  1. Hi Everyone I really hope this is alright to post here I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone in the Songs forum for all the help, advice and support I have received over the years. I don’t think we would have progressed without all this help and advice. Devine lie has just hit a couple of landmarks. We have just broken the Twenty Thousand Subscriber on mark YouTube and the lead track off our last album, Indelible Stain, has just reached TWO MILLION VIEWS!!!!! I think this track has done so well because I do think the track is strong, but the video is even stronger! – probably one of the best videos we have ever done I have posted it below if you haven’t seen it or listened to it before. Again thanks to everyone – we really appreciate it Nigel

  2. The Preparato Piano prepared piano is superb. But if anyone is looking for the best free pianos for KONTAKT, SonicCouture's Hammersmith Free (works with the free KONTAKT Player) and 8Dio's 1928 Piano top that list and none of the piano libraries on the list linked above even come close to the quality and depth of those two.

  6. 👍 ‘s Nigel. This is great news! Exactly why I have stressed to the forum that each and every Subscribe, Like, and Comment is so important. It’s like a snowball. Keep it rolling and it grows and grows. Persaverance and hard work do pay off. You’ve proven that! So proud of the forum that we were able to play a small part in helping you achieve this goal. And of course, so proud of Devine Lie! All the best my friend, all the best! t

  10. Boz Digital Labs has released a new plugin and a new installer for their pianos. It's called Master Keys and it's one plugin that allows you to change the piano within the plugin. https://www.bozdigitallabs.com/ https://www.bozdigitallabs.com/my-account/downloads/ I got a lot crackling noises with the previous plugin. Hopefully this new one fixes that problem. I've tested it a bit and so far so good but the previous one also worked sometimes, and the next time you opened the plugin the crackling came back.

  13. Although technically possible, it's not really feasible from a performance point of view - it would mean checking the current strips hidden status matches the presets and/or "Show only" options every time the menu is opened, or any time it evaluates whether a command can be processed.

  16. Given how many users are not experiencing such a problem, even if the problem is specific to this release, there must also be some project/setup-specific factor involved, in which case nothing will get 'fixed' if you don't share the project in question with the Bakers or otherwise provide steps to reproduce it.

  17. I have two 2 TB Samsung T7 USB3.2 external SSDs, one for work files and seldom/never used Kontakt instruments, and the other for backups. They're great. I spent the money for a 2 TB Samsung X5 Thunderbolt 3 external SSD for a samples drive. It was between 2 to 3 times more expensive and 2 to 3 times the size. And it runs warm. But where the T7's are about 9x faster than a 7500 RPM spinner, the X5's are about 40 times faster. I've never had a single glitch running a sampled VI.

  18. I've never had that many plugins on a track in over 20 years of doing this. Some of those that yuou do have are memory & cpu intensive, and the VX64 is know to be unstable Forgive me for suggesting this, but you might want to re-examine your workflow

  22. My second collaboration with my good friend Alan Petersen. This song will be included on my upcoming fifth solo instrumental album. The song is in two parts with the second being very much in the Latin rock feel. This production was recorded and mixed with Cakewalk. The sessions were videoed and then edited in Magix Vegas. I used 10 mics to record the drums, bass was recorded directly via the Kemper Rack, guitars were also recorded directly with the Kemper. Piano was played on the Yamaha P45 using the Rhodes patch. Acoustic guitar was an Ibanez Artwood. There were a few VSTs used for the “ambient” synth sounds. My only regret was that I was unable to film the recording of the percussion tracks. Look forward to any feedback. Thanks!

  23. Update - I decided to open an Etsy shop to see if I could sell a few ukes, and fund the next instrument design. Would you like your own custom, 3D printed uke? I'd be happy to give a discount to forum members thanks to all the help and feedback that has been provided along the way in my musical journey. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1696540481/3d-printed-soprano-ukulele This one has been quite the project. I got it into my head a while ago that it would be fun to write and record a song on an instrument that I made. Since my woodworking skills are non-existent, I turned to 3D design and printing. Since I was doing 3D printing, that meant the instrument was going to be a ukulele. Designing and printing a ukulele that sounded halfway decent turned out to take a fair bit longer than I was planning. But I'm pretty happy with the result. Ukology is the demo song, using the 3D printed ukes. Hope you enjoy. And if you have a 3D printer, and would like to print one, you can get the files here: https://www.printables.com/model/806849-soprano-ukulele/related#tabs Jeff

  25. I found a workaround for the tech issues. I re-connected all the synths from the non-functioning pre-amp unit to one I barely use (I have 4 and mostly use 3). The issues are still the same but somehow this works. I can't use headphones, that signal is still overloaded with white noise (a sign of samplerate mismatch, so I contacted RME support). It is weird, because the incoming signal is ok but the outgoing not. Luckily my father got out of bed today (12 hours after surgery!) and walked a bit. This is such a crappy weekend. On top of everything there was a hostage situation (!!) 5 minutes from my house. Snipers, bombsquad, DSI (the guys who get called in by SWAT or even military units to 'handle things'), the whole nine yards.

  32. Sounds pretty cool. Those fills and rolls and stuff are not easy to program from scratch. Impressive. I'm a drummer and the drums sound realistic enough for contemporary styles. So many live drum performances these days are gridded after being played that the lack of imperfections in the timing isn't as much of a giveaway as it used to be, and if it's going to be a loud, busy rock mix, the instruments that you do play live will help cover for that. If you haven't already done so, nudging velocities at random spots can help further the illusion of a live drummer playing. I'm not versed enough in post-hardcore to say for sure, but the one thing I might adjust would be to use a snare sound where you can hear more snare wire. That's just a personal thing, I do not like the pank-pank snare sound. I loved The Police, and Copeland's drumming, but that damned clanky steel snare detracted from their sound (to my ears). I play an Acrolite (aluminum) and tune it deeper and wetter, but I don't play post-hardcore either. Since your drums are canned, you can change out drum sounds at will. It all depends on how it sounds in the mix, though, and personal preferences and traditional sounds for different genres. What you have here should work fine.

  37. Don't let the damage fool you, I'm not much of a guitar player, despite spending so much time on it and ruining the paint on so many guitars. But love to learn. This dates from few years ago when I was trying to learn one of the solos that made me want to play electric guitar when I was a kid. Captured by the laptop mic so the quality is horrendous (but the goal was only to track my progress). I kind of cringe at some of the sloppiness in there now but it's the only "shredding" type of video I have...

  43. @Tim Smith Hi Tim. RUSH fan here I say that as the Rush guitarist Alex lifeson ( Classically trained ) uses a sort of major chord "Cheat" inversion up and down the neck for barred chords like F etc. I learned this from an Iron maiden & Camel session guitarist back in the day. It looks like this: So You can bar just the A D G B string with 2nd finger ( thumb is first in my language ), then use 4th 5th finger to hold down G string at the 5th fret and B string at 6th fret. This cheat also helps your finger stretch with a bit of practice. Dont need to play the two outer E strings. Slid this up and down the fret board to get F F# G etc etc.

  44. Best sounding virtual grand I've ever played. If you want it, though, you might hold off until MSoundFactory LE comes up in an Eternal Madness or periodic 50% off sale. It comes with every MSoundFactory instrument, which includes Meldway Grand. The Monastery Grand that comes with the free MSoundFactory Player ain't no slouch either.

They don't provide the instant profit shareholders demand and fail to keep users tied to an ancient piece of software which hasn't received significant updates for the last 20 years." Perhaps you missed ripple editing, articulation maps, tempo tracks, and numerous stability fixes while it's been free Maybe you're barking up the wrong tree? My version runs better than it ever did before Bandlab took over
