  1. Oi !! Lars . This is by Riot Audio not Rigid Audio. I don't know 😒
  2. https://lofiaudio.com/product/lofi-audio-vintage-resonance-upright-piano-embrace/ LoFiAudio has released a free piano for Piano day 24 in the free Decent Sampler format https://www.decentsamples.com/product/decent-sampler-plugin/ He also has other instruments available for free both in Kontakt and decent sampler format
  3. In order to get this update. You would have to steer through the problems with NA 3.9.1 Which having read on the NI forum is causing numerous issues for both PC and MAC. Matbe hold off until they sort that out.
  4. Have to say that looks a lot better then i expected it to be. Ideal if starting out, then to transition to Sonar at a later date.
  5. Doesn't seem so. Still showing on PB (they are removed quickly if withdrawn).
  6. There's a conversation on VI-Control I'm in with EvilDragon the NI wunderkid. It's Ni implimenting a new file system so it deals with individual filles that need updating and not a full ISO download (he gives a better explanation here) https://vi-control.net/community/threads/recent-ni-updates-hundreds-of-gbs.149324/
  7. https://surge-synthesizer.github.io/ Changes in Surge XT 1.3.1 Surge XT 1.3.1 contains bugfixes to the 1.3.0 release and a continued expansion of our OSC protocol support. It also provides a broader set of choices for Linux users who want to download a binary, as opposed to self-build. Open Sound Control Consolidated all the various OSC settings into a single settings dialog Added an option to set the IP address for OSC output Added a set of messages for observing and setting modulation Improved and expandd outbound messages allowing surge to work with TouchOSC Fixed an update bug where modifying mixer solo and mute over OSC would update the engine, but not the GUI Plugin Upgraded to CLAP to 1.2.0 Implemented the CLAP preset-discovery and preset-load extensions This means DAWs like Bitwig Studio and MultitrackStudio have access to the entire set of factory, 3rd party, and user presets in the DAW and can create a track with a preset loaded Restored our build pipeline to Ubuntu 18.04 and gcc 9 with a Docker image, lowering the libc requirement Applied fixes to allow the LV2 to build in CI pipeline, although we still have better behavior in most settings with CLAP or VST3 plugins, LV2 is now back in the binary bundle again Added a suite of OBS builds for various Linux distributions - this means we have nightly and release builds for Linux aarch64, ready for your ARM devices! DSP Ensemble effect clock rate lower bound clamped to avoid underflows (sound disappearing). This will result in existing patches responding differently under modulation of this parameter Feedback summation in the Ensemble effect was incorrect, so it is fixed now. This can also result in existing patches sounding slightly differently (for the better, we would say) Fixed Sine oscillator modulation of Feedback parameter crossing zero created clicks in the output Retriggering Amp and Filter EGs with modulators now properly obeys the Envelope Retrigger Behavior option in monophonic modes (Retrigger from zero vs Continue from current level) Fixed occasional crashes in Twist oscillator related to parameter uni/bipolarity Clamped lowest frequency for Twist oscillator to 2 Hz in order to prevent CPU overloads Clamped String oscillator tuning to the length of delay line, avoiding problems with very low frequencies Fixed a bug where MIDI All Notes Off message would occasionally miss a note UI/UX Improved patch comment tooltip display (in some cases text would be cut off) Favorite and Find button in the Patch Browser are now accessible and can be focused via keyboard Ctrl+click or Ctrl+Shift+F10 in the Patch Browser will open the menu listing only user patches Text input fields in Patch Store dialog, Tuning Editor and OSC Settings dialog will not keep showing the text selection range after losing focus anymore Switched time-based display units to milliseconds when below one second Corrected left/right mouse click behavior of the Tune button in Status section Created an undo entry for parameter value typeins Tuning Editor keyboard can now play notes when clicked Fixed an off-by-one error which made the Rotation page in Tuning Editor show the wrong tone by one key Changing an effect type clears modulation again (this was a regression introduced in Surge XT 1.1) Undo changing an effect type will now restore modulation as well Swapping or moving an effect will now preserve modulation mutes Fixed MSEG editor not drawing vertical lines when time was below 0.1 phase units Fixed a crash in MSEG editor after a certain scenario when deleting nodes left the loop in invalid state Formula editor now asks if you really want to close it when clicking the X button in the title bar (previously this only worked when pressing Escape key) Formula editor debugger now shows realtime parameter updates Filter Analysis window no longer focuses Filter 1 tab button upon opening Alert dialogs now respond to Enter and Escape keys immediately, without tabbing into the dialog Infrastructure Windows installer now shows a Surge-themed banner instead of the generic default one Updated clang-format to version 17 in CI Fixed a build problem with gcc7 Added a CMake bypass for the Linux 32-bit early-fail warning Added Bluetooth permission text to the standalone, fixing a crash on macOS 13 in some cases Integrated the Superparasites firmware for Clouds/Nimbus (but not implemented yet) Added guards for LV2 headless builds Be a bit more pedantic/explicit about the in-place constructor strategy with SurgeVoice, squashing a debug-only memory leak in some MSVC debug settings, but also making the code a bit more correct CLI with OSC running will now quit properly on Linux Code Refactoring and Quality Split SurgeGUIEditor menu make/show methods to a separate file Fixed MSVC stdext::checked_array_iterator warnings Improved the time taken to rebuild the SQLite patch database used for rapid searches Added a modulation edit begin/end gesture to the modulation change listener Allowed tests to build if Lua is not available Updated code headers to reflect the year 2024 in the copyright Content New patches from John Valentine Template patches now all have balanced output level to -15 dB RMS Restored some missing Formula modulator tutorials mistakenly excluded from 1.3.0 release
  8. Love my DimPro. Got it with Sonar Producer 8.5 (stayed with 8.5 till the resurrection of CWB). It will be used on almost all tracks. Some amazing pads and textures. I have Kontakt Ultimate 14 and a ton of other Kontakt instruments. But I still find something in DimPro that sits or works better on many a track. I appreciate it is old tech. But when it is this versatile who cares. I would love to see an updated version for the new Sonar. But doubt it will be.
