  1. An accurate emulation of the Neumann w495 3-band EQ Neumann w495 EQ’s were used to master 90% of the vinyl records manufactured from the 1970s to the 1990s. But even after this golden age, many mastering engineers still love this EQ. Why? Because the w495 has wide equalization curves that can be pushed to ridiculous levels while remaining musical. The w495 is an easy-to-use tone shaper for individual tracks. But It can also enhance presence and depth of an entire mix. But we’ve taken Pulsar W495 even further, adding all the key features you would expect from a modern EQ plugin, including visual curve editing for a fast workflow. From channel EQ to mastering EQ, Pulsar w495 is an easy-to-use powerful tone shaper, faithfully emulated from an iconic 3 band EQ. https://pulsar.audio/w495/

  4. I think it's somewhat obvious. They have to have a set cutoff point to all aspects of development and support to a product that will soon be only a courtesy of the people responsible for sustaining this fab product. It is time for us all to move on. With the work they allotted, this is the end of fixing for Cakewalk by Bandlab. Wonderful memories, much gratitude, tons of music, and looking forward to this products future which is now Sonar By Cakewalk! At Last! We're home again!

  6. my guess is GR7 should have newer and fancier effects. It's always been a great effects tool. As someone who uses Mixbox a lot, I would say, it makes sense to get it if you are a user of TRacks. It's very handy to have access to those modules all in one slot. In my case, I am a big user I got pretty geeky with it. I would read the IKM manual and then I dig up other articles on the units it emulates and go in there and tinker to see what it all can do. . So I am familiar with the stuff I like to use. I have other stuff in my collection, but defer to Mixbox as its much lighter on CPU compared to some other stuff i have. YMMV.

  7. I can recommend this. Huge selection of modules, good sound quality, easy to use, good presets. An alternative is PSP Infinistrip which I like more. Mixbox does not put you through all the installation hoops IKM is famous for. It's an integrated solution.

  12. Yes Lord, I totally agree to this! One thing that you are missing IMO is the authorization thing. For me (and maybe some others, too) it is also relevant what we get to own! If we get a version of a software with a real offline authorization (like Reaper) that we are able to use and authorize even on a new computer anytime, or if we get at least a version of a software that can be authorized on a new computer as long as the company is alive, or if we get a software that has to be re-authorized after a certain time! Also if I buy a car I prefer that I am able to run it independently of the company's future or other dependencies. Sure I will depend on repair parts, but usually that can be solved in another way.

  13. I think it's more important to point out that an EA is a candidate for final release, not a beta. As such, it should be quite solid and stable but it's always possible that a new feature has issues with a certain workflow or project configuration that was not encountered by the beta team or that some change introduced a regression in related functionality. I would therefore advise that EA users who encounter problems should review the list of fixes/features in the EA release post to see if there's anything there that seems even remotely related to the issue they're having. If the code that governs the functionality they're using hasn't been touched, it's highly unlikely the issue is new and specific to the EA release, and it should be reported in the generic Feedback thread instead of the EA release thread or - better yet - posed as an open question to the community to see if non-EA adopters can reproduce it. It's human nature to attribute "new" problems to recent changes, and being aware of correlations like that is an important part of troubleshooting, but you have to take care not to jump to conclusions.

  22. Top notch sounds and capabilities in Avenger! Including drums that can be included or not and modified for a selected preset. Avenger blows me away with great sounds and presets each time I use it. Each preset pack has a good selection of groupings, such as synths, or pads - and each preset pack also has sequences which really amaze and often include drums etc. While those sequences are really well done, for me, they are also over-automated. Meaning I have to turn off stuff like the arps or drums on a sequence preset to really use it in on my own song composition. Or at least I have to figure out how to modify and/or control those automated aspects to fit my song, Even though I am an admirer of Avenger and their (expensive) high-quality preset packs, I actually use Spire much more often. I find with Spire I am easily able to find the same high-level quality preset sounds like you hear in Avenger but without all the automation. That’s preferable in my case because I’m trying to create songs rather than use someone else’s preset that practically is already a song (as you hear in Avenger or also similarly in Dune 3). With that said, this 50% sale on the Avenger 5-pack is a rare event and a very good deal if wanting to expand on Avenger. Hard to pass up!

  26. I basically feel the same way as you do Keni. I have loved my years with Sonar, starting with Sonar 6 and all the iterations after that including my Lifetime Updates that I purchased. CbB was great for me and I am excited for the future and to see what the new Next and Sonar are. When you do the math it could very well be "less than the total cost one double latte a week from your favorite coffee vendor per year," to continue using my favorite DAW. We all have an individual tolerance for ambiguity, some more, some less. I look forward to the future. Peace!

  27. https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/2-Effects/53-Multi-Effect-/11201-LowSane Rob Papen has introduced a new creative multi-effect plugin designed to treat your audio with some ‘LoFi’ sound sculpting: LowSane. Well, LowSane adapts to this creative process and adds some additional creative options like the ‘Disrupt Sphere’ to this world of crushing down the digital bits! If offers in the audio route a Distortion module, Band Pass / Notch Filter, Lo-Fi section, Hi and low Pass Filters, and a Noise Gate. These parameters can be controlled by the ‘Disrupt Sphere’, and additionally there is also an Audio Follower which again can control the “Disrupt Sphere” or any of the other parameters. Last but not least there is a 2-slot modulation matrix in which you can connect again parameters, or use MIDI to control parameters and also the ‘Disrupt Sphere’. Available for Windows and Mac (VST/VST3, AU and AAX), LowSane is priced $25 USD / 25 EUR

  28. Platinum and Professional are not the same when compared based on the core program alone, excluding plug-ins and add-ons. There's only one difference that I remember but at least Professional didn't have a "Plug-in load balancing" option, it was for Platinum only. From that perspective, CbB is based on Platinum's core program. P.S. It seems the dithering options for Pow-r 1, 2, and 3 were also only available in Platinum.

  30. They have both gone on sale for roughly 40% off during Black Friday's in the past, but I cannot remember if that happened last year(?). The trial on Pro is 30 days and definitely something to try out to see how you like it (be sure to run through the tutorials as well to see what it can do). A lot was added with 14, so for just dabbling you may never need another version of it (MOHO is a perpetual license).

  34. I use a lot of software...Cubase, Nuendo, Samplitude, Sound Forge, Wavelab, etc. and I've only encountered a single bug yet I see some people encounter bugs with absolutely every piece of software under the sun! The bug I ran across was in the last few releases of Sonar and every release of Cakewalk...the software would refuse to see my soundcard and I would have to delete a file and then setup my card like brand new...every time I opened the app! This was with a PCI card(Echo Layla 3G) in Windows 7 Pro so not a USB thing. I'm using a TB3 interface now(Presonus Quantum 2626) in Win 11 Pro and mostly using Nuendo with no problems. My DAW is TB4 but I couldn't find a good affordable interface so I went TB3 Bill
