Amazon has a good sale on keyboards if your shift key is broken. https://www.amazon.com/Keyboards-Mice-Computer-Add-Ons-Computers/b?ie=UTF8&node=128794316 points

Yes its was likely lost in translation. I was trying to tell the user that I respected his personal reasons of wanting to remove it but not his reasoning that it was useless (because there are situations he wasnโt aware of where drivers do not provide descriptive names) With any change to common UI there is a potential for confusion. Its important to learn and also let users work with it for awhile before making โgut reactionsโ. We will continue to improve this in future updates.4 points

Hi Folks, We're working on a new web installer for Cakewalk and add/ons. This will be a replacement for installation via BandLab assistant. This is a simple tool that downloads and runs the latest version of Cakewalk on your PC. Please download and try this installer and let us know in this thread if you encounter any problems. Note that if you are already on the latest version it will not update it. Note: If you already have cakewalk installed you can update directly from within the application by choosing Help | Check for Updates EDIT: The web installer has now been officially released. The link has been updated to point to the website directly where you can get it. Choose Download and then pick the Cakewalk installer instead of BandLab assistant. Thanks everyone for your feedback.3 points

So, I found the answer on Wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jarreau_(album) David Foster played on Save Me, Omartian was on Step by Step and Boogie Down (another favorite of mine). So the Famous โEโ is just dripping all over this iconic release. it just takes me back to when I first heard the all Iโm when it was released and I am still captured by the amazing arrangements and musicianship, Laboriel, Porcaro,Gadd, it just goes on and on,3 points
-
So I just spent the morning going through some Jarreau and it is just the best. The problem (if you can call it that) is I am listening at the Rhodes and cannot unhear it know ๐๐๐๐ I wonder if it was used on โSave Meโ? I think Omartian was on that and the incredible riffed on that. Not Like This is pure butter. It is so heartbreaking to have lost such a vocalist and one of a kind artist in Al Jarreau and it is projects like The Famous E Piano that help preserve not only that musical legacy but allows all of us to experience it through the library.3 points

And you can keep coming back with more purchases as you decide "Hmm, maybe I should have gotten this, too."3 points

Indeed, and Simeonโs live vid won me over even more. That man can play.3 points

Wow I just watched the first 10 minutes and this one I will really have to mess around with. Now can someone come up with a VSTi that give me more time in the day or night for this endless hobby of mine!3 points

As stated by Spectrasonics themselves: โThe story of the โEโ name comes from one of these instruments Eddy modified that was often rented from Leeds Musical Instrument Rentals during the heyday of record production in the 1980s. The top producers knew which one to rent because it was marked with a big โEโ on the case. This is not the instrument we sampled for Keyscape, but ours was made at the same time and has the identical circuitry and voicing modifications that Eddy did to that specific Leeds instrument. As the โEโ legend has grown on the Internet over the years, whatโs not widely known is that Eddy made several of these identically modified instruments after various L.A. session players requested the same modifications. Our instrument was a 1974 Suitcase that Eddy extensively modified โฆ โ And the OrangeTreeSamples Famous E is THE original one. Hereโs another interesting tidbit by the engineer (Jay Graydon): http://jaygraydon.com/The_Famous_E_Electric_Piano.htm2 points

Well if Mr Rhodes himself said that the actual Famous E was the best one he had ever heard, then it must be a very special electric piano... ๐2 points

I will likely just remove the numbering prefix in the menus when using friendly names. As I explained above I didnโt remove it originally because some drivers donโt provide descriptive titles so I was trying to make less work for users to tweak the name. No need to add more modifiers. I wasnโt aware that the friendly names feature was so popular2 points

Bedroom Comp by Viator DSPI a Diode Bridge-based compressor. This compressor has some great features like a blend knob and a high-pass filter side-chain. This compressor expects a signal in dBU's, so -18 to -15 is the sweet spot! This compressor is based on a famous channel strip re-issue and is part of a larger plugin I'm putting together to model that hardware unit, enjoy! I think it is emulation of Rupert Neve's 5254 compressor (Reissue of 2254) https://www.patreon.com/posts/bedroom-531545802 points

Yeah, when I was first listening to the demos I totally became obsessed with that library. It's so easy to waste hours jamming with it.2 points

Thank you both for this helpful information. While I will buy a new DAW desktop when the time is right, I am greatly relieved to know that my current desktop DAW computers will still work via offline activation. I hope this was not too off topic. Really! Thanks!2 points

