Hi all !!!! Just some small words from another Human . I want to wish you all , Health , peace of mind , success for this new years . The world 's facing challenges , two words are actually moving , an old one that don't wanna die/change , and a new world , fair with a more humanistic approach (should i say rational versus RaceTionnal lol) This is in this time that a forum like that still gives hopes where race / age / religion / social group / political opinion isn't a factor of judgement . We exerce an ART , and like every ART , its very inherent purpose is the interaction with the entity that consume it (in our case mostly humans) This is a strong connection and knowing this entity and its subtilities is how you master it . All masters in any ART have a deep konwlegde of humans , and how to know them if not spending time with them . We do it in certain aspect here , but in "real life" i suggest everybody to emphase this factor this year !!!* Also as humans (still ;)) we 're designed to interact with the reality (not only) so be sure to also emphase the HARDWARE side of thing and WORKFLOW , impact will be wayyyyy more important than new plugins !!!! Limitation is freedom , freedom is time availlable , never forget that .... Have you tried doing a reset then a scan? (in Preferences - File - VST Settings) If that does not work, can you give the name of a specific VST3 plugin that does not appear?

I've been developping an appreciation for Tracktion software lately having acquired F.'em for cheap and LOVE for free. I really like the look of the various Tracktion product UI's. Clean, colourful and resizable. I've wondered if Dawesome also does the UI's for the products he's made or if it's the work of someone else. There's quite a story on the developer side of things which makes me a bit uneasy about the long-term stability of the company. It's kind of confusing with Tracktion currently belonging to PACE (iLok) of all companies (and PACE belongs to yet another company) and Tracktion itself seemingly an umbrella for several teams if not separate companies. Recent low prices are great for my wallet, but the products are worth a lot more than I paid for them.

It doesn’t go as low as Abyss and Kult yet, as it’s Dawesome’s latest, but he’ll be launching Myth in the new year, so chances are Novum will go lower then.

C for OS and all programs A (audio) all your CWP projects D (data) if I “save” anything (except CWP) S (samples) for all your VSTi samples, also I create a “junction” that keeps any data that programs want to “dump” on the C drive (IKM is notorious for this, gigs of shite [ie: Tracks, Amp 5 etc] that should not be on the C drive) If a program needs more than 100megs of data to reference, I make a junction. V (video) if you do video. I also have a B (backup) drive internal and external. Why so many drives? Keep the C drive “lean and mean” 250 gig SSD (my systems use about 70gigs currently) is way more than enough, IF you “monitor” what lazy programmers put there (see IKM note) Evidently taking a few extra steps designing their installers is a “few” too many. BACKUP that C drive “religiously”. Image, Image, image. If a new install causes a problem, ET can “phone home”. Problem solved. You can thank me later…. t

Always good to hear from you, ol' pal. Even ex-Pats should send a postcard home once in awhile. VST3 was supposed to end the old "where's the DLL?" game by always placing them in the same spot. DAWs, in order to claim VST3 compatibility, had to include that location in their scans by default. However, DAW compliance is only half the contract. Vendors' installation programs also have to respect the convention. Most do; however, they usually don't force the VST3 location and let the user specify any path they like. Consequently, VST3 versions can be found all over the place. And because subsequent updates usually honor their previous settings, a mistake dating back to the early days of VST3 can be propagated for years. I'd suggest figuring out the file names of the missing VST3s and running a search to find any that aren't in the standard VST3 folder nor another folder that's in the scan path list. From a DOS window, type the following: c: cd \ dir *.vst3 /s > vst3.txt & notepad vst3.txt

According to the VST Setting dialogue box, setting this option hides VST2 plugins. However, the OP says that it’s the VST3 iterations that are not showing up.

Unless you have changed the keyboard shortcuts, the space bar will start playback, not recording. The shortcuts work like this: To record: Press R to start recording. Press space bar to stop and return to the starting point (what we call the "Now Time"). To play back: Press space bar to start playback. Press it again to stop playback. To erase what you just recorded, you can do as Mark suggested and press CNTRL Z. You could set Overwrite mode and simply record over the original, but it will erase only the section you record over again.

Yes, I mentioned in another thread that this generally only happens to me when using Realtek in WASAPI mode in which case there really isn't an option to power-cycle the interface. But if it happens with a peripheral interface for any reason (e.g. after a crash), this will often do the trick.

Dear FORUM friends. We ended the year 2023 without the long-awaited BETA version of the new, brand-new SONAR, with the correction of thousands of bugs or non-bugs as many friends here reiterate, and countless other innovations having been made available. During this period there were many good approaches, others not so much and many even inelegant, bordering on bad manners. At the end of this year, I call on all of us, users of the tool, to be more united in helping each other so that the tool reaches a satisfactory point of evolution. Until then, I continue to use the current version for what suits me and, of course, I started using REAPER in its latest version, which is very consistent and full of features that I was unaware of and are fully serving me. I wish you all a great 2024.

I forgot that Slate Digital requires either iLok Cloud (always connected), or an iLok USB, to authorize and use their plugins. No offline use permitted with iLok Cloud. Your Slate plugins are useless without an internet connection. Meh. Uninstalled... No Slate Digital for me!
