  1. I thought I'd share - this is the album Alan signed for me at the end of the mix with the masters class. His studio is next to his home, so he invited all of us inside his house for sushi. We were at his dining room table when he signed this. ๐Ÿ’œ For those that don't know - Alan was the engineer on Dark Side of the Moon! ๐Ÿค˜

  2. https://www.vsl.co.at/en/Free_Instruments/Harp_Glissandos This free instrument provides a wide variety of harp glissandos, perfectly organized in the Synchron Playerโ€™s patch structure, and its plentiful variations are easily accessible across the keyboard. The glissandos are available in all 12 major and minor scales, played upwards and downwards. Whatโ€™s more, you may choose between slow, medium and fast glissandos played over the full range of the instrument, or just in the low range, mid range or high range.

  3. So after playing with the 30-day "no strings attached" demo of Vogue, I have the following observations: 1) WAAAAAAY overpriced! (As Brian Lawler pointed out, where is the discount for those of us who own many Ujam products?) I think this should have a regular price of $79 with a loyalty/intro pricing of about $59.) 2) It sounds interesting/pretty, but frequently the fills don't seem to match the preset style. Maybe it's a matter of personal taste, but the fills seem to be pretty useless. 3) I am struggling to figure out the chord voicing AI. You can play with just one finger, but when you start using real chords I find the results can be haphazard. Sometimes it sounds real nice, and other times not so good. The manual has a guide to the chord voicings, so I guess I need to examine it more closely. 4) When you record, you only are recording your keypresses, so you don't get a MIDI editable performance. Yes, you can play back those keypresses and Vogue will play back the performance you heard when you made it, but a MIDI recording of the performance would be much more useful. It also means you are stuck using the UJAM piano sound as opposed to using your own piano VST. I suggest everyone try the demo and see if it fits their needs. I haven't decided yet - if it was around $59 I would have bought it. A very good alternative (if you can play basic chords on a keyboard) is Chord Potion. It comes with hundreds of musical styles (all of which can be edited), creates MIDI performances which you can edit, but it does not include a piano, so you'll need to supply a VST instrument. Of course, that means you can use piano, organ, strings, whatever instrument you want. And it costs about $50. You can check out Chord Potion here: https://feelyoursound.com/chordpotion/

  7. If you use the "Install to" and then "Reinstall library" features in IK Product Manager, you can place everything in the Syntronik 2 folder. This is not the default, but once you do this all Syntronik 1 and Syntronik 2 content will be installed in the Syntronik 2 path. It then looks like a complete duplicate of Syntronik 1, and you only need to configure the Syntronik 2 content path in the settings for everything. If you have already downloaded the installers, they should remain in the Product Manager folder until you delete them or archive them, so that they can be reinstalled if necessary. Regarding Syntronik 1, I haven't noticed anything missing since I deleted my Syntronik 1 folders. But I did wait until everything was in and working exclusively from the Syntronik 2 folder before I deleted anything. Hope this helps!

  8. I decided that I could live without ever installing the GS-V just on principle. ๐Ÿ™„ 31 GB is a ridiculously large sample set for a single instrument!!! I don't care how rare or good it may sound, I have alternatives for that type of sound already. Just a heads up though, there are 21 multis which I found that call for GS-V. So I hid them from Syn 2 in the multis folder (renamed with a fake file extension) so I won't have to put up with the crashes and/or missing sounds with them. 11. As far as I know you will need the CM June 22 issue #308 to unlock v2.0 plugins (just released). Older CM back issues should get you v1 plugins. Edit: CM #309 July also has the new plugin suite.

  15. Found the problem! It seems Product Manager does not like to use a network drive. I had asked it to use a directory on a NAS device, but it just froze every time I tried to install anything. Reverting to a normal drive solved the problem.

  17. Some good points in there, although I'm VERY discerning with my purchases personally. I regularly pass up ridiculously good discounts on stuff, even if they're only $10 or whatever, purely because they're not the top contenders in each category, or add something very unique. So for me, the deep discounts are very valuable, as I only really buy the cream of the crop, so those discounts allow me to get a heap more plugins for the same amount of money. I do think PA ranks quite highly, but I still prefer plenty of other companies, as they're superior in some categories for sure. For example, while I do like the XL V2 limiter, as it's got some unique features and options, I don't rate their limiters in general. The Amek 200 is good, but I've got no real interest in trying the others you mentioned. Not that they're bad, I'm sure they're at least decent, but I'm well covered. But in terms of having more time for trials, PA happily extends trials and even resets everyone's expired trials at times, so if we can't decide in that amount of time, then the plugin probably isn't worth it ๐Ÿคฃ

  18. Windows 10 introduced the snipping tool: WINDOWS KEY+SHIFT+S Unfortunately, in most applications with context menus, they close before capture due to the interrupt from the low ASCII key stroke. Print Screen is a dedicated key, and therefore doesn't send an interrupt. Probably still your best option.๐Ÿ˜•

  19. Looks like a heavy edited version of the Split Channel to Tracks CAL bundled with CbB but unlike the original script nTrk is not getting incremented along with nChannel. This seems like an important step so that each channel resides on a separate track.

  27. I forget the name of the documentary, but it was about where rock and roll really started. Lady named Sister Rosetta Tharpe. When you watch this and see the films of her playing style, you can hear all the licks we still play today!! Really good documentary.

  28. Unfortunately, while I agree with you that it should be just semantics, from IK's point of view it's not, which you will see when Syntronik 3 MAX arrives. Or if you want to do a crossgrade. I was honestly hoping to get Syntronik 2 MAX, because that what it said on the page, but I'm not too disappointed because that would've been too good to be true and this was a good deal anyways. So no scandal for me, just the usual IK confusion that I've come to expect and acccept as a cost of doing business with them.

  30. Yes, TY. I now have some multis that crash Syntronik 2 even though everything is installed. I suspect that some of the duplicate installations got put into a different place than the previous installations. So its a matter of rearranging my Library Folders/ Sound Contents. It might be easier to just re-install everything instead of trying to move stuff to where it should be. Previously I only had the 11 new synths on my SSD drive, with the older synths on an external HDD. One of the nice things about using Notepad to view the multis, is that InstrumentPath stays in the search buffer.

No one here probably wants me to get into my opinions on this so far. My views are along the lines of the Epoch Times. Nuff said. SHANE- I am truly sorry to hear of this man. If you weren't sick I would gladly have invited you over as you are just over the state line not too far. Get well soon.

  35. I can see how some folks might perceive the bundle vs. a la carte approach as different. But there really is no material difference here since either way it's all a "not for resale" thing, and you get everything included in MAX, including the new MAX multis! Make music and be happy!

  36. Bjorn , I Really enjoyed that. Great job on the grace notes on the violin. You nicely captured the "bagpipe" feel using them. I also thought the voice you used from Heavyocity was perfect. She sounded like another well fitting instrument at the start of her passages. Wonderful performance .. mark

  41. As several people have already indicated, even if it is a cakewalk bug, there is an ecosystem and a context behind it. In a system with complex interactions it is important to have all the elements. Cakewalk (or any other software) does not work from scratch. Would you go to your doctor and just say you're sick without giving any other information?
