No one--including me tbh--cares about what plugins I bought, but I got a great deal on a thick NY strip steak which I brought home and made the perfect medium rare steak. I seasoned it perfectly, too, since I finally put down the pre-made steak seasonings and just went w/ course kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper. I got the perfect sear and it was the best steak I've made. I also finally found the perfect percale queen flat sheet after trying several very expensive flat sheets that were not up to my standard but should have been at over $100 for a sheet. Percale is hard to come by as everything is sateen these days, but Amazon's own house brand hooked up a great queen percale sheet for $23. And I got a food saver, a nice one but you shoulda seen that steak.7 points

I thought this would be the first BF in seven years that I didn’t buy anything music related. However, late last Sunday I found a boxed version of Steinberg HALion Sonic 2 for just over $30 at a local reseller. My guess is that they had found a single dusty item on the floor in a corner somewhere. I know that it’s antediluvian and that HALion Sonic 3 was released more than four years ago, but should I ever want to upgrade, this license ought to be my ticket to a great price. Oh, and I bought a new TV. OLED. Black is back.5 points

I had set aside $1,000,000 to buy plugins, . . . but only bought TC tuner for 9, SWAM brass collection for 390, Softube Tape echoes 45, bohemian cello 149. Point is, I saved $999, 407 dollars.3 points

So it appears that our rampant consumerism has significantly slowed down this year. Either that or we've all reached the point where there's hardly anything left that we don't already own. Or, perhaps, a lot of us are more broke this year than in past years?3 points

ASIO4ALL is known problematic. That's your issue right there. Why in God's name would anyone use it when their interface's manufacturer supplies a proper ASIO driver?3 points

Anyone posts a picture of their full "moon"....I kill you! So, now that the dust is settling...tell us about the wonderful goodies you bought, and the duds also, should you be so inclined! BBC Core...which I have been after since BBC Discover (don't let the size of Discover fool you...it's a lovely freebie!) I honestly didn't think I'd ever be able to get it...and that's only thanx to the annual "Coffee Clatch"! Melodyne Editor also "appeared"...and Softube Amp Room! So again, my deepest, and humblest, gratitude to you all for making this old geezer's Black Friday a little brighter!!! Oh yeah...and ACTUAL COFFEE! I LOVE COFFEE!!!2 points

Pianobook is a great community. It can be hit or miss to find a truly good library there, but wow, when you do. There's some really sweet little libraries and all of them are free (and some work with a free sample player). I think I'll check back later and post the names of some of my favorites for those who have yet to delve deeply into Pianobook.2 points

Setting workspaces to None effectively disables the feature. Settings persist across sessions like they did in versions of SONAR Platinum prior to the introduction of Lenses (the original name for workspaces). At the time of their introduction Lenses defaulted to None. The release notes for 2019.11 contain the first mention of the Basic workspace as the default.2 points

I think Steinberg grants you an automatic upgrade to the version that is current at the time of registration (that's what I got when I registered a cheap, old copy of Dorico 1.0 that I found and they gave me a free upgrade to 3.5)2 points

To have best experience with audio under Windows, the computer should not be "put together", but constructed specially for audio by people which know how to do this. That is major difference between "PC" and "Apple", the first can be constructed by anyone... the result is unpredictable. On Windows there is RME Audio interfaces and "other" audio interfaces. Again, if great result (in flexibility, latency, etc.) is expected out of the box and the user has "no time" for tweaking, especially on not "audio special" computer, the interfaces has to be RME. Apple lovers should understand that situation.2 points

Nevertheless a lot of people joke about us, that do not want to be online all the time! But I am 100% sure the best way to have no malware is to be offline and not to have the latest software (even with W7)! That's why I prefer software that can be easily offline activated!2 points
