you have to go into your inmusic account - look at your registration - scroll down to find BFD3 downloads and there is the option to generate a serial. Which you use in the cart on the BFDdrums site....via a (virtually) hidden option. Couldn't be any simpler bloomin' complicated..... And the fun doesn't end there. The latest BFD3 update (update?!?) installs in parallel to the original FXpansion installation - because they don't want to use the FXpansion folder - so you'll end up with 2 installs. Sprayed all across your disks. Two authorisation managers as well. I'm not brave enough to try to uninstall the older fxpansion one...who know what hell will be unleashed then as some of the paths they use are shared. The migrate settings tool in the new version of BFD3 fails if you don't run as Administrator (admin user privileges is NOT enough) - took ages to find that one. The problem being that unless you do the migrate then it will nag you and keep rescanning your folders (even if you copy-paste the settings file manually) The older version that is left behind will complain at you because it spots that the VST plugin has changed but the standalone is the older original - no way to fix this apart from using the latest version .dll in the standalone..but that's not really a fix. The new BFD downloader tool that you HAVE to use - will not recognise your older installs of the expansion packs - so it can't tell you what, if anything, needs updating. The new 'free' pack they give you will ONLY install in the latest BFD3 because the new serials won't register on the FXpansion website. This means the older (working) standalone version will complain at you because it thinks you have an unregistered expansion pack...meaning every time you start BFD3 it will try to rescan licences. phew ! That's 2 hours of my life I won't get back oh, and the new version still carries on the same bugs that we've have come to love with BFD3 for years2 points

Ok, this is clearly a case of me trying to post before being fully caffeinated.🤪 I’ve already got BFD3! and have now figured out how to get the free expansion pack. Hopefully by the time the second cup of Java has been disposed of, I’ll figure out how to update BFD3:)2 points

Yes, REAPER is powerful but I just can’t gel with the interface (beyond skins). I’m always customizing it instead of making music. It has a massive windows focusing problem and the input quantize function is broken in many ways. The piano roll never focuses on the notes that are there and it doesn’t remember the zooming when you re-open it. I also REALLY hate the fact that the developer feels the need to shove his political opinions down the users throats. Cakewalk, with its relative deficiencies, is much better for me in terms of usability. Studio One is nice but couldn’t gel with the UI. IMHO, YMMV, yada yada...2 points

It took me awhile to get fully into Reaper, but now I could not see using anything else. It was worth the learning curve. No DAW comes close to Reaper's performance. Projects that would bring Cakewalk to its knees, have no affect on Reaper. I have not had a crash in over two years of using it. I'm not a power user, but I have a few custom actions that would be hard to live without. Kenny Gioia has some great tutorial videos on YouTube. They helped me a great deal.2 points

For those of us who were "rolled over" from the previous life of Cakewalk by BandLab known as "SONAR", acquired significantly more templates that were pre configured and delegated among each tier package (Artist, Professional, Platinum). This also included a few more ProChannel FX Chain Inserts that utilized the bundled in 3rd party plugin suites. I have always had a folder of my Pro & Platinum Temps in a cloud for mobility and to easily share with friends that are learning how to use Cakewalk. The templates that I will share here utilize the DXi, VST, VSTi programs that come already fitted out within Cakewalk by BandLab. I will post any advanced templates using 3rd party plug ins in a separate topic in the forum. Showcase Templates (TH3, Virtual Instruments, Surround 5.1) Mix and Mastering Templates Console Emulation (S- Type, N- Type, A- Type)1 point

All I ever had was BFD Eco. And I can get the upgrade to 3.x for $50. I might get this. I liked how Eco allowed me to alter the midi. This might be a good deal for me1 point

I use the IK CSR Hall, which has more parameters than the Breverb. So, you can't really do a 1:1 parameter match. To create the preset, I started with the same reverb time as my desired Breverb setting. Editing the usual suspects - crossover, damping, low frequency multiplier, etc. - got it super-close. Then I did a few more tweaks for diffusion etc. There are some elements that really don't correlate, like it seemed like a needed 35 ms Pre Delay on the IK to get the same kind of early reflections as 10 ms for the Breverb. But after a bit of tweaking, the differences were so minor I saved the IK preset as "Breverb Hall Emulation."1 point

