  2. The licenses are tied to your user account. As long as you log out of your account before changing your motherboard, you should be alright. I once had an issue long ago and contacted Microsoft. They just asked for some information on the hardware changes and were able to re-authorize my system. By the way, I have bought a number of keys from royalcdkeys website over the years for my systems for both MS Windows and MS Office for a few dollars each, and never had any issues with authorizing them. They sent me the keys immediately upon purchase. They also have a somewhat helpful faq about these keys.

  4. - Pulsar 1178: classic FET sound with a twist, the twist being added saturation of different types - Empirical Labs Arousor (low CPU) or UAD Distressor (high CPU): emulations of a modern classic. Can be more aggressive than the 1178 (or 1176 for that matter) - P11 Abyss can do anything you could ever want out of a compressor, including SMACK on the highest PSI setting. But you're very much not going to like the price point. - DMG Audio TrackComp 2 in 76 or 160 modes: top of the line 1176 and dbx160 emulations. - Aberrant DSP Shapeshifter: honourable mention. Smack with a twist. Definitely not a goto, but can be a secret weapon. edit: let me add UAD dbx160. Incredibly low on CPU and there likely isn't a more "iconic" click/pop transient sound, at least not for kick and snare.

  5. And that's why I ordered it. I don't need to add any plugins or forget to switch them off when bouncing 🙂 I can also hear everything at calibration level, YouTube Spotify Bluetooth etc. I was looking to get the Trinnov... but I don't need that now. 🙂 I believe this will sell a lot of product for them.

  6. With the ARC studio hardware you no longer need to bypass the ARC software as it is only in the signal path to your monitors it is not in the mix path.

  8. Turning off room correction before bounce, for me, is just muscle memory. It's like forgetting to hit the record button and the artist wants to murder me after missing a perfect take. Lesson learned quickly! I think the Studio box is a good solution for studios with one set of monitors and an interface with comparable A/D/A specs. For me, it's not a viable option as I have multiple monitors and a live room with listen-back speakers. I use an Audient Nero as my central monitor station and it's one of the best studio purchases I've ever made. Amazing little box, really. I also bought the RME UFX3, in part, because of the converters. It sounds amazing. For me, I think the box would be a downgrade. I'm not sure I'll upgrade to ARC4, personally. Though I have both, I prefer Sonarworks to ARC3 in my studio as I think it gives me a more accurate picture of the low end in my room. And, with the cans profiles I can use it with cue mixes. I just have to remember not to be an idiot and turn off the correction!

  9. Nice point. His records were some of my first with Pete Seger and Phil ochs. I still know all the words to zillions of those songs. I was a junky.

  13. This really captures the retro sound of the post New Wave era. The mix is perfect as is the instrumentation. Interesting lyrics and your vocals are outstanding! Excellent stuff!

  14. VERY NICE INDEED! The flow of the song is very rhythmic and carries the instrumentation and vocals nicely. The guitar work is indeed well done as is the bass. Oh yes, the mix sounds very good! I enjoyed listening to this

  22. Mibby, when using the Console app with Apollo in Windows, when you send the daw signal to the Apollo, it goes to the apollo, not through Console. As Tommy has pointed out, there are virtual channels that allow you to send things different places. What I do when using ARC is place it in a fx bin of a buss in my DAW (CbB) set it's input to get signal from my Main buss, and then send the output of the Arc Buss to Apollo (UAD Monitor S). All trks >>Main Buss>>Arc Buss>>Apollo. HTH

  24. Hi Mark . . . Great energetic piece ! . . . liking this one a lot . . . you move between acoustic and electric guitar so smoothly here. You mentioned "Been playing with some vox", so, what about a theme of Country vs. City ? (acoustic is the country, electric is the city) Also, super harmonica playing, really enjoyed that. (sounds like you and FedEx totally delivered) Bruce

