  1. Nah. Opposite. I’m buying more stuff. Had so many friends and family die the last year or two, some younger than me, I’ve just thought ***** it…and in the words of the song …”enjoy yourself, it’s later than you think”.

  5. With Hollywood on strike, many projects have been put on hiatus or canceled so my budget is strict for new instruments. Luckily my arsenal is well stocked. And to top that off, Lifetime TV just reduced their soundtrack allotment to $5k for 80 minutes of original music. I expect other majors to follow suit shortly. I won't work that cheap, so retirement is looking really good.

  6. I've been cutting back on plugins in general not because of the economy, but because I have tons I don't use. So, the economy isn't directly affecting my decision, but it would definitely be a factor if there were more plugins I wanted to buy. As I think about it, maybe the one person who should respond to this post is the plugin king himself, @Bapu The rest of us on this forum stand humbled before him!

  7. Speaking just for myself, in the US, the price of everything has gone up. Yes, energy has gone up, but in my experience food, most consumer goods and services, and essential repairs (parts and labor) have gone up more than energy prices.

  8. Mark mentioned in a thread the other day that everything was more or less baked for the next CbB update but they're waiting on some server side stuff to be completed by a different Bandlab team. It sounds like everyone is keen to push this out

  17. I'm not really sure there even is any new stuff to talk about, honestly. From everything I've seen posted they're still at work on the upcoming products and there's some logistics to get past for the CbB stuff. Seeing Mark mention the back-end stuff, I wonder if that's got something to do with people testing Next out taking a while to get happening? It sounds like there's going to be some kind of public/semi-public beta for it, rather than the closed internal testing they've had so far (just speculating here, no insider knowledge on that either way)

  19. ADSR Sample Manager makes your entire sample library searchable with smart and custom tags. Preview any sample in your local library or purchased on ADSR without reorganising anything and audition them in the context of your track (BPM and/or key synced) using MIDI or drag audio directly to your project. New user? Sample Manager is free to download : https://www.adsrsounds.com/product/software/adsr-sample-manager/

  20. Wow, the Music Essentials Bundle alone would be a fantastic deal for that price. Even Neoverb alone would be a fantastic deal for that price. I own everything in that bundle and there's some really good stuff in there. Well, your deal was even better than mine, but both are killer. Hopefully, jngnz will get things sorted and find a similarly great deal. Between this deal, IK's Group Buy, the recent deal of IK's MixBox and the deal several weeks ago from Sonible, high quality plugins have never been cheaper. Now I just need to learn how to use all of this stuff properly!

  21. I just noticed the release of v7 of Captain Plugins Epic. The v7.0.0 installer was code signed on 27 June 2023. The update is free if you have v6, $39 if you're still on Captain Plugins v5. The VST versions load and run no problem, but I'm getting a blank GUI with the VST3 versions, so beware. I'll send a message to their support. To download the update, you'll need your original v6 email with the download link, or use the Download link in the web page footer. I did not have to reauthorize v7. Captain Plugins Epic EDIT: I am getting a blank VST3 GUI in Gig Performer. The VST version loads fine. In Studio One, the default only shows the VST3 version in the browser. The GUI opened OK, but I had to reauthorize it. Odd goings on. I think I'll clear the plugin list in Gig Performer and do a full rescan and see what happens. So my guess is that you'll have to reauthorize in Cakewalk. Can someone confirm?

  23. Which is why I will counter that statement by saying if you haven't mastered every last detail with the Gates you already own, then you shouldn't buy another one. How many times have we (guilty as charged) bought plugins before truly learning the ones we already have?

  33. MEssentialsFX gets my vote for the best bang for the buck (providing you already have the upgraded FreeFX bundle). With the discount, I guess it would be about $80. MTurboReverble alone is worth that, throw in MTurboDelay and it's crazy, add MAutoDynamicEQ, MAutoAlign, MLimiterX, MCompare, and MSpectralDynamicsle and it's the proverbial no-brainer, and then there's MTurboComple, MAutoVolume, and MSaturatorMB. This isn't a "starter kit" of their stuff (the FreeFX bundle is that), it contains their heaviest hitters. For anyone concerned about what they're missing with the "le" part of any of them, I don't believe I've done anything with the hidden features except to open them to see what they looked like. Which was "a set of parameters way over my head."

  43. They might have actually fixed this. This used to happen to me whenever I added new sample folders to an existing folder. The existing folder would be grayed out after adding the new folders and updating the library. I would have to use the above fix to restore grayed out folders. It was such a pain that I gave up on ADSR sample manager. However I just tried it with the current version and it now seems to be working correctly.
