  4. The trick seems to be.. add to your cart, start checkout (without coupon) until address is added and tax is there. Then don't finish checkout but go back to the cart and add the coupon. Because the tax was added, the amount is > $100. So now you can checkout.

  6. Precise emulation of Three-band semi-parametric EQ as it was available on some vintage portable tape-recording machines. Adds a subtly saturated and warm sound. Authentic hiss simulation that can be enabled or disabled. High Shelf: to control the brilliance of your audio by attenuating or boosting from -15dB to +15dB. Mid Band: enhance the presence by adjusting the midrange frequencies (250Hz-5000Hz) and their gain. Low Shelf: control the bass frequencies or add some “boomy” low end to your audio with a +/-15dB gain control. Hiss emulation for a real emulation of the original hardware. Adapts to dark and light mode according to your OS settings or needs. Scalable user interface. Apple Silicon native support. macOS (10.13 and later) and Windows (Windows 10 and later) support. 64-bit on Mac and Windows. The first 3 macros are assigned to the *“Mini type” filter type and control the cutoff, resonance and drive (analogize). The fourth macro assigned to Chorus mix. MW for vibrato and aftertouch for pitch modulation. Beacon is free to download until January 18th, 2024.

  10. TBH I find the relentless bombardment from all directions these days from people vying to relieve me of whatever money I may or may not have with sales that more often than not aren't really sales has the exact opposite effect on me.

  16. K15 it should be around the corner, but keep in mind that the upgrade cost will double, and you will probably have to wait one year until a sale on that one. If you are not feeling the urge on this one just wait one more year. To me the sweet spot is always the first sale on each iteration, or even skip one iteration at all if there is nothing really appealing, and wait for a first sale on the next one. Been doing this since K5

  17. Since the release of 2022.06 there has been an option to use local help in conjunction/addition to the standard <Help><Documentation> menu item in the program. Local help is a preference function here: The only reason to really go to the legacy help system is if you need to compare/contrast some ancient function with what is current in the latest/last version of the program. The online help accessed from inside CbB <Help><Documentation> is actually as up to date as possible. There is also the PDF manual available (which is about 99% up to date) here: Personally I prefer to use CTRL-F to search the PDF, seems it's faster to get to the items that I want. YMMV

  18. It's Arturia, so I downloaded it right away (they make great plugins, IMO). Only afterward, I looked more closely at the landing page for the product and went through the various demos. Wow! Arturia does a great job at presenting its products in a useful manner for anyone conducting product research. There are some very useful and interesting interactive demos. Other developers can learn a lot from Arturia's approach to product landing pages. As locrian wrote above this post, it is indeed (another) great freebie from Arturia. Everyone should grab this. https://www.arturia.com/products/software-effects/efx-refract/overview

  22. Thanks for the tip. I don't get all the betas, but i need a break to play a bit and this has some things I am interested in!! I have come up with some patches I love using the random wavetable feature and am wondering what this Generate feature adds. I wonder if that means we can design modules that can safely trigger the generation of wavetables on the fly. I am not a guitarist, but I have been following the development of MGuitarArchitect. The whole NAM thing looks like the kind of thing that would appeal to some of the Cakewalk guitarists who are into modelling. Wondering if this ties in with the credits Melda offered to guitarists. I know there are many guitarists here some of whom submitted stuff. Just thought I call attention to this in case some of the guitarists here are interested in checking out the changes. Again, thanks for the heads up!

  26. F-ing taxes. Funny how $70 made me go OMG I NEED THIS and at $83 I'm like never mind. Something about $80 being close to $100 and $70 being close to $50. How easily my dumb little brain is tricked.

  27. It's a KONTAKT Player library [edit: I originally mistakenly wrote that the library required the full version of KONTAKT]. I realize that it's confusing that they call it an expansion. It doesn't require anything else. I'm in love with Wurlis and this is the only 145B I own. It was recommended to me by two people in this forum, I think it was Chris R and Bad Penguin. I did a thread about my love of Wurlis and both of them strongly recommended this library and the developer and it was a fantastic recommendation. They have a 200A that also sounds great and it comes with a Rhodes that sounds great. The only reason I didn't get that is that I already have a 200A (from e-instruments) that is really versatile. But I think Skybox's 200A sounds superb. If I wasn't watching my spending, I would definitely grab this offer. While the 200A is my only library from Skybox, it's so well done that it reflects a developer that does exceptional work, IMO. The UI allows you to easily create your own presets. The 145B is one of my favorite electric piano sample libraries.

  28. Choose whatever DAW works for you. It doesn't matter if it's Audacity from 2005, Garage Band or SONAR 6. I could have frozen time at SONAR 8.5 and it wouldn't have bothered me at all, given that that version was stable and had every feature I needed. But then, I'm a dinosaur from the days of analog tape, a time when technology wasn't the enabler that it is today. For some, having an extensive loop library is critical to their creative process. Others love the ability to treat a composition as a series of chunks that you can move around like Lego blocks. Many are inspired by tools that generate MIDI sequences or turn a one-note drone into complex polyrhythms. Whatever floats yer boat. So why does an old-school player like me keep up with the latest versions and get excited by the prospect of Sonar coming back as a mainstream DAW? It's not the major gee-whiz features, but rather the many, many little usability enhancements that cumulatively help the DAW disappear into the background. The best DAW is the one you don't have to think about. The one that doesn't intrude into your zone of creativity. So if you're already there with SPLAT, carry on and be happy.

  30. I just checked my Arturia folder and counted 10 plugins. But I only bought two of them (Pigments and Analog Lab V Pro). And that count doesn't even include the dozen or so free expansion packs. All of the freebies are as good (or better) than many of my paybies. So I'm not sure what number I'd give Efx Refract, but I'd give Arturia something close to a 10 overall.

  36. My Sweetwater card keeps teasing me, and reminding me of all those 36-48 months offers... Woke up the other day after one too many glasses of wine the night before and I was worried for a second. Found a tube amp in my Sweetwater shopping cart, but apparently, I had resisted the urge to click the "place order" button. That's my version of living dangerously I suppose.

  38. It was actually available as part of a 5-pack bundle a while ago. I had to look that up because I have it but never would have paid full price for that. Of course I don't often pay full price for anything, so that's not a jab at the product.

  39. I can relate. A little over 2 years ago I became full time remote at my work position. My office serves both as a studio and remote work office. Two separate computer systems, each with a set of dual monitors. Lunch hours often become recording sessions.

  42. A couple of years back I bought iZotope MPS 4-point-something, and they let me in for free to MPS5, which was nice, and it was a curious release where they said, look, we're giving you only some of MPS5 now, and you'll get the newer versions of some things (I think Ozone and RX) later in the year. It was kind of a cool situation because it avoided the one you describe now (I'm also in the same boat, with 14CE.). If they said buy 14CE now and get everything that's released up until 15CE comes out... like build in a year of upgrades into the price maybe...? But then again, I've been on Komplete since v9, and the longer it goes on the more I kinda realise that it's like a lump-subscription, although, as you so accurately point out, it means that people "waiting on the next Komplete" have to play this weird waiting game...
