  5. Got the email today from Steinberg: "Save 30% on Cubase" Are they hearing the drumbeat we don't? I remember at the time of Gibson saga they were the first ones to "reach out" with friendly offers Bandlab, don't fall asleep, we are counting on you and the right decisions you will make on licensing and pricing.

  10. It's a reminder that the current lease period will expire in that amount of time based on what we've received from the back end. You're fully activated, it is just saying "if you want to stay activated beyond that, you'll need to renew before that time". It might be worth tweaking the language, we'll look into it.

  13. Hi all , another new song . . . it's a collaboration with one of my favourite UK songwriters "Wicked Deeds" (as he's known on Soundcloud) . . . been following him for a few years, and finally got an opportunity to do something together. Just simple, 2 guitars strumming and vocals for now . . . might expand it another day . . .

  17. I will do a side by side test. It might have been the song I chose in Mixcraft. So I had the idea of exporting one of my songs with the 5 tracks Bass, Drums,Vocal,Guitars and then Piano. No reverb or stereo effects. Then I'll run this though the three programs. I'm just downloading the one @azslow3 posted now.

  20. Fracture Sounds sent me a copy a few days ago and it is top of its class. I am planning on featuring it this Thursday during Piano Day ;^) There is a FREE Blueprint based on some of their recordings for this one that I haven’t been able to check out yet. Over the past months Fracture Sounds has made a huge dynamic shift and I think it comes from the addition of Angus and more from Dan Keen, they are definitely on an upward trajectory. Stay tuned! Joyfully, Simeon * I have been blessed to have a relationship with the Fracture Sounds team which has allowed me to experience and share their beautiful instruments.

  21. It seems when bad companies buy out good companies this type of decline happens more often than not. I remember when Maxtor bought out Seagate. Maxtor drives were notorious for failing. Seagate were my go to drives for years before the buy out. Sure enough after the merger guess what? Seagate failures began to increase. I had to switch to WD. I expect more declines and issues with NI and Izotope as well as PA over the coming years. Sad stuff. But they'll milk it dry and ruin it for many in the meantime. Profiteering at it's worst. Good luck to us all.

  22. BTW I did open a bug report with Cakewalk over this issue and they said they are looking into it. Root of issue is change in VST3 spec. Spec NOW specifies the usage of the “MyPlugin.vst3” folder as ‘a bundlelike package’ containing the plugin and all additional resource files useful for the plug-in. In previous SDKs, the VST 3 plug-in was defined as a single dll file with the .vst3 extension. This has been deprecated since VST 3.6.10. You can move the whole MyPlugin.VST3 folder, for example into subfolder for organization, but extracting the plugin might cause issues. In some cases (like with United Audio VST3s) moving the embedded plugin out of its .vst3 folder will break it (UA plugins loose their skins). Currently the VST scanner doesn’t account for VST3 plugins transitioning from the pre VST 3.6.10 spec to the current.

  26. The solution to get Psyn II to display in Sonar is to disable Enhanced Display Scaling in Edit > Preferences > Customization > Display | Enhanced Display Scaling (requires restart). I’ve seen other display issues that can be resolved by not having this option enabled, but that’s a discussion for the Beta forum.

  27. I love celestes, but I already own several celeste libraries I'm very fond of. The demo does sound beautiful and I think this developer has proven themselves to be a very talented, high quality shop based on tbeir freebies alone. Maybe I'll pick this up down the road. I'm sure it would be a nice addition to my collection. I'd love to hear from anyone who picks this up.

  40. https://www.audiothing.net/effects/dub-filter/ 29€ 59€ Dub Filter is free for previous owners of our discontinued product Dub Station. If you own Outer Space and/or Springs, you can get an additional discount. Check your user area. Dub Filter is a filter plugin modeled after King Tubby’s iconic Big Knob, a passive high-pass filter with eleven frequency steps from 70Hz to 7.5KHz. This filter defined the sound of the entire “roots” era of Jamaican music. On top of the main stepped Frequency knob and the Impedance (resonance), the filter also offers control over its behavior including Magnetism, Character, Dynamics, and Artefacts controls. We have also included two modulation sources, LFO and Envelope Follower, to enhance the creative possibilities of the plugin, from rhythmic pulsations to organic filter movements. Dub Filter is available for MAC, PC, and LINUX (VST, VST3, AU, AAX, CLAP, 64-bit only), and also as AUv3 and Standalone on the App Store.

  45. This is a timely post. When I tried to insert a TONEX plugin, CbB displayed the "... plug-in failed to load (80004002)..." error. The path for TONEX is: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\TONEX.vst3\Contents\x86_64-win\TONEX.vst3 . "TONEX.vst3" is the DLL name and is part of the file path too. I used the registry trick to clear things out. Then did a VST rescan, and it fixed the problem. I updated my Eventide H9 plugin bundle. Of course, it has the same error others have encountered. I'll try your temporary move suggestion to fix this these plugins. Hopefully the Cakewalk Bakers are aware of this issue. Thanks for the tip!
