  1. I couldn't help myself... my offer on the complete bundle was so low ( < 10% of the normal cost ), I just had to get it. The way your past purchases go towards a discount on the bundles is awesome.

  9. Good lord you weren't kidding. That's all I can say. MTurboDelayMB on the other hand, seems like it was abandoned at some point. It has the same complement of presets that the non-MB version does, but none of them work properly. In other news, I tried MSpectraldynamicsle briefly, and although I'm still having a hard time getting my head around it, I managed to come up with a preset that I liked enough to upload. It uses the bitcrusher device and it's called "Phantom Flautist." It adds a flute-y overtone to your source. I need to get in the habit of using the "description" field in my preset uploads. Some of the presets are baffling, they don't show the devices on the easy screen, so I can't control them. All in all, it's pretty fab to get 8 new high end plug-ins for free, thanks to those who used my referral code.

  14. John's layout is bog standard for Track View, and he even goes over to the Console View to show what it looks like there. The only possible hitch I can think of is that he has his Bus Pane showing at the start of the video and I'm not sure if that is open by default. If not, there is an arrow button at the lower right corner of the Track/Bus headers that will open it. The Cakewalk Reference Guide, downloadable from this forum, has good information about setting up Send tracks, too. If someone still can't figure it out after all this, the next thing I would suggest is that they check the program's title bar up at the top and make sure they're actually running Cakewalk. If so, maybe Cakewalk's not the best fit.

  15. Hi tom. Thanks for trying again! I appreciate it. I get nervous using reverb/delay on vocals because of my tendency to abuse it but I just had to use it on this song. Thanks for listening and the thumb!!! Hi David. Perhaps it was "Mars Attacks" or perhaps the super Sun flares that we have been warned about? Probably not. 😏 Hi Nigel. I have to go back to the basic, raw side of the Blues every once in a while. To misquote John Lee Hooker - it's in me and gotta get out. I appreciate your taking the time to listen and for the kind words.

  21. The signal paths through the FX Rack and the PC are the same - in at the top, out at the bottom. IIRC, by default the PC is before FX Rack. There is an option in the PC context menu to place it after the FX Rack.

  22. Sometimes there are corrupt projects and very hard to know why. And the solution often is to just make a new one and copy the data over from the old to the new in hopes that the corruption is left behind. one thing you could have done with your song was save it as a midi file and Open it to start over.

  28. I use an Arturia Audio Fuse 8 Pre (connected via lightpipe) to provide more analog I/O for a Fireface UFX+. In my case, I have the Audio Fuse 8 Pre look to its lightpipe input (word-clock "Slave") The UFX+ (which is the word-clock "Master") is sending lightpipe (embedded word-clock) to the Audio Fuse 8 Pre. If I change sample-rates in the RME Fireface UFX+, the Audio Fuse 8 Pre automatically follows.

  29. Actually, there was Cubase, too. Cakewalk/SONAR suffered from being Windows-only and from getting kinda buggy. I don't know how it compared to all other DAW's in the crashing sweepstakes, but I started with Mixcraft, which is solid as a rock, and the first version of CbB (which was also sort of the last version of SONAR) didn't work very well on my system. Crashes, freezes, etc. I felt like I was on thin ice with it, saving way more often than I was used to. And I found the comping workflow to be confusing before they made the changes to it. I think it's great now, after 3 years of repair and renovation, but I don't think I would have been comfortable with it if it had stayed as it was. They could innovate all they wanted, but what gets and keeps an important tool in my place is basic usability and dependability. SONAR, IMO, had issues with both (which, happily, were and are being addressed).

  30. It may go lower if you complete a bundle, but its a moot point for me as I have just found I don't have all the synths as VSTis . I will probably buy the Voltage Modular version as it give a lot more flexibility. Currently $29 at Cherry for the Poly/Mono version bundle. I have been getting into Voltage Modular lately, the latest addition being the Octagon sequencer which is very nice.

  38. Toneboosters (yes I have them both) isn't as powerful/feature-filled as Sonarworks. And at least for my ATH-50X the curves are different. But the overall effect is pretty close to be honest. I do like Morphit a lot though. It's ability to emulate different speaker systems is very nice and it's not very expensive CPU (or money) wise. Sonarworks replaced Morphit for me mainly because I also got the mic and added the room monitor option (though I haven't upgraded yet and I never use Systemworks). If your headphones are supported though I think either one can get the job done.

  42. No ..I mean I can just look at the screen and know where everything is . When recording I just tend to loop a section and if I mess up - CTRL-Z ....Hit record again...I've never actually used the Punch IN-OUT either..not since the days of tape Haha - once...many many years ago, it's easier to write them on a sheet of paper and pin them up by the mic stand

  43. Actually 2 profiles. The first profile (the bluesy parts) was my Marshall JCM2000 set clean but driven by an MI Audio Super Blues Pro pedal. The second profile was the same amp set clean but driven by the MI Audio Super Crunchbox. This was used for the (heavier) part in the middle of the track. Both profiles were captured with pedals included in the chain.

  44. Cool! I'll check it out. In an attempt to learn to work with multi-parameters a couple of years ago, I did the "Notching EQ" in the free EQ. You basically move the node around to find a bad resonance, then use the multi-parameter to pull down the gain. It narrows the Q with the gain so it becomes a notched frequency. (So it wouldn't work with the free bundle until it is upgraded which allows the multi-parameters. The Melda Presets could use some love. I hate the nonsense names that come with the plugins. Totally useless.

  45. Just a heads up to anyone who comes across this thread. I gave it a good try, but it is way too slow to be useful. Some Sonar CWP files took near two minutes to d/l before ready to work on. I guess an average was about 45seconds to a minute. And that was with D/L speeds from about 900kb per second up to about a 6MB per second. It would probs be ok if you had dedicated cable, but on normal ethernet, not workable. I'll stick with having them local and syncing specific folders to OD. Thanks all for comments and thoughts.

  46. For me, for such a wide monitor, the curve really helps to bring the edges closer to your vision, and stops you from having to lean in to see the edges properly. It's not quite so necessary on a regular ultrawide rather than a super ultrawide like I have, but it does make a difference. The curve isn't as severe as you'd expect so you barely notice the curve after a while, but you do miss it when you sit in front of such a wide flat screen.
