  4. Plugin doctor demo version is actually enough to analyze single plugins If you want to mimic the curve of a plugin chain then this one is very useful. So in that sense, both are not free but free.

  7. If that's the case he probably deserves it. This is a good free alternative to Plugin Doctor and his de-noise and other free plugins are pretty decent too.

  8. According to my Acronis backup software, From one of my Samsung SSD (which clearly says SSD on it) to the WD 2 TB drive, I was getting 500 Mbps transfer speed, so I thought it was okay, but after Starship Krupa pointed out what he found did I dig deeper. Next time I'll fully research a product before posting. I apologize for any inconveniences this has caused.

  9. While Plugin Doctor has more features (and is an excellent tool), I use this frequently as a drop in alternative for DDMF's for checking out the actual EQ curves in a lot of channel strips and boutique EQs and yes it measures phase as well. Plugin Doctor is more comprehensive, but not necessarily a lot more features that everyone will use, so for many people it for sure is a free alternative IMO. This coupled with most DAWs having signal generators and oscilloscopes covers a lot of what Plugin Doctor does. For the alias police it's not and attack and decay curves for compressors and those things it won't. Although for compression there's also the free Compressor Measurement Toolbox too. I'd definitely recommend people testing this one first and seeing if there's anything extra they will regularly use beyond that and then just buy Plugin Doctor if needed.

  11. Just a quick rant about the ridiculous copy protection that companies continue to use that does nothing but cause aggravation for paying customers and does nothing for their sales, but apparently they are too inept to realize (not just Izotope) this. This also may help someone else, so I'll post it not just as a rant, but in hopes of helping someone else. I recently upgraded to the Production Suite 5.2. I already had Ozone 10 standard, so I was looking forward to playing with the Ozone 10 advanced. When I installed all the new products that came with production suite and loaded up my DAW (Reaper) I searched for Ozone 10 advanced but all that came up was standard. I was able to, however, load up the advanced individual modules that Ozone 10 advanced gives you (pretty cool) but the VST3 that is supposed to contain all the modules in one app was still showing standard. So I mistakenly thought that maybe there was a conflict between having both Standard and advanced installed on my system, so I uninstalled standard but yet again, only standard showed up. After further investigation, I noticed that most of my Izotope products were licensed through my iLock dongle but when I installed the Production suite I chose only to authorize to my pc instead of my dongle. Apparently, the pace dongle trumps my pc, and it was causing my DAW to only see the standard version of Ozone, and I can only assume that those standard VST3 files still exist somehow within the advanced installation- given I had uninstalled the standard version. Once I moved my Ozone Advanced authorization over to my iLock dongle, it showed up. Honestly, how much more annoying can we get with all this copy protection nonsense! I promise you Izotope, You are not losing customers to piracy (those people won't pay anyway) but you will and do lose customers to this copy protection nonsense for people less patient than I am.

  15. Picked this up, it's on sale for $ 19.00. I've had the real deal and this is as close as I've come across in VSTi format. Sounds really good. I do wish there was a way to limit the key range in the synth interface so you could just use it as a stack instrument. https://cherryaudio.com/news/lowdown-anniversary-sale-throughout-june

  18. I'm sure the dongle is the reason. I'd be willing to bet that if I deauthorized my Ozone 10 Standard from my ilok then I wouldn't need to authorize my advanced version to the dongle and will work fine being authorized to my PC but my point is whyyyyy? These types of glitches are completely due to copyright schemes. There are enough bugs and issues developers deal with just in creating a stable plugin, why spend the extra time and support costs dealing with this copyright crap that does nothing for sales (my opinion) but aggravates paying customers?

  19. I got a crossgrade price of only 99. Considering the few Arturia fx that I have were freebies, the price was more than fair. So far, I have one big regret. These have made a lot of plugins I have collected obsolete and I feel like I have a bunch of hard drive filler. These plugins are the truth and I have to redo a lot of templates.

  21. For the record, I have zero iZotope products in/on my iLok system. Ozone 10 Advanced (VST3) opens fine in Reaper. I've been using iZotope products for a very long time and have never authorized to iLok - don't know if that is why??

  23. It's also important to mention this plugin is not a free or cheaper alternative to DDMF's Plugin Doctor, which has many more ways to analyze audio, linear and distortion analysis, phase and so on.

  29. I suggest you try it. It's a perfect spot in your hangout room and there's access from front and back. If gear dies you can upgrade. Hope this helps.

  30. The only reason it shows up is because you’ve installed the USB driver and connected the unit to your PC/laptop via USB. If you don’t connect it then it won’t show up in CbB Instead go line out from the ME to an input on your Focusrite. Select that input in your recording track, arm it then record away. This is how i record guitar into CbB. J

  31. The only thing you would need to worry about is heat dissipation. Rack components can handle a fair amount of "pretty hot," and are designed to be stacked (a middle unit gets the brunt of things anyway). Worst case, a small fan could force air through (especially if a pass through with outer open), but keeping the face flush with the opening (max air room behind the unit) may well be enough to satisfy cooling needs. If that rack is enclosed except for the front, it is no different than laying it flat. However, if you get the idea of doing similar with a turntable, it is not advised

  38. Great song, I like a story teller tune. Sometimes I was wanting the vocal a little more in front and the reverb is a bit strong on everything. Nice work.

  39. I doubt anyone else here is as clueless as I am, but you need to go and get the two new free chord packs. They are not built in to the ChordJam update. https://audiomodern.com/chordjam-packs/

  40. This is a very nice plugin, loads of free presets. Lowest price I recall seeing. Unless your DAW can only run VST3s this is really a no brainer.

  41. Bonus tips: Folders and sub-folders - project organisation is the key to getting around a monster project with heaps of tracks and sections. The more I can fold away, the better. Browser > Notes - I have my main control room monitor where I do most of my work and I mirror a screen out to my live room where I do live instruments and vocal takes. I'll usually have lyrics in the Notes view so I can see the track view as its recording, and still have lyrics up in font of me, rather than needing any other app or reading from a page.
