  7. I gave it a quick test last night, just slapping it on the master bus of a completed project, prior to Ozone. That may not the best use of this effect, though, because the subjective result was a slight increase in the mud range and loss of brightness. I'll look a little closer tonight.

  8. That looks like a combination of Fractured and Shipwrecked Pianos. As far as the Fractured Piano goes, I yell at my own piano all the time but it doesn't make me sound any better.

  13. Updated this synth couple of days ago and forgotten how fun it is to create new sounds with this thing!! This is a really good synth that's not too expensive. Well worth the money

  14. I'm not removing anything from my Komplete 13 Ultimate. I will never know when I may want a different instrument than the usual sounds and Komplete has different. There are different sounds of bases, guitars, horns, keys organs, West Africa, India, Middle Eastern sounds, expansion orchestral, and the like. I can be inspired at anytime and instead of trying to purchase the sound, it's already in my arsenal. Nope, I'm not removing a thing.

  16. The Air That I Breathe by Albert Hammond. It's the original and I've always thought it was the best version out there. I always loved Phil Everly's version too. I like them both equally actually. Never cared for The Hollies version. Sorry if this has been posted before. This thread is too huge to check. Hah.

  17. At least IK improves things with iterations. WUP is a basic "functioning" tax. A friend for fee, without benefits. At least if you don't have eligible bundles.

  20. I'm intrigued. Looks like a candidate for Plugin Doctor's all-seeing eye, to determine just what it is that this mysterious plugin actually does. It appears to be "name your price" rather than free, though, suggesting 10 EUR or higher and requiring a credit card to complete the download. Let me know how it goes, Fleer. My personal purchasing policy (Paypal or nothing) won't allow me to satisfy my curiosity.

  26. Full disclosure: I'm a proud Beatles/Abbey Road geek! Plugins? Yeah, I got 'em. Currently reading "Solid State," about The Beatles bringing the band in for a bumpy landing during the Get Back/Let it Be/Abbey Road period... I got this in my email from Abbey Road (I'm on the mailing list) and just had to share b/c I thought it was hilarious! For the true Beatles fan/Abbey Road Studio geek on your gift list! An EMI TG12345 Mixing Console Jigsaw Puzzle. Whaaat??? Yes, boys and girls, you heard that right! From Abbey Road: "The TG desk, delivered to Abbey Road in 1968, was EMI’s first solid-state (i.e. transistorised console) and superseded the vacuum tube-based REDD range of desks. The TG was the first console to include a limiter/ compressor, EQ and metering for each channel, and the smooth, clean sound of the TG can be heard on legendary albums such as Abbey Road by The Beatles and The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd. The Mk III TG12345 photographed for this puzzle, as well as a very similar Mk II version, are still available for use on recordings at Abbey Road today." Now, where did I put that vinyl cutting lathe???

  28. Alan Charles Lancaster (7 February 1949 – 26 September 2021) Maybe not so well known over the pond, but familiar to most of us old rockers as a founder member and bass player of Status Quo. The first bass player to perform at Live Aid:

  29. This piece is a passacaglia with one main difference, instead of being in 3, it's in 9/4. It is scored for VSL full orchestra including software synths Dune, Z3TA, Massive and the Yamaha MODX. Finally, this is the 4th movement to my 10th symphony for virtual orchestra. In this work I strive for, as I usually do, compositional clarity and balance, motivic and thematic development and textural variety. This work is a track on the album Earth Music. PLAY

  33. Super chill, the dobro adds the old-school to the nu school. Very cool comp. For me the bass needs a dip cut somewhere around 250hz maybe? It's eating a lot of the energy of this track, maybe the higher end elements will benefit from less bass presence in the mix. YMMV and I'm wrong a lot. but excellence in chill. cheers, -Tom

  36. This! For proper dynamics you might want to invest in a good sample based piano VST. You can get the demo version of XLN Addictive Keys for free. Just create an account, install the download manager and the demos will be there. https://www.xlnaudio.com/demos

  38. For one of my promos, I'm looking for a Vox Continental organ. Tried searching the IK site, but couldn't find one. Although, they have a demo of a the SampleTank Rhodes Bass with a convincing sounding Continental in the demo song. Anyone know whether IK has a Vox Continental organ for SampleTank?

  39. There’s dozens of ways to put both MP3 or even wave files on your phone. You don’t really have to use iTunes but believe it or not that’s the most simple way as iTunes will sync to all devices. It is the only reason I even suffer having iTunes on my PC. My biggest pet peeve is it seems to need to upgrade every few days!!?? Nag, nag, nag But it is important to me to be able to proof mixes on the phone seeing as that’s probably going to be how people are going to listen. I simply drag and drop the MP3 into the iTunes music folder and it will then sync up with my phone. How hard is that? Other ways I have used email your self the song. put it in drop box put it in one drive put it in Google drive put it in iCloud Drive post it on you tube post it one Sound Click post it on Reverbnation post it on Facebook post it on sound cloud

  40. Unless you plan to sell your final product for profit (ie: you're in this for personal enjoyment), then don't bother with the gain knob. Lots of mixes (even back on large format analog consoles) were done with some of the faders in the -40db range and below. Yes, keeping them in the 0db range allows for more finesse for the professional product, especially when automating flying faders, but it's a matter of personal choice. If your initial instrument audio is printing in a healthy manner (not too quiet and not clipping) then just have fun. Always print your final mix with effects, cuz they can't be added later. And generally, a finished mixed audio track cannot be "turned back into MIDI". Also check out the YouTube channel from Creative Sauce, he does really good, simple, detailed tutorials, in plain (well, Aussie 🙂) language. Start here:

  44. Sometimes we treat that forum as the final authority on any library. There is no doubt a bias against KH libraries. Some of them get paid for their work and I get that. Interesting though is if a developer comes out with (insert any name) Strings they often ooh and ah. One developer pointed that out when he make a cinematic or trailer library whatever. The wheel can only be invented so many tines and it takes a while for a hobbyist to figure that out. Interesting once when Hans Zimmer Strings came out a guy made a 4 hour video on it and was expecting it to be more "Hans Zimmer" and Hans came on the forum and insulted him. Hollywood ego at best. I think that library was $700. Never mind that the guy wasn't thanked for buying it.