  28. Thanks for the reply. Yes it's G#. Before I got very far into recording playing with some vocals , I just tuned down a 1/2 step as I normally do. Didn't bother to rename the track.. @KSband Appreciate it. I actually did enjoy doing the different (for me) electric stuff. I Really enjoyed doing the harmonica . I had to wait for one to arrive in the offset key. I remember when good blues harps were cheap ! So .. I had to buy a new soldering station , a pack of usb connectors and a harp just to get this one done. The party never ends .. mark

  30. There are 2 categories, one with the core course material and the other with bonus content. The core course has videos with Joe explaining is songwriting process system that he refined over the years. He shares content and gives homeworks to end up gradually with a full song written by the end of the course. He’s also doing all the homeworks as well so that we can see his way of creating gradually a song (riff and hooks, melody, lyrics, etc.). The bonus content includes his songwriting process on some of his original songs, and also other stuff (how to finish, songwriting tools, etc.).

  34. Downloaded and tried it. It sounds truly excellent lol. It does use a fair bit of CPU. It's neural/sampling tech, similar to Acustica. But I never heard an Acustica compressor that sounds as good as this one.

  36. I am sure, but only just! I refreshed after I posted and your post wasn't there. If you refresh a few times so not right at the start of the minute, you will also see my post will show as a minute ahead, so there definitely wasn't much in it 🤣 I'm not really worried either way though, I more just mentioned it because it keeps the history more lean when searching for old posts and sales if we're thinking about buying things. And you're not wrong with Lars.. even getting a tie would be an achievement at times.. Haha..

  43. We're pleased to announce the 2024.02 release! This release is primarily a maintenance release that includes a few bug fixes. It also adds compatibility for the new Cakewalk Product Center application and again allows for offline activation. Please note: CbB will eventually be discontinued as future development and support will transition to the upcoming Cakewalk Sonar release. If you wish to continue to use CbB, you must update to the 2024.02 version. Earlier versions will cease to activate in the future. BandLab Assistant is no longer used for installing or activating CbB or other Cakewalk products. You must use in-app activation as described below. You can continue to use BandLab Assistant, but not for Cakewalk products. In order to activate CbB, you must sign in to your BandLab account by choosing Help > Sign In to BandLab. If you have never signed in to BandLab from within Cakewalk, you will be prompted to sign in. When the sign-in web page opens, enter your BandLab credentials to sign in from there. If activation was successful, you will receive a "Cakewalk is fully activated" confirmation message. Note: Opening a web browser to independently sign in to BandLab will not activate Cakewalk. As long as you stay signed in from within Cakewalk, activation status is automatically renewed periodically with no manual intervention required. Note that if your system is offline or you are not signed in to BandLab from within Cakewalk, then Cakewalk product activation will expire after some time. You will need to either reactivate as above or perform an offline activation process. See Product Center for more information. The TTS-1 synth is no longer installed by Cakewalk, by request from Roland. This product is no longer supported and has reached end of life. Older installed versions may continue to work but it is no longer a default for insert instrument. Thanks, The Bakers To download and install the 2024.02 update, select Help > Check for Updates from within the app. Note: Because earlier versions of Cakewalk can no longer be activated, there is no rollback installer available for the 2024.02 release. 2024.02 Highlights Updated to 29.09.0.098 This build contains the following improvements: CbB has been updated to work with the new Cakewalk Product Center. Offline activation is now available via Product Center. Improvements to sign in process with new activation response and error pages. Signing in to BandLab no longer redirects you to the BandLab portal after sign in. Cakewalk no longer automatically launches the browser to sign in at app startup. The Sonar promotional window should not appear when running CbB offline (at this time). Updates for Sonar promotional window content. Fixed problems with unresponsive Sonar promotional window. Fixes for analytics and app startup. Fixes for in-app updates. New Cakewalk Product Center The new Cakewalk Product Center application has been released. This app will be the central portal to install and manage all future Cakewalk products going forward. Offline activation for Cakewalk and future products is available via Product Center. Click the link below to read more about Cakewalk Product Center. Latest release notes are here. See prior release notes. Check out all new features released to date.