@Cédric Lawde This will be fixed in the next installer build, but you're seeing the 0 KB PC2A file because there was an issue with where the installer was packaging localized versions of the PC2A .dll files. If you run the installer again in English you should see a proper PC2A file.1 point

Beautiful vocals and guitar work, lazy chilled and kinda sexy, reminds me of Kenny Rogers for some reason. I think you love acoustic guitars as you get great tone from them without buzz etc great skill. Man i always get excited listening to peoples vibes on here and always makes me want to write another song, which i now will start thinking about today after just finishing one last weekend haha Cheers for inspiring me1 point

'T. Monk's Advice' as delivered to saxophonist Steve Lacy in 1960 Just because you’re not a drummer, doesn’t mean that you don’t have to keep time. Pat your foot and sing the melody in your head when you play. Stop playing all that bull5hit, those weird notes, play the melody! Make the drummer sound good. Discrimination is important. You’ve got to dig it to dig it, you dig? All reet! Always know It must be always night, otherwise they wouldn’t need the lights. Let’s lift the band stand!! I want to avoid the hecklers. Don’t play the piano part, I am playing that. Don’t listen to me, I am supposed to be accompanying you! The inside of the tune (the bridge) is the part that makes the outside sound good. Don’t play everything (or everytime); let some things go by. Some music just imagined. What you don’t play can be more important than what you do play. A note can be small as a pin or as big as the world, it depends on your imagination. Stay in shape! Sometimes a musician waits for a gig & when it comes, he’s out of shape & can’t make it. When you are swinging, swing some more! (What should we wear tonight?) Sharp as possible! Always leave them wanting more. Don’t sound anybody for a gig, just be on the scene. Those pieces were written so as to have something to play & to get cats interested enough to come to rehearsal! You’ve got it! If you don’t want to play, tell a joke or dance, but in any case, you got it! (to a drummer who didn’t want to solo). Whatever you think can’t be done, somebody will come along & do it. A genius is the one most like himself. They tried to get me to hate white people, but someone would always come along & spoil it.1 point

Have you tried this using the English language? You should know that localization is done after the early access phase. Maybe the menu item in the help menu is missing because of missing translations? All the best 2 U1 point

maybe just use two mono tracks. i just did a recording this weekend up at Woodstock and just two mics and two mono tracks per performance, sounds great and i can also adjust some of the levels between the tracks to change the closest instruments to a given mic.1 point

Normally you should use ASIO if its available, and IIRC a fresh install will choose ASIO if an ASIO driver is available. The Realtek ASIO driver is an anomaly - it amazes me that they would release a driver that doesn't even pass the most basic SDK tests. Ironically, some pro audio audio interfaces seem to have slightly worse WASAPI support, so WASAPI wouldn't be a good default choice for those devices.1 point

https://kushview.net I have used Element quite a bit and it is pretty good. There are many features in Gig Performer not in Element, like set lists and custom controls which is why I wanted to get Gig Performer as well. But I have used Element to test out new plugins and plugin chains and to set up quick experiments. It loads much faster than my daw and you can drag and drop vsts from a folder to load them into Element without having Element scan for them. This is great if you want to quickly load a plugin to test it out without having to wait for a scan to complete.1 point

Phil, really great job here. The song holds up well all by itself, my only thought was maybe in the spoken rap sections the vocals could come up just a bit in volume, but good enough as is. If you put that together in just a couple of days, that's a helluva job! Visuals suited the story but the song carries both imho. Nice! cheers, -Tom1 point

Yeah, we've found it really hard to reproduce this bug. As soon as we can get a reliable repro, we should be able to get to the root cause. It's just a theory, but I've a sneaking suspicion that it may be related to this (which we've now fixed): In other words, clips that were affected by this bug in the past might suffer from the gain/normalize issue... but any other clip is fine.1 point
