to support many different hardware/software configurations). Linux has many distros... and for the most part, you're left to problem-solve on your own. Another thing to think about is that there's no real profit in Linux plugin development (because the market is extremely niche). Factor in a tough business economy... and risk-management. If you're the head of a software company... and you're responsible for how development resources are spent, are you going to risk your career on Linux... or go with a larger proven market (Windows/OSX)? All that said, if you're willing to live with the limitations/quirks/eccentricities of Linux as a DAW platform, more power to you.

  43. NOPE. Do you really believe the plan was not to have a viable product to SELL at some point? Of course it was. Also, nothing wrong with that-smart business! So in my opinion CW by BL has had over 4 years to come up with a sales plan. Also, I imagine NONE of the long time CW users like me (35 yrs) and many others didn't ask or care that it was free. I would have gladly paid for it. Just sayin!

  44. I know what the Style Dials are. I described them a couple of posts ago. What nobody seems to be able to tell me is what "the reported issues when trying to use [PX-64, VX-64, and TL-64] directly" are. I've used PX-64 and VX-64 myself from the point when I discovered them and posted the recipe for enabling them. I did a forum search for VX-64 issues, unstable, problems and found one post from 4 years ago where someone was having trouble and when they removed VX-64 from the project their troubles vanished, but one single person from 4 years ago doesn't make for "known to be unstable." Their issue may have been an interaction with another plug-in in the project, sometimes plug-ins don't play nice with each other. If it were "known to be unstable," why would BandLab have included it with Sonar? Even hidden, they're part of the fancy plug-in chains that make up the Style Dials. Wouldn't the problems show up when using those, too? If there are problems we should raise the flag and get the devs to fix them. They can change whatever needs to be changed in the plug-in code or Sonar code.

  47. I surprised nobody point this out. Peak level and LUFS/RMS are completely different things. Peak level can be controlled with simple attenuation or volume/ level controls. This is none destructive. Normalize takes the level to a pre set peak value and destructively renders the audio. But one tiny transient in a clip or file means the whole thing is only normalized to that one peak. LUFS / RMS are effected by peak level up to that max peak. You can turn up the audio until it’s maxed out at -.01 db and that’s as loud as it can go. Beyond that you have to apply compression/limiting. Which is none destructive. What you’re asking for is a Compressor/Limiters that is destructive. ? Mastering is an art form. It is one of the highest regarded fields in the audio industry. It’s getting easier to DIY but for best results I still highly recommend studying the topic and understanding your tools that have now been handed to the masses free. 😮
