  2. I was getting glitches, pops, clicks, dropouts... Ran across a utube vid... Turns out it was Windows Defender. On the virus page, way at the bottom, is a tab called Exclusions. I excluded my J: drive, where most of my samples are, and cakewalk and cubase project folders and the folders where I write my exports. Not one glitch in an entire day! Maybe you guys already had this one nailed down, but it was news to me and a big deal...

  5. Hi Brian, Just wanted to say that we've become aware of this issue and are investigating it. Cakewalk hasn't historically been a host that we test in, and we don't usually have reports of issues from Cakewalk users. This new issue is due to recent changes in Steinberg's VST3 specification. While our plugins are working perfectly in other VST3 hosts at this time, for some reason, Cakewalk is having trouble loading them. In the mean time, we recommend all Cakewalk users roll back to the previous version of Kazrog plugins. Very sorry for any inconvenience!

  6. Or with Ripple edit on - use CTRL A to select all - snap on - drag project to desired location. This will also move automation, tempo map , arranger etc. Im not sure using insert measure does all that. As said always remember to turn ripple editing off. Ripple Editing is global to many music and video editing apps. It’s a lifesaver for inserting or removing segments of any multi track projects. But selecting all is important for it to work.

  7. the latest versions of the Karzog plugins use a ".vst3" extension on the folder which causes the scanning of those plugins to pass, but not actually reach the real plugin DLL themselves. i've notified the Karzog support folks. in the meantime, if you remove the ".vst3" from the folder they will work. the VST 2 are not affected as they don't have that extension.

  10. You're using the wrong command. Project->Insert Time will do what you want. Process->Slide does something different... kinda complicated to explain, but it's all to do with closing gaps: - If you slide a clip by one measure and there's more than a measure gap between the clip you're moving and the next clip, the next clip will remain where it is. - If you slide a clip by one measure and there's less than a measure gap between the clip you're moving and the next clip, the next clip will move by the the sliding amount minus the original gap.

  11. couple of thoughts - use Ripple Edit (turn on when needed, turn off immediately after), and use the project > insert time/measures as i think there are more options there. remember to turn off Ripple Edit after you make the move otherwise you can really skew the project... as to why "slide" is misbehaving, no idea, never use it.

  13. I am watching it right now and came to see if the link had been posted. What an amazing musician he is! I personally think that he stands in a class of his own. IMHO he's the most versatile of that generation of shredders. You can feel his genuine love for simpler idioms, like blues. He’s not holding back anything, he is giving his all to that simpler form. He has that authenticity and that respect for the genre, and even if he has mad skills, he’s not using it as a platform to glorify Paul Gilbert - instead he becomes a blues guitarist. And that goes for everything he plays. Becoming ego-less is probably the toughest skill a musician can acquire - it’s possibly even tougher when you’re blessed with so much talent. Much respect to Gilbert.

  14. So in for a dime, in for a dollar? No offense intended but that's a whole lot of work (all unpaid) for anyone to take on. Can't see anyone who's got a life (bills, family, working on an artistic endeavors, etc.) knowingly taking that on. I don't think the term "improved" has been used in context with these offerings; the wording on the website is "Assorted supplementary presets". I can't and won't speak for Greg, as I don't know and it's not my job, but I do know from personal experience that updating a publicly released software product is not something you take on lightly as it is always a PITA (updating & testing installers, updating distribution system, updating documentation & website, notifying users, responding to users inquiries or issues, etc.) and when you update something people think you're lazy or lack diligence for not updating all the others (what no new banjo or kazoo presets?). I am happy that Greg gave us what he did and look forward to any future tidbits that he would care to share.

  17. My favorite place was the Chacchoben Mayan Ruins at Costa Maya (Mahahual is the City - Costa Maya is the Port). It was literally in the Jungle, and there were Spider Monkeys jumping around in the trees. The ruins were amazing to see in person. I also saw the Tulum Mayan Ruins at Cozumel. We had to take a ferry across to the mainland (Playa Del Carmen) from Cozumel, which took an hour, and then take a bus for another hour to Tulum. It also was spectacular, but not as much as Chacchoben. Tulum is the only Mayan City built on the Coast. All others are inland. New York was awesome! I got to see the Dakota Building, where John Lennon lived (and was shot). There is a picture of it in my pics. Far better than I expected. I FINALLY got to take a tour of Miami, despite having been there 3 times. I had a tour scheduled when I went on the cruise last year in January, but it got cancelled. The Meraviglia is STUNNINLY BEAUTIFUL! Those glass steps in the atrium are Swarovski Crystal!!!

