  3. I'm very tempted. The lowest Softube Tape has been is $35 recently. I've watched it for years because of the S1 Mix Engine FX integration, but have never quite pulled the trigger. I have also wondered about these EQs as well. Unfortunately I already own Wasted Space. Hmmmm...

  8. I would use two sends to route the signal to two buses. Then, put a tremolo effect on each of the bus’s effect bin. Use a Tremolo that allows for a very specific modulation wave (In your case, 50% duty cycle a square wave set at 1/128th). Meldaproduction’s MtremoloMB comes to mind. MtremoloMB’s modulation source be any waveform you like. This modulator can also be synced to tempo.

  9. Yes. The Track Inspector has a notes panel called "Description" in the Properties tab. And each take lane has one as well.

  10. https://bogrendigital.com/products/irdx-core Bogren Digital have released IRDX Core, a plugin that breathes new life in to your amp sim, available for €39.00. Breathe life into your guitar amp sims and cabinet impulse responses. Simply add IRDX Core after your guitar amp or IR loader plugin and discover the natural movement, the 3D sensation, the slightly jagged edges, and the unpredictability you could previously only obtain by recording an actual guitar cabinet at high volumes with a microphone. IRDX Core is available to PC and Mac users (VST3, AU and AAX).

  12. @Glenn Stanton My feature request concerns the plugins that don't have a "Set as default" setting that you mention, so that you (and I, and everyone else) don't have to select a default preset manually like you describe. I'm trying to make Cakewalk/Sonar faster for us all, removing one click at a time! @Terry Kelley Yes, semantics are interesting! But the basic aim of my request was to not always have to manually set initial settings each time you instantiate your plugins, like ratio, attack and other compressor settings on your compressor plugin (and similar for other types of plugins). It's nice to immediately have a useful starting point by default, minimizing clicks. Obviously you always have to fine-tune stuff manually. Check out the Cubase and Live screenshots above. This only concerns plugins that don't have a "Save as default" settings, like those Glenn Stanton refers to. My request doesn't concern VST instruments.

  13. I own CTC-1 and I have to respectfully disagree with TheSteven in this particular instance. The Mix Engine FX are something special and add a 3D-ness that I have only ever experienced with the Nugen Stereoizer plugin. (I know they are doing different things, but these are 2 of the few plugins I've ever had where I got that "holy crap" reaction after putting them on a mix and toggling back and forth.) Unfortunately... this one comes at the cost of HUGE CPU cycles which is why I rarely use it. I'll only ever put it on at the end of a mix if I can spare the overhead. But I would love to have a PC where I could mix into this. To TheSteven's other points, I turn off the Noise and Crosstalk by default and do not understand for the life of me why we would want that to re-introduce those things into mixing. However, I do admit to using the Crosstalk a few times and can't deny the "gluing" effect. But I have also soloed tracks a few times after I forgot I had the Crosstalk on and spent stupid amounts of time tracking the "leaking audio" to that "feature". I never got the "Retro Legends" because I didn't want to spend more $$ to annihilate my CPU. I have been curious about the Softube Tape for a long long time though... As The Steven said, YMMV.

  15. It's only a pity that the operability is not so great, no mouse wheel usage, no direct value input and fine tuning is a bit coarse. As I have a choice of so many plugins I usually prefer to use the ones that are better in this area! For me this is very important, but YMMV.

  16. I’ll just add that I ended up with a second issue regarding the 2nd copy of DB33 I bought in one of my attempts to troubleshoot. It didn’t show on the iLok list and I mentioned that to Air support and they fixed it right away. So I will now declare Air Support as being actually very good. @User 905133 The Velvet is a worthy e piano with lots of good features. I hadn’t tried it for a long time but I installed it as part of my troubleshooting. I actually forgot what it was and was pleasantly surprised as I’m an e piano hoarder. Don’t bother with the Mini Grand. Unless they de bugged it. It was very unstable for me but that was 6 years ago.

