  9. 25% off can get you Abbey Road Orchestral Foundations for $261.75! That's a great deal! BBC Core would be $300 if you get Discovery, because that price comes off the $449 Core Price and then 25% off of that would be $300

  11. sent my request number off to Koby but can't help thinking a year of slate bundle is $12.50 a month, and WUP is more than that for plugins that were already "purchased." We get OS/DAW compatibility updates but they would need to create those even without WUP to be able to be able to keep the plugins on the market.

  16. @garybrun, please find my template in the link as promised! The template is a combination of several template tutorials I’ve followed: Mainly Building a DAW Mix Template (since I consider that one the most useful for my workflow and kind of recording –mainly pop, jazz, rock, soundtrack, classical- hardly any EDM) and some others worth mentioning: Andrew Scheps mixing & template tips, and Mikael Baggström’s Youtube channel (who gives his own interesting twist to templates and workflow) Notes: Notes field: contains guidelines about calculating time settings for delay and compressor Many tracks and busses have info (Track Properties -> Description) that explains what and why All tracks (repair, test drum, test vox, reference tracks, Mock-up) that are not meant to be in the mix are routed to the NoMix bus (clearly visible, in order to avoid mistakenly messing up the mix), which is muted when mixing Orchestral tracks are limited for scenarios. I’m planning to make a separate full orchestral template. Metronome bus is placed to be the separation between instruments and FX busses Master bus inserts => FreeG (very clear, big faders for gain staging - found thanks to CbB Gain Staging, one of the great tutorials of @Creative Sauce)+ AB plugins I haven’t figured out yet which EQ settings are the best start per track/bus. So far, I’ve mainly shelved off some low frequencies in a part of the tracks in order to start with a little cleaner signal. Also, still figuring out what FX settings would be most efficient as a start point for each of the busses in the template. Feedback on this (and other parts of the template) is very welcome! Remarks: Having many plugins preloaded (even when all are frozen/inactive) as was shown in the tutorial I’ve followed made loading the template annoyingly slow (despite a using a Threadripper PC with fast SSDs). However, having all preferred plugins readily available already inserted where you need them has been proven to save me lots of time. While making the template I noticed that is very easy to lose custom colours (for some reason the ones I save are lost after a while from the colour options menu)) and that it is not so easy to copy a colour from let’s say a bus to a track folder. I noticed after uploading the template there are still some colours different from what I intended In the link are the template + pictures with my mainly custom icons used in the template (the custom pictures are not saved with the template, I think it should be optional to choose to do so or leave them in the standard icons folder). I’ve tried to insert pictures in my posts, but dragging them into the post field has not worked and uploading them to another server and inserting a hyperlink has also not worked. No clue what goes wrong? Template in the link below: CbB template

  17. The non-tongue-in-cheek answer is: a) Find out when your WUP expired b) Go to https://www.waves.com/downloads/release-notes and read what has been updated since (note that the page initially shows v12 and you'll need to click on the tabs for v11 etc). You probably want to search the page for the bundles that you have (except the Abbey Road bundle, of course) and see which plugins have been added to them. Example: If you have Mercury, the following plugins have been added to it over the last few years: (2017) BSS DPR-402, X-FDBK, Scheps Parallel Particles, Waves Tune Real-Time, Greg Wells series, Primary Source Expander, Smack Attack, F6 Floating-Band Dynamic EQ, Brauer Motion, CLA MixDown, Torque (2018) Scheps Omni Channel, PRS SuperModels, Electric Grand 80, Sibilance, (2019) CLA MixHub, Submarine, Infected Mushroom Pusher, Berzerk Distortion, MDMX Distortion Modules (2020) MultiMod Rack, Playlist Rider, Kaleidoscopes, CLA EchoSphere, CLA Epic, (2021) Vocal Bender Like many other products, if you can wait and not upgrade right away but every 2 or 3 years instead, then upgrading becomes more effective

