  1. I’ve made a few tweaks to the port naming logic for the next update. When friendly names are used it will no longer show the generated prefixes and leave it upto the user to name them appropriately. The I/O channels are now only shown in the menu and not in the actual port name field to make the name even more compact. (it will be shown in the tooltip) The channel display in menus now separates the channel from the port name text from the driver more clearly by using columns You can choose to display the I/O channel information as a prefix or suffix to the port names showin in the menu. Hopefully these changes should make it even more useful. Regarding arbitrary ordering of ports, while its technically possible it would be quite complicated since we already have abstraction for ports because you can already choose to disable channels that are not in use. Adding reordering on top of that would make my head explode

  3. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/search.php?s=behringer+pedal&sb=low2high You can find these prices at a lot of other places (Amazon, etc). Clone list here: https://www.tonestart.com/ultimate-behringer-guitar-pedal-clone-list/ I don't consider these 'road worthy', but in the studio where the plastic won't break to crap as easily, I've been really happy with a lot of them.

  6. For clarification, the WebView2 component is necessary for sign-in because it supports the modern web. We don't use the WebView2 runtime for anything else, nor do we install the Edge browser. Due to account authorization and product activation, not having this runtime is not an option. Thanks, Jesse

  8. We have discovered that there is a serious bug in the latest Microsoft VCRedist installer. The Cakewalk installer includes this to install various files that are required by the application. The latest iteration of this file has a bug where if you run it for the first time it works. However if you run it a second time it removes several files from the system32 folder that are used by our application and many others. The most typical symptom would be that our installer fails to register CW130Auto.dll (error code 3) and after that the application will fail to launch. Fortunately we have not shipped a version of CbB that uses this VCRedist yet. However if you install the latest redistributables manually from the Microsoft website you will most likely run into this issue so please be aware of it. Here is a thread where several people have reported the issue. Please upvote the post if you have a Microsoft account so that they escalate the issue. If you have the problem you can typically fix it by running the vcredist manually a second time.

  9. Guitar effects pedals with matching AmpliTube software for stage and studio July 15, 2021 - IK Multimedia announces AmpliTube X-GEAR pedals. Each high-performance pedal features 16 different effects, drawn from the most popular AmpliTube models and all-new reverb and delay algorithms, bringing IK's industry-leading effects out of the computer and onto pedalboards. And each pedal is accompanied by an exclusive virtual X-GEAR version of the exact same effects for use in AmpliTube 5 (SE version included). This lets users record, tweak settings and save presets back to the hardware pedal. Now guitarists can switch between stage and studio seamlessly and enjoy world-class tone anywhere. Four boutique digital effects pedals AmpliTube X-GEAR pedals cover the four realms of guitar effects processing. There's X-DRIVE distortion and X-VIBE modulation, which offer a range of iconic, must-have analog pedal effects – all recreated with IK's finest algorithms ever. Custom-created by the IK team just for these pedals, X-TIME delay and X-SPACE reverb feature cutting-edge, studio-grade effects algorithms. All four X-GEAR pedals share the same high-performance hardware and pioneering DSP for unsurpassed sound quality. Best-in-show DSP AmpliTube X-GEAR pedals leverage IK's latest technologies and over 20 years of experience as the #1 amp and FX modeling company. The state-of-the-art DSP onboard includes 16 custom high-end algorithms per pedal, drawn from the most popular AmpliTube models along with all-new reverb and delay algorithms. Featuring up to 192kHz internal processing with 4x oversampling, X-GEAR pedals deliver amazing clarity to the stage with the realism and response that users love about AmpliTube 5. Hardware that stands out Built to last, X-GEAR pedals feature an aluminum chassis designed and made in Italy with components that guarantee the best possible sound in a stomp pedal. There's ultra-low noise, 24-bit/192kHz converters for class-leading sound quality, an extended 5 Hz – 24 kHz frequency response to capture the full scope of an instrument's tone, and up to 123 dB dynamic range for whisper-quiet operation no matter how much gain is applied. With a pure analog dry path and selectable true or soft bypass, the guitar's tone will ring true no matter how simple or sophisticated the signal chain becomes. Industry-leading integration Each AmpliTube X-GEAR pedal includes a matching virtual version for Mac/PC and a copy of AmpliTube 5 SE. Opening any version of AmpliTube 5, users will find a virtual X-GEAR pedal available as a stomp for use within the program. Adjust any of the pedal settings with the convenience of AmpliTube's award-winning workflow and save them as presets. The X-GEAR Librarian lets users move presets between X-GEAR pedals and AmpliTube and easily reorganize them on the hardware pedal, where up to 300 presets can be stored. All-in-one recording X-GEAR pedals also work as a convenient USB audio interface. The same ultra-low noise converters and frequency response capture bass or guitar in all its range and dynamics. Versatile routing options let users choose between sending the wet or dry signals to their DAW. There's stereo out for monitoring and thanks to full MIDI implementation users can map the dials and stomps of X-GEAR to control AmpliTube and/or any compatible program. From soundcheck to final encore When it's time to play out, AmpliTube X-GEAR pedals offer everything players need to perform at their best. The intuitive interface and control knobs are easy to tweak on the fly. Indoors or out, a high-contrast LED display keeps users informed on their settings and preset banks. An expression pedal input adds additional control over any parameter, while full MIDI implementation is built-in for even the most complex setups. We've also included 5 cabinet impulse responses in each pedal to connect directly to the PA. Signal chain to the stars Combining AmpliTube X-GEAR pedals creates a formidable team, seamlessly sending and receiving MIDI commands for dramatic effects changes. Users can easily set up one X-GEAR pedal as the master to send program changes to the other pedals, and then just drop the presets they want to be activated into the appropriate slots with the X-GEAR Librarian. Daisy-chain the pedals together via MIDI and let the show begin. With open architecture for future updates, AmpliTube X-GEAR pedals will empower players for years to come. 14. I posted this solution in this thread, 3 weeks ago. Have you tried it? Look in Program Files/Common Files/VST3 to find the Presonus VST3 Shell.vst3 folder. Rename it to "Presonus VST3 Shell". Start Cakewalk, and the plug-in will be available.