Bulent said (5 years ago): For v3.0, we'll add 1. New sample content 2. New wavetable content 3. granular synthesis 4. formant filters 5. wavetable / sample editing features 6. redesigned GUI And then 1 year ago Bulent said: I haven't updated SynthMaster 2.9 since December 2018. I know it's been a while. But v2.9.9 will be a major update, although the version number has a minor increment I will try to address all existing issues as much as I can (except some cosmetic issues with the older gray/orange/blue skins, those are hard to maintain). Hopefuly we'll release a beta in 2-3 weeks. And in May 2021 Bulent said: For those of you who're asking "hey what about SynthMaster 3?", we had to make some architectural changes in our UI framework to make it "modular". We finally achieved that and first implemented it on iOS. Desktop port coming in the next weeks and will be debuted in our next SM 2.9.9 update. Last week Bulent said: I'm really sorry that I had to spend around 12 months for iOS development (SynthMaster One+SynthMaster 2 combined), but that resulted in a framework that is totally cross platform now. After SynthMaster 3 desktop release we will port it to iOS as well easily with this framework and maybe we can port the framework to Android as well, it was the least priority task in our list but could be worthy to have Android support on our hands as well.2 points

@winkpain @Syphus so, in re-reviewing this, you save the template source file (with image, copyrights, etc) as "normal" in the "project template folder". this is a .cwp file in the template folder at this point. then rename the file as .cwt. now the template file has the image in the header section of the file (which is what needs to be read from the start screen display) as well as embedded in the file notes.1 point

Often unexpected MIDI playback is the result of a plug-in with "Enable MIDI Output" selected on one or more tracks and the input on the track with the mystery playback set to "All Inputs - Omni" By default, synth plug-ins capable of sending MIDI data have "Enable MIDI Output" selected. This setting is on the VST drop down in the plug-in standard header. Deselecting "Enable MIDI Output" when not needed and avoiding "All Inputs" input settings fixes this problem.1 point

I tried running the new installer (Cakewalk_by_BandLab_Download_Setup_1.0.0.013.exe) with 2021.01 build 98 installed 2021.04 build 175 installed in both cases, the appropriate version of 2021.06 was downloaded and installed. The installer did not detect the existing add-on installs. Maybe it should have some notation if previously installed but still allow re-install. Neither gave me the chance to run the program after install completed I wonder if the new installer should mention in-app updating if it detects a previous install?1 point

Since we already have the option to define the names separated by a '|', it would be quite easy to add a way to exclude the number from the menu item text as well. E.g. start the friendly name with a minus sign, asterisk or such to make the numbers disappear, it would just be an extension of the "syntax". This would make it possible for the ones that don't want the numbers to show at all to hide them. Cumbersome and techy, yes, but possible for them who are irritated and confused by the odd numbering scheme provided by the driver. Just my 1,98 cents here...1 point

Great use of freebees. The rhythm is catchy and you provide some great ear candy with the rest. I have some freebies from years ago that I kept and backed up. My favorite has always been the Mini DIZI flute by Chinesewinds. I use it quite a bit in my tunes. I got it from KVR Audio some years back but I don't if I'd trust it now. Too many viruses and malware for me. ๐1 point

All you have to do is comment on the posted version of the stream and you'll be eligible for a random drawing of PATTERN STRINGS (currently $95 at PluginBoutique) So far there haven't been many comments, so your chances are currently quite good. If you watch a little, you can learn about Ben too . More info on Pattern Strings HERE1 point

Orange Tree Samples' guitars are fantastic, but I knew you would totally fall in love with The Famous E electric piano. I wish I could play it like you! Hearing it totally brings back memories of so many great songs and in your hands, I don't want you to stop playing! There are a ton of electric piano sample libraries on the market, but this one is so very special. It's amazing what Orange Tree Samples captured with that library. Greg Schlaepfer is truly a sampling genius. I did find it amusing that you went from George Michael to The Wizard of Oz, I expected Stevie (I share your love of his music). I can honestly say that I didn't see the George Michael coming!1 point

The TE-100 Followed by Waves MV2 is an inspiring combo on bass. I usually duplicate the bass track, HPF one and LPF the other, both at around 300 Hz. A bit of compression on each to level them some and then send both to an AUX track along with the DI (if there is one). This way I've got control over the low end and the high end and can blend them into the AUX track. The bass AUX has the TE and MV2. Doesn't matter the style, it makes the bass sound amazing.1 point

Very nice. I'd suggest bring up the flute a bit and add a little reverb to it. -Bjorn1 point

I actually had purchased a few Melda products through other retailers such as Plugin Boutique, but those don't acount against a new customer. As long as you haven't gone through Melda's website directly, the referal code program should work - even for owners of some melda products. I must have had 3 plugins purchased elsewhere before I used the referal code. The essential bundle is a pretty good one to use it on. Seems like a waste to use it on the FreeFX bundle since that one is already pretty cheap.1 point
