  3. This is way too personal and I'll delete it later, but @Esteban Villanovaand @cclarry your posts resonated. I'm all that's left of my entire family, including three siblings. My mother was a working musician and music teacher and my three siblings and I were all trained musicians from an early age. I started on piano then organ, but my siblings formed a family band and decided I had a natural talent for drums, so I became the family band's drummer. So for years, we performed at recitals and events as a family band. Recently one of my brother's friends found my name in a FB group we're both in and publicly asked me, one by one, how each of my siblings were doing. It was probably the most depressing subthread ever. After telling him that each sibling died except my brother, who was then in the hospital dying of lung cancer, he wrote, "You're joking, right?" I responded, "I'm not sure of which universe this would be considered funny in, but it's definitely not the one I'm living in." Then I tried to lighten things up -- as much as wass possible -- with a really dark joke, "Even Skynyrd has more surviving members. And even I wouldn't buy a ticket to see a band who's only remaining member is the drummer." So yeah, I'm all that's left and way too familiar with tragedy. The same year my son was born, my first child was born, my remaining sister died. My father within two months. My brother, the eldest, died more recently of lung cancer. But for our family he was super old, 61. It's incredibly tough to lose someone close to you like a sibling. That longing to see them again doesn't go away, you just get used to it. I thank God I had my kids because that's what kept me going. Three months is nothing when you just lost someone with you your entire life until recently. Estaban. My heart goes out to you. I want to encourage you to actively seek ways to stay positive. As for my youngest sister, she was a hero to me. I talk about her regularly to my kids and important things she taught me in life to ensure they know all about her and how important she was in shaping who I am. It doesn't bring her back, but letting my kids and others know what a wonderful person she was and how much she influenced my life is a way of honoring her and it means something to me and is kind of my way of showing gratitude. I realize that this is a long way from the purpose of this forum, but hey, this is a difficult time for people all over the world (due to the pandemic), so I think if you made a post to tell us a little about what you loved about your sister, it would be nice. Yeah, this is all phenomenally off topic, but I think some things matter more than staying on topic.

  8. Note that if you are filtering presets and gear, there are some presets that will have gear outside of AmpliTube 5 CS so you won't see those if you are filtering them out.

  10. I was 21 when my sister, 26 years old and 6 months pregnant died. My eldest sister lived to be 48. Honestly, the day that gets to me the most? This stupid Hallmark holiday called Siblings Day when I see a bunch of posts from friends. I'm happy for them, but it's tough. I've never posted in this thread, but I've read every post, starting with the first heartbreaking post. A lot of us are familiar with pain and loss and I just thought, especially during this time - one friend I made several years ago from KVR lost 4 friends from COVID-19 during the last year and he's in his 40s -- it can be important to share our grief and let others know they're not alone.

  11. But for our family he was super old, 61. That's my age now...and I know the tracks are running out... It's incredibly tough to lose someone close to you like a sibling. That longing to see them again doesn't go away, you just get used to it Truer words were never spoken. I've said repeatedly that the hardest thing about growing old is watching as the ones that you love the most disappear... Parents and Siblings are especially traumatic....

Both non-commercial and commercial (royalty free) version have a 100% discount, of course the recommendation is to get the unlimited licensed version https://www.producerplanet.com/us/article/modern-fairytale-12441/?license=commercial_unlimited Soundpools are essentially sample libraries with the melodic loops available in multiple harmonically-related pitches. They are designed for use in Samplitude or Magix Music Maker, but they are also available to download as zip files containing standard wav/ogg files

  18. Esteban, don't give up trying to quit. If I did it, so can you. You will get over the real physical addiction in about 3 days, then it drops off after that for about 2-3 weeks. After that it's in the mind. And how to cope with that part is an individual thing. It's mostly keeping your mind on something else. Just don't give up. Sorry to hear both Esteban and Larry lost siblings. That's a big one for sure. I didn't realize how long it had been since I lost my only brother. It still feels like just the other day. Great advise. You too Esteban.

  28. Best Service is NOW showing $299 for the TS Max to Max Upgrade...so that's probably the price that IK will have... Crossgrade is $699 Maxgrade is $495 and $999 full price https://www.bestservice.com/search.html

  29. I’m seeing same price as Barrie mentioned, $499 crossgrade/upgrade price for full. $399 for total studio Max 3 SE. Also own almost everything with couple minor exceptions. They are nuts to think I’ll pay $499 for what I’m missing but it’s IK so we know how that goes and totally expected to get miffed when I looked at the price....they also milked total studio Max 2 for so long they must be counting on those folks biting the upgrade/crossgrade offer...I guess.

  38. Thanks Shane. I had cataract surgery yesterday morning. I had an eye patch all day. I drove XX crazy saying arrhhhh before anything I said. I was on drugs so it wasn't my fault. I'm getting my other eye done Thurday so that will be over with. I'm still on antibotics with over a week to go then I will have the feeding tube put in. Eating has become very dificult the last couple of months and I choke on everything I try to swallow. I just don't get any pleasure out of eataing nowadays. I feel poorly too. Hopefully better days are ahead so I will smile and assume it is so.

  42. The vast majority of crashes and instability problems I had went away when I read this advice elsewhere years ago and started following it. The first thing I do now is pick a motherboard then go to the manufacturer's website and do a search for supported ram and cpu's. I always go with non-overclockable set speed RAM and prefer Kingston.

  43. Dang, @Pete Brown, your approach to malware defense is so....rational. As opposed to crusty like mine or fear-mongering. 😁 Thanks for outlining the steps that you, as a savvy home network administrator, take. I've been away from IT as a profession so long that I've barely heard of "drive-by malware." Or Pi-Hole. My home firewallin' is done with DD-WRT-on-yardsale-Linksys. If there were people under voting age at my place, I'd be so fearful I'd probably set up an entirely separate network to prevent my Roku Box getting pwnd. I haven't disabled Defender, just the realtime scanning part of it (which choice is, I believe, more exposed on Pro). I use it ad hoc when I download .EXE's, and I do nothing to stop it from doing its thing during "idle" periods. I'm not against anti-malware software, just the kind that stays running all the time constantly examining my computer activity to make sure I'm not doing something to ruin my system. When I moved my main DAW system from Windows 7 to 10 and Cakewalk playback got noticeably balkier was when I fired up Resource Monitor. It revealed that A. Cakewalk streams every audio file in the project whether or not it's associated with an unmuted clip (unless it's entirely owned by an archived track) and B: Defender was malware-scanning my audio files, plug-ins, and other .dll's every time Cakewalk read them. At the time I had a spinny drive (a pretty fast one, but spinny nonetheless). 6 takes of drums x 4 drum tracks was (at least) 24 audio files filtering through the Defender engine every time I hit Play. I had to figure out how to put a stop to that and figured out how to turn off realtime scanning before I learned about folder and process exclusion. I'll look into Pi-Hole. I use Ad-Block for my browsers (and politely disable it on sites that ask politely), but having something stop those scripts and apps before they get to my trailing edge devices makes perfect sense.