  15. Every so often there's a promo or survey & you can get them (Stereoizer, Stereoplacer, Monofilter) for about $15-20 each. I use MF quite a bit, although older I still prefer it for some tasks over other newer models or typical mono making methods.

  16. For the record, I picked this up a while ago with a survey voucher and when it was on sale. The dev was always too expensive for my budget so it didn't even make the radar. Plus I found the UIs a little hard to get my head around. Honestly, I'm still trying to make peace with the UI and need to revisit the manual to really learn it... BUT -- this plugin sounds freakin' amazing! My first use was scrolling through presets, then reading up on and tweaking some settings. Then, I A-B'd the results and was totally floored at the 3D depth this baby added! Seriously. Keep an eye out for a sale, this one is a keeper! Two major 👍 👍 from me! (FWIW)

  18. Heads up for any Cakewalk users who may be considering the Virtual Drummer products on sale here. UJAM have acknowledged that they know there is a problem with the UI failing in CW, but are unable to fix it to date. Given their suggestion to try using a different DAW, the holding of breath waiting for the fix is probably not advisable. Groovemate One also has the same issue.

  19. As Daniel mentioned in the video, there are more "trigger" words to discover. From Daniel's list (Kurre), John Vere, & me: IMAGE = WORD 4 track = (image triggered in default file only?) 16 track = (image triggered in default file only?) Acoustic Guitar = acoustic, song Amplifiers = amp, metal Boombox = hiphop, rap Drum kit = drum Gold Record = master (unless certain other key word also used) Grand Piano = piano, key Les Paul = blues, guitar, jazz, pop, rock Microphone = singer, vocals (not "sing" or "vocal") Music sheet = (image triggered in default file only?) Speaker = loud, mix ("basic" triggers image in default file only) Strings = orchestra, bass Synthesizer = dance, electro, synth, techno, trance Most variations of above words work. Some, but not all, root words work. If 2 words are used, highest alphabetical word normally, but not always, wins. To override a trigger word, you must add your own image in Notes Browser. 20. The free Melda MCompressor works with side chaining in Cakewalk. I ran through the IK T-RackS compressors in Cakewalk, but none of them were available as send assignments for sidechaining, unless I am missing something. A few other 3rd party compressors that I have in my plugin collection that did show up for sidechaining in CbB were: PreSonus Fat Channel XT Waves H-Comp Hybrid Compressor ($29 on sale) NI Supercharger (free download with Komplete Start) Tracktion TCompressor (included in the Tracktion DAW Essentials Collection)

  21. I think it'll be a new Amplitude collection. Peter's announcement mentions the finest tones, which to my mind is mostly to do with the amp and cabinet and other effects like pedals rather than the guitar model itself. Also, Amplitude is described as offering tones. Peter, if I guessed right can we have a Total Studio spectacular sale soon? 🙂

  22. I think the IK comps are top shelf, but if you need something that doesn't have analog flavor I could see wanting something to supplement them. For free MCompressor seems like something to try in that case.

  23. Edge webview is a component that is part of windows but is not necessarily installed by every user so we need to run the MS installer. It is not = edge browser. Its like saying the chrome runtime is Chrome. Cakewalk start screen has used the Chrome embedded framework (CEF) for a decade now and we didn't need to announce that. Its a part of the requirements to build the tools in CbB. We will likely deprecate CEF soon and only rely on edge webview runtime since that is more modern.

  25. They also are requiring you own the product for 30 days and are completely cutting off selling un-registered codes. While I think we are still seeing early days on the resale of digital products/rights, I have no doubt governments will get involved. If for no other reason than people die. What happens to your digital rights then will end up being a huge mess that they will have no choice but to sort out. But given every year there are new lawsuits over first sale doctrine and other aspects I don't think things are going to work out anytime soon. If Toontrack is serious their next move will be to stop allowing retail vendors to sell codes. Either shut that down completely or move it to a system where the product is directly registered upon purchase. I know Valve would like to move to a system where key codes for games aren't sold. I suspect other digital retailers want that as well. Change will be endless and constant. Odd are good most of it won't actually be good for any of us though.

  32. Midi pack addiction is no laughing mater. As of late, I've been living on the street breaking into cars and robbing tourists to support my midi pack habit. I would then resell old or substandard midi packs to go buy more midi packs! One midi pack is too much and 1000 isn't enough. Hell, I really need to quit this lifestyle...