  18. Hello guys. I just recently finished making my own theme for my projects. I would like to share this because someone asked if I could post it, if I will make one. The base UI for this theme is from the FLAT_WHITE theme. Thanks to @Colin Nicholls for making it. @chris.r Not completely inspected for overlooked color assignments. There are some few drawbacks for the colors selected but I believe this works for my workflow. Merry Christmas everyone. 29. Thanks Larry and Mibby - I'll drop them a line I think and hope the deal is still on when I find out for sure! And on this update, I am going to hunt around my computer and get rid of the hundreds (possible exaggeration) of dll's that seem to be left from previous installs - I started (I think) on Ozone 4, so there seems loads of stuff all over the place Cheers Nigel

  31. Although I have not tried them myself: Shadow Warrior is free to play on Steam and GOG; and Redneck Rampage is £6.99 on Steam and £7.49 on GOG. Steam and GOG also have Shadow Warrior Redux with expansion packs and improved graphics for £6.99. People have also been working on high resolution conversions for both of these games. See here for Shadow Warrior: https://forums.duke4.net/topic/3412-shadow-warrior-high-resolution-pack/. I'm not sure how far they got. Or Google "Shadow Warrior HRP". The only game I ever play is Duke Nukem 3D HRP mostly using the Duke Plus mod, with my own custom soundtrack.

  37. are your monitors functioning when you play an MP3 file or something from YouTube? if not, step one is to make sure the speakers are connected to your outputs on the UMC interface, levels are up enough to hear sounds, and any "USB <> Direct" knob is set to USB. make sure you're getting sounds from Windows before setting up CbB. you need to go to the preferences section and make sure your audio device is selected for both inputs and outputs. if you don't see in the device list, you need to make sure the ASIO setting is selected under the playback and recording section, then select the device. it's a good idea to check settings and make sure you have 24 bit selected in the driver settings section. close the preferences. if you run your demo project, you should hear it. if not: in your project, you need to make sure either the track(s) or master bus are set to use the device output. and when recording, the track needs to have its input set to the device channel (left, right, stereo) you have your instrument or mic plugged into. arming the track let's you see the input meter operate so you can adjust your input level on the interface to put the meter at -18db to -12db peaks.

  44. I am a few days in to Premiere. One thing that really helped was installing the sideshow fx profiles. That way I started out with all the keyboard shortcuts pre-mapped to buttons. So if I want to do something, all I have to do is find the button. And I've watched a ton of Premiere Pro tutorials on the Adobe site to learn the workflow. I have a lot to learn. To me, this is so much better than Vegas or any other editing program I've used. I feel exactly the way I did when I got Omnisphere. Why the hell didn't I get this long ago? I'm just getting started, but it is sooooo powerful. So far it hasn't crashed. I'm sure it often will. Cubase crashes. Photoshop crashes. It happens. Vegas crashes too much for me. And then there's the plugins. It's like getting full Kontakt. Once you have it you can go on the web and find all this amazing free transitions and effects Better than things I paid big bucks to buy from NewBlue. (All my NewBlue plugins work though) It's the same. Everybody wants to give you freebies, so you will discover their companies and buy stuff. I can't wait for Black Friday! There are plugin packages I have looked at for a long time. Now I'm going to get some of them. @cclarry What are the rules here? Do you want me to share deals and sales on Premiere Plugins? 😃

  45. So here is the BANE of my Vegas Pro Workflow Killer. I accidentally set some loop points as I was selecting the video clip on the timeline and tried clicking PLAY. First sign that you are done! White Screen Of Death! Then you look in TASK MANAGER and it is always the FILE I?O surrogate (not visible) (32 bit) that seems to be the main culprit in this nightmare. So it gets very frustrating as evident with Reid's experience. If you do not constantly hit save, it is almost impossible to anticipate where this will happen. Also, even though Vegas does save recovery files in the background, there is not sure fire indication it is not several edits behind where you were. So Reid, I really do feel your pain in this situation, and yet here I am hitting the same walls, maybe someone knows of a Vegas Pro recovery support group, but it is probably obvious that it is on a Davinci Resolve or Premier user forum. We'll get there eventually. ;^)