  20. https://www.pulsesetter-sounds.com/product/hybrid-head-crusher/ PulseSetter Sounds have reduced the price of Hybrid Head Crusher for a limited time, now only $29.99, (usually $69.99). The offer ends January 16th. Hybrid Head Crusher is PulseSetter Sounds’ twisted version of a vintage ice shaver sampling instrument. They sampled this vintage machine in every possible way and transformed it into an epic percussive Kontakt instrument. It focuses on hybrid epic percussion, rhythms and pulses as well as twisted pads and atmospheres. These unique sounds work great for action, horror, suspense, video games and it can be customized using the included powerful note, gate and FX sequencer. The Vintage ice shaver machine was placed on a large wooden box for a large sub bass sound. Hybrid Head Crusher requires a full version of Kontakt 5.7 or later.

  21. Cakewalk by Bandlab 2023.09 Build 75 should install on a fully patched Windows 7 PC (Well patched up to January 2020) Of course there will be a warning. However, it’s just warning, not a show stopper. It should still install. Just don’t expect any support. Note, you should be using the Web installer, not Bandlab Assistant to install Cakewalk by Bandlab 2023.09 Build 75. https://downloads.bandlab.com/cakewalk/setup/CakewalkSetup.exe

  23. Yes, but the Vel+ fader can add or subtract up to 127, so it goes from -127 to +127 and resets to 0 (no offset).

  24. If I am understanding the OP, I thought of this volume envelope pattern usage. Once the volume automation on a measure or two is set, to eliminate the notes not wanted to sounded on that track - copy and paste it to the end of the track. There should be no need to delete the notes, though it will help if they are quantized.

  25. Now that you mention all this, I remember about a month or two ago (maybe more), Air Music Technology (or whatever the new name is) announced an installer/product manager kind of thing, probably to coincide with their new product line. From what I remember reading, not all of the old products were managed by the new tool yet, but they were working on it. Not 100% sure of the details, just that some of mine were picked up by the new tools and some weren't, and there was some sort of explanation about that. https://www.thempcstore.com/downloads/ https://support.akaipro.com/en/support/home Never mind. I ran the program. Only Bassline is picked up under My Products. All Software lists Hybrid 3 (which I have, is installed, and works), but the new tool will let me get an iLok code (which I already have and is registered in iLok) and install Hybrid 3. DrumSynth is also listed, but I have the older version DrumSynth500. I have a license for Velvet, but I never activated it on any of my computers. The new product manager will allow me to get a iLok code for Velvet and Download it. I don't have a license for the MiniGrand, but the new product manager will evidently allow me to get an iLok code and Download it. There are a lot of Deactivated programs that I am allowed to Download (probably trials so I can choose to buy licenses to activate them if I want). As before, none of my other products are included in listed. There is an Add Product button. Maybe someday I will be able to add my other product licenses there. Since I they are all listed in iLok and since I have them activated and I can use them on my current PCs, I will probably just wait and cross that bridge if and when I get a more modern computer. Thanks for the details you have added here.

  26. It's just addition. Creating mono from stereo requires adding two signals together. If both signals are flirting with maximum headroom, adding them together will exceed the available headroom. I think a simple solution would be as soon as you invoke a convert-stereo-to-mono command, the stereo signal's gain would be reduced by 6 dB prior to adding the two channels together into a single channel.

  27. Just to follow up, I put the solution in the first post so nobody has to wade through the muck. But just another note that in the end both iLok and Air showed signs of offering support. They kept asking for things I had already given info about so it could have been AI generated stuff. But I was impressed because it was the weekend. They in the end were of no help. It all because the Air installers are still terrible and iLok is a stupid system for authorizing plug ins, aviod it if you can. Xpand2 was the worst. here's what you have to do Air creates a folder in programs x86 called Air Music Technology . Put the compressed download folders in there and unpack them there. Now make sure to point the installer at the Air Music Technology folder during the install or nothing will work. Do not attempt to install it anywhere else.

  28. FYI; the only version that will still authorize is 2023.09.075 AFAIK. The auth servers for previous versions have been taken offline. If your Win7 is x64bit version, you may be able to upgrade and run the last version.

  32. I am torn on this. Having mist of the Plugin Alliance channel strips, as well as Softube Tape, and not to mention the stock mix fx, I don't really need more console emulations. Yet, this is tempting (despite the fact that I think Presonus should have made this a freebie).
