  1. Black Rooster Audio: NEW FREE PLUG-IN RO-GOLD VINTAGE PLATE REVERB https://blackroosteraudio.com/en/landing/ro-gold Introducing our newest free plug-in: the RO-GOLD vintage plate reverb. This physically modeled plug-in captures the true tone of a solid gold plate reverb, turning any signal into 24k magic. The most luxurious and exclusive vintage room effect meets modern-day features for the highest-quality sound and optimal usability. With only a few, simple-to-use parameters, it has never been easier to achieve an authentic vintage reverb sound. Gold Plate Reverb RO-GOLD A brief history The RO-GOLD was faithfully modeled after an iconic hardware classic, and upgraded with a 24k gold plate, for the most luxurious vintage reverberation experience. Our plate simulation approach allows us to authentically capture the analog unit's sound and feel as closely as possible while still including a few unexpected twists - all in the beautifully designed, easy-to-use package that is the RO-GOLD. Engineers have experimented with foil and metal plates to reproduce expensive reverb rooms since the 50s. However, installing and controlling a real metal plate reverb has never been easily attainable, nor has it been readily available to every producer or small studio - especially when it comes to real gold plates. As it often happens, this type of hardware remained exclusive to a select few elite studios for a long time. Nevertheless, plate reverberation is audible in many 50s and 60s hit songs, where engineers extensively used this technique. Not only does the RO-GOLD bring you the sound of these sought-after hardware classics, but it also captures the true tone of a solid gold plate, which would cost millions to recreate in real life. This 24k gem allows you to set up your own retro room sound, that is both warm and mellow. With only a few, simple-to-use parameters, it has never been easier to achieve an authentic vintage reverb sound.

  6. A couple of months ago my wife and I celebrated a rather significant marriage anniversary. I wrote this song for her in celebration and appreciation of our life together. It is very stripped down and minimalist. Only two guitars with an occasional third for a few accents. Only one vocal with the occasional harmony. Oh ya, it is not Blues or bluesabilly. As this style is a bit different for me, any comments, suggestions, crit.'s would be very much appreciated. Thanks!! A SONG FOR ALICE https://www.soundclick.com/artist/default.cfm?bandid=963481

  7. I know I am. I got all I want. I maybe want some of the Lindell new plugins, some of the Ampeg amps for kicks, but not much more. And not really excited about any of those to be honest. I just spent about 20-30 minutes looking at the current sale and my $25 voucher, and the only thing I saw that even made me think of a purchase was the unlocked Gig Performer. I can get it down to $75. But I still ain't biting. Maybe another day.

  12. Holy crap, was I beat when my head finally hit the pillow early this morning. Yesterday was a record-breaking 3-Mocha day. That's three Starbucks Iced Mochas in one day. I should have been bouncing of the walls, as I normally don't drink caffeine. We've really been gigging too much this summer, I think. The band's pretty tight now, but we're at that stage where it's all becoming rote muscle-memory. I'll catch my mind wandering mid-song, admiring a hot waitress, wondering if the forecast rain will hold off until after loadout, how I should feel about Pell grant recipients getting a $20,000 break on college tuition, and whether another Chernobyl-class nuclear disaster might be imminent. And then a brief panic when I suddenly realize that a) I've forgotten what song we were playing, b) I think I'm supposed to be soloing now, and c) how come we don't have a single jam in Am? I'll have to bring that up at next rehearsal.

  20. Great hard driving drum mix. I Really liked the lead swapping and the complementing tonal differences of the guitars. You have a Fantastic vocal range. I didn't notice any breathing sound problems at all. I never read the comments before or during a song that might influence my opinion. There are small mistakes on my own music that drive me Crazy without anyone else mentioning them. Enjoyed it .. mark

  22. Nope. There are literally just a handful of software in world of programs that actually save the video as a copy within the saved file. Again: a handful software only. Not even the film industries most popular high graphics video editors does this - for reasons such as file size issues and all the other complications that comes with it.

  27. If Cakewalk itself is logged into BandLab, and you've got an internet connection, then it'll automatically re-activate when your activation period is close to running out, or when you install a new Cakewalk update. Alternatively, you can force re-activation by selecting "Refresh Activation" from the Help menu, which will give you another 6 months.

  30. Welcome to the forum and to two of my favorite hobbies: using a computer to make music and discussing it on this forum. Curious though, "thanks for the ad?" IMO, this falls into the category of "for now" advice. The OP should take notice of the "as a rule" caveat. Also "ultimately." I'd also precede it with "technically, no, but...." The reason to use the rule/convention that Steve mentions is that it anticipates that we'll eventually mix the tracks we're recording. As you learn more, you'll discover how much smoother things go the better you are set up for the next stages of the process.. There are exceptions to the rule that you may eventually discover. For instance, when I set up a headphone cue mix using sends, those usually bypass the Master bus.

  31. So, I heard back from Waves. Clarity is not yet v14, which is why Mercury V14 never shows as "installed". This is how to get Clarity: Launch Waves Central. Go to the Install Products page and click on All Products. Open the View menu and have only V13 Plugins selected. Look for Clarity Vx and select it. Click Install. OK, but what about Waves Harmony? They sent me a link to update Mercurcy for me. Haven't done that yet so cannot report, but I assume it works. So far, Waves customer service has been spot on.

  40. Have you gone to the waves website and in your account details clicked the "get latest version" ? - it won't add the extra plugins until you do this. then you need to go back to Waves Central and reinstall/reactivate...it's a pain but that's the procedure.
