  3. 2022.9 update adds ARA 2 Melodyne support and Aux I/O for easy audio routing to and from other software and hardware In terms of specs, Pro Tools Intro gives you eight audio tracks, eight instrument tracks and eight MIDI tracks. Unlike in Pro Tools | First, there’s AAX support - so you can run compatible third-party plugins - and Pro Tools Intro uses the standard .ptx session format. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCthklhp3GozCN3aeBfiGYHQ?feature=emb_ch_name_ex https://www.avid.com/pro-tools/intro

  9. One thing that's currently a bit of a drag is that you can only have a single Tonex "capture" loaded (standalone or in Amplitube 5.5). IOW, You can't have a capture of a tube-screamer... going into a capture of a JCM-800. The current workaround is to use multiple instances of Tonex or Amplitude. I certainly hope IK addresses this. I haven't yet tried the capture process. I'm a bit surprised to hear folks talking about 40-60 minutes for the training process to finish. I've done a fair bit of capturing via the Quad Cortex. It's training process takes a couple of minutes. Even that can be a bit tedious... especially if you're capturing multiple mics/positions. With an hour between "takes", you'll want to plan ahead (test recordings) to make sure you've got it right.

  10. The Pro Channel EQ is a pretty good EQ but it needs some updates to make it better. 1.Solo frequency bands (This will make it so much easier to hear what you need to eq in or out) 2.Brick wall EQ Slope for low and high cuts (The best way to completely cut off a frequency of a sound that you want to eliminate the 48 curve is cool but doesn't get everything and seeing that you can only use one EQ you have to use another third party EQ to do this action like Ozone or Fab Filter ) 3.The option to add more eq bands ( Some times I need more bands when doing subtractive EQ and run out of bands before I can finish removing what needs to be taken away and once again you only get one EQ to do this) 4.More than one EQ on a Pro Channel (requested before but hey why not ask again) I think these updates to the EQ will help alot of people out and they wont always have to reach out for third party EQ's to do these features. Please +1 the request for the Bakers to take a look at adding these things to the EQ and let us know if there is anything that you would like to add to the EQ.

  12. Hey awesome Cakewalk peeps! Here is my latest song I just made the first mix of today. Comments and suggestions are welcome, this is still a work in progress. I have not recorded the electric guitar solos yet for it and there might be some mix changes as well. I hope you enjoy this new song! Best to you! RexRed

  17. You find user Tone Models on the TONEX section of ToneNET. Indeed and agreed. It is like I have phantom pain in my foot being unable to have the TONEX stomp Tone Models in there. It is coming, though, I was just talking about this in a meeting and it is known that this should be in there.

  18. Friend does use Pro Tools, he was put off with Cakewalk because it was free and what "some" people say but he has since seen me using Cakewalk firsthand, editing midi, creating my own samples, recording and comping, my libraries and my range of plugins including the stock. Yep he could believe it. Due to it being free and so good, all the other DAWS manufacture's attack it and probably pay for people to spread bollox. Another friend uses Logic on a Mac because they like everything mac. Iv'e been giving some productions lesson and some tips, so hes like how you do that on logic and i just find they made quite a few things on logic long winded and no logical in that irony. People don't realise how good cakewalk is in reality

  19. @Antre I realize that it's frustrating when you have a problem that apparently doesn't occur elsewhere, but the truth of the matter with troubleshooting is ALL DAW's are vastly different and that a symptom that appears in one and not another doesn't necessarily shed much light on why this happens. As others have indicated there are a ton of moving parts that can lead to something like this. The proper way to troubleshoot is through a process of elimination: - Start by deleting tracks - you may be surprised to find that the problem occurs with one of the tracks. If so go further to look at the content. - Bypass or remove all plugins from the project. Does the transport still take time to start? - When you press play there are many things that happen as a part of the preroll process. One is opening and prereading to cache audio data for all the tracks. If you have many tracks (many hundreds) and there is a disk fragmentation or slow read issue this process can take a couple of seconds. Try playing with the settings in Audio | Sync and Caching. Setting a very large playback buffer can cause preroll to take longer. - Check if you have one or more plugins with huge delay buffers. If there is a large delay buffer, again preroll before playback starts will take longer because the engine cannot start playback until all plugins process initial audio. - Check if always open all device is enabled. If you have many I/Os enabled in preferences and the audio driver is slow it can take long to open the devices. - Check if Allow arm changes during playback and record is enabled. If its on depending on the number of inputs and the driver this can slow the preroll process down The above settings are the most typical reasons for lag starting playback.

  23. I found this interesting from Avid site: "Thirdly, unlike Pro Tools | First, all qualified third-party AAX plugins will run in Pro Tools Intro, opening up a huge number of paid and free plugins that you can use from the community of Pro Tools plugin developers. " People with a collection of plugins with aax versions suddenly have a usable free version of pro tools.

  25. Indeed, this. I have to confess to being confused as heck at this point regarding PA discounts. I think I was trying to stack SHMC-A and B15N. I did take a pass on the Neoverb. Nice-sounding 'verb, but I have more reverbs than I need anyway. Dang, that's a nice thing to be able to say in good confidence. To me, reverb (and saturation/distortion) is the only category of effect where its inherent character is critical to my producing a mix that I like. Compression, EQ, delay, flavors of modulation, it's more about how the controls are presented and how intuitive/flexible they are. And that is important as it affects my enjoyment of and enthusiasm for using a given processor. But they don't sound as qualitatively different as reverbs do to me.