  25. My solution was to use the vst2 version of Synchron Player. I have not found any negatives of using vst2 vs vst3. And instantiating the Synchron window is quicker in vst2.

  27. https://www.discodsp.com/obxd/ What's New: New Unison Voices: This feature allows you to add multiple voice layers to each note played, creating a fuller and richer sound. You can choose from 1 to 16 voices, where each additional voice adds complexity and depth to the sound. For the best effect, use this with the spread control set at half or higher to clearly distinguish the layered voices. This parameter is ideal for enhancing pads, leads, and basslines, offering a thicker, more immersive sonic character. Preset Bar Enhancements. Enhanced 24dB Resonance. Improved Filter Envelope Behavior. Enhanced 2.x Preset Import. Fixed Synth Voice Configuration. Fixed Filter Compensation Parameter Binding, ensuring correct functionality. Octave Tooltip Values now display correctly when Step (Osc Quantize) is enabled. New File > Reset Bank Function. Added File > New Bank Function. Added File Save Preset to Folder. Fixed Step State not locking correctly to the tooltip for semitones. Fixed Preset Bar not refreshing properly. Added Current Bank to plugin get/set state.

  33. There was a group here in Boston (if I remember correctly, they were called 'Band in Boston') that had great horns. The best horns I ever heard live were the E-Street Band. When they came in on Tenth Avenue Freeze Out after the band cooked it on low for about 30 seconds, it about blew the walls off of the Boston Garden. I believe a couple of people actually melted a little.

  39. This is simple. Choose any midi output that shows in preferences Midi devices. The TTS-1 only loads when nothing is selected. This is by design for people with hardware devices connected. Never import a midi file. You loose important data like tempo. Always open midi files. Importing is for existing projects to bring in midi tracks or clips.

  40. The German company's trademarks are legit, and Gibson consented explicitly to their issuance by the USPTO. Per this July 2020 Trademark Consent Agreement between the parties, which was filed with the USPTO, Gibson kept its "WURLITZER" trademark for use in connection with "jukeboxes," and the German company received its "WURLITZER" trademark for use in connection with: CLASS 9: Amplifiers; downloadable music files; downloadable ring tones for mobile phones; laptop computers; loudspeakers; magnetic tapes; microphones; sleeves for laptops; notebook computers; portable media players; radios; phonograph records featuring music; record players; selfie sticks; smartphones; smart watches; smart glasses; headphones; in-ear headphones; blank USB flash drives; wireless headsets for cellular or mobile phones and computers; blank Credit card-style USB flash drives CLASS 15: Cases for musical instruments; Clarinets; Electronic musical keyboards; Electronic musical instruments; Glockenspiels; Horns; Mouthpieces for musical instruments; Music synthesizers; Organs; Recorders; Reeds for use in woodwind mouthpieces; Stands for musical instruments; Triangles CLASS 35: Carrying out auction sales; Providing on-line auction services; Provision of an online marketplace for buyers and sellers of goods and services. This is in addition to the two other "WURLITZER" trademarks (issued in connection with different classes of goods/services), referenced above, which were issued to the German company after Gibson withdrew its objections. It's all right there, in the text and links provided above for your dining and dancing pleasure.

  42. I own the full version of this and it's my least favourite pipe organ of the ones I own. But yeah, probably great for a freebie. The only other Kontakt Player freebie pipe organ I'm aware of is the Sonuscore one and that's very low detail, borderline lofi.

  44. I am in the same boat with this. With FX pre-baked into the samples (all 36GB of them) and a rudimentary GUI, the limitations outweigh the usefulness for me. I forget now which newer instrument I had caught a review of, but the GUI being used replicated LABS enough that I passed on watching the rest of it. LABS was definitely good exposure to Spitfire as a whole though, so I did pick up a few other things along the way.

  45. No. Sidechaining reverb to vocals wasnt really used until the 2000's, but it was a common technique in the film industry on screams and explosions and mostly on claps and snares in both Film and Music. As for the "Sidechain" technique itself - that has been around since the 1930's.