  9. Interesting that they have gone to Kontakt. And not the Spitfire Player with this one. And yes, too expensive (for me).
  10. Auburn Sounds has updated all their plugins including all the free ones as well. Can recommend Panagement, Graillon, Lens. https://www.auburnsounds.com/blog/Routine-Improvements.html
  11. Have to agree with Larry on this. I would suggest getting any LABS you want soon. Just in case. And I'm afraid that Pianobook may also be a victim as well. I was in Pianobook from the start. And made a demo every month for them. However it has stagnated this last year also. And despite promises about new faces and plans. Nothing has happened. There have been long gaps between uploads of new instruments. What has been posted has been somewhat limited compared to previous releases (IMO). if you look at the demos of the month which used to be refreshed every month. They are currently showing ones from June last year (2023). Spitfire is obviously paying for hosting etc. And I'm unsure they have the will or pockets to keep paying for all the freebies. And from a business standpoint it may no longer be viable for them. And it was after all a CH project. And they may want to move on. I hope I'm wrong. But it has gone on too long now to see any other route.
  12. One of my favourite devs VoS has released epicClouds - a free dense reverb for large ambient effects. Available as a VST3 for Windows only. D/load in the description :https://varietyofsound.wordpress.com/blog/
  13. Annie (along with John Peel) was required listening in the 70's. Both of whom championed new artists and music (I luckily had Peel play a couple of releases of mine). And she brought a female perspective in a male dominated genre. RIP
  14. I had this today (13 day notice). It was easy to sign in to my account from within CWB. And it renewed (though there was no toast to say so). But pulling up the about confirmed it was authenticated.
  15. Cinematique Instruments have a new Xmas freebie. It's a taster of the new instrument Mad Libs. (that will go down well with our US cousins?). The freebie is at the bottom of the page and is just a taster. Needs Kontakt 5 upwards (full) https://cinematique-instruments.com/pages_instr/inst_madlibs.php
  16. Phew! I was lucky this morning then. Bought TDR Kotelnikov GE at 11.30 am (UK time) and got Dawesome Love as my freebie. Maybe 30 mins later would have been different.
  17. Well they are truly getting hammered. Have been trying to log in to my account all morning without success. Just get thrown off into a waiting room that does not progress. EDIT : Ok after a few hours I was able to sign into my account. But checkout once filled would freeze and stop functioning. So leaving it now. Too much hassle sorry to say.
  18. Here's a link to free LA2A type comp. I use the Analog Obession ,TLS, and Variety of Sound. All work well in CWB https://allthingsgear.com/best-free-la2a-plugins/
  19. That looks interesting ! Only concern is if that's the same PC he compiled this on he has visited websites his mum would not approve of.
  20. I bought something cheap last wek at PB in order to get UJAM Mellow (thought that was good). Now will have to scour the cheapies in order to get Love now 🙄
  21. I went elsewhere for my guilty pleasures. Now I just feel........dirty. I have agreed to go for counselling.
  22. Thanks John. i was uncertain to be honest (hence why I asked about the original DVD installations). Have edited my response.
  23. 8.5.3 is still on my Music PC on W10 (only because of a number of vst/I and just occasional going back into old stuff.) But projects (back to Sonar 2.0) opens in CWB no problem (well maybe some complaints about missing vst etc). But there is no comparison. CWB is so much better
  24. I got this for £1.80 this week at Pulse Audio !!
  25. I picked this up today at PB for the same price (went to PB because they also give UJAM Mellow 2 as a freebie with it). It has potential. Need to doddle with it more. But like all United stuff. Stable, and interesting UI. As stated lots of presets. And capability of randomising the s**t out of it.