  32. If any of you are after a great-sounding reverb and have a powerful CPU, my initial impressions of Neoverb are extremely positive. Depending on the settings it can chew up a chunk of CPU all on its own. I'm running an instance of it on a verb-send track and it ranges from perhaps 20-ish percent to over 30 percent. That said, it sounds really really good. My go-to reverb has been PhoenixVerb for a long while, and granted Neoverb probably has code from PhoenixVerb in it. I'm really impressed with the sound quality and how tweakable this is. If you have $10 burning a hole through your pocket, and you don't know what to get with today's $20 voucher, this would be a solid choice.

  34. I have been a user of CorelDraw for years. If you are into graphics and digital painting, then Painter is also a good deal. Never have really been a fan of PaintShop Pro. Adobe Photoshop Elements and Affinity Photo meet my needs well for photo editing. I bought a Humble Bundle a while back that included Painter, Aftershot, VideoStudio, and CorelCad. I think I'm set OK for things as a graphics hobbyist!

  35. Oh. Are we suppose to use these libraries once we buy them? I am just here for the deals! Seriously, I like these a lot. They sound great to my ears and in the right hands, they can bring tears to your eyes.

  36. The way it works is that the designer has two streams of reverbs (Phoenix, Nimbus, Stratos) and (R2, R4, Symphony), one set is transparent, the other is more coloured /character reverb. So R4 is newer than R2 and Stratos is newer again, expanded and I think most seem to include the main presets of the previous version. So you probably don't need all of them, just the latest one. In saying that, sometimes you might prefer the interface and given the older versions are much cheaper it doesn't hurt to pick them up anyway. I personally wouldn't pay full price for any of them. Neoverb sits outside of those streams and is a completely different approach really and has interesting controls for blending between plate, hall, spring, or something like that. Exponential reverbs definitely sound good to me. Neoverb I need to spend more time with to say. It didn't grab me as much at first, but it's different to dial in so I probably need to get used to it. I expect it will be half decent at minimum though 🙂

  37. This is actually a very good deal. I have not seen this drop for a couple of years, and Corel does this for "last year's version" to promote upgrades going forward. Painter is the hardest one to on-ramp into (except for when it appears in this promotion), and has the most expensive upgrades as well (typically $150, then drops to $75ish). AfterShot Pro has been a $20 upgrade forever (one time), and VideoStudio Pro/PaintShop Pro are typically coupled together for around $50 upgrades (each year). For those that do not own these versions already, $30 for them is a great option. With the features included in these versions you may never need to upgrade them. Caveat to this... the newer versions of Painter and PaintShop Pro are fairly memory intensive (recommended 16GB of RAM for Painter IIRC) and take longer to load than older versions (especially if you have addons/plugins), but have had some nice features added in the past couple of years. It is also recommended to have a stylus input for these if you want to get the most out of them (a mouse will do a lot of things, but the precision of a stylus will make use a lot easier, especially for freehand drawing). Quick Edit: When this dropped in 2020, it basically only included Painter 2020 and CorelCAD 2019. The AfterShot Pro, VideoStudio Pro, and PaintShop Pro were added, but CorelCAD dropped. I have actually gotten some decent use from CorelCAD from various decking projects, but got that 2020 bundle because the minimum on-ramp into Painter at that time was $225 (for someone who has never owned a copy).

  38. Hello Rogerio. I tried to use Your scripts, downloaded both files into the same directory and when I run the main script I am getting such error: What am I doing wrong? The error indicates the file you downloaded is an html document not a CAL script. The link in Rogerio's post is to an old forum post. The link to the actual CAL script is near the bottom of the post Rogerio linked in his post.

  39. THIS LIBRARY IS AN AMAZING DEAL AT $50 USD. IF YOU'VE NEVER BOUGHT ANYTHING FROM 8DIO, YOU CAN USE MY REFERRAL LINK TO GET IT FOR $35 USD. 8Dio's Anthology Strings library for $50 USD is an amazing deal, even beating Black Friday pricing. This is a library that originally sold for $699 USD and the best sale on it that I recall was for around $150 USD. There's nothing anything like this going for $50USD or even a few times the price. While I have pretty vocal in sharing my disappointment with the scripting on 8Dio's solo string libraries (I think Intimate Solo Strings and Deep Solo Viola and Deep Solo Cello could be scripted to be a lot more playable; it's not that there are problems with the script, it's just that they could have made much more intuitive scripts for those libraries) , I really like their Agitato Sordino Strings and Ostinato Strings libraries a lot and would recommend them. But for 50 bucks, it goes into no-brainer territory, because you simply can't find any string libraries of this quality for even 4 times the price. If you've never purchased anything from 8Dio before, you can use my referral link to get an additional $15 USD off, so you can pick this up for $35 USD using the below link (I'll get a $15 USD credit). http://8diocom.refr.cc/peterd Here's a review/comparison of the library by the most honest and thorough YouTuber reviewer that I know of, Cory Pelizzari. Corey's excellent. A very trustworthy musician giving honest and thorough reviews who is very candid in sharing strengths and weaknesses of the libraries he looks at. Unlike 99% of the YouTubers doing "reviews" he's not merely a shill salesmen for libraries. He can be brutal when a library has issues -- and you know after doing that, the developer of that library or plugin will no longer be sending him future freebies or offering payment for "reviews" and promoting their products.
