  1. I did this with Dandy in one of my videos, but this shows you how you can just play chords and get a combined bass and guitar part. See how much fun this is? In terms of forum rules: I have never made one cent from my YouTube videos and don't expect that to ever happen. (There is a tech problem and YouTube offers no customer service to fix it) I have spent thousands of dollars and hours on my videos. I do them now for the love of it, and out of the hope I've helped a few people.

  3. Some old-school fusion for your Sunday listening enjoyment. Great band, great live mix. With his versatility, subtlety, tasteful use of fx and amazing control, this guy's the Japanese Jeff Beck. These days I always check out the amplification and sound system. This is kind of my ideal stage setup: no amps other than floor wedges, mains in stereo and not cluttered with excessive low bass.

  5. Nah. The same way you don't throw out unfashionable clothes, you just store them until they're fashionable again, time resets everything. Keeping my dome shaved is too much work, and my next haircut will likely be in June 2024. The red pigment visible in my thumbnail, however, will unfortunately never return. It was a most pleasant gig. 80 degrees, partly overcast. Nice stage, outdoors in a really cool parklike area behind a diner alongside the North Cascades Highway, a popular summertime tourist route that takes you from the Pacific Ocean to the Cascade Mountains. Many in our audience were motorists who'd heard the music from the highway and pulled in for dinner. That made our employers happy. They gave us food, always a sure way to a musician's heart. Probably literally, in this case. The mood was further enhanced by the gentle incense of a distant wildfire. Mmm, summertime in the Pacific Northwest.

  8. Ended up creating a Learn function for the source and target ranges. Much easier to quickly get the basic settings configured this way. Updated the demo video on the website to see it being used. Lots of user interface improvements as well..

  9. Would I be right in thinking this is kind of like their ReAmp, but instead a single interface to use all of the amps you own inside it? Their website didn't really explain anything and their email was the same. But the name and after messing around with it seem to be that way. I can demo some of the amps I own but probably need to update so they show as registered in Amp Locker I suspect. Actually to unlock the modules it seems to this: If you already have purchased the AHM 5050 or Hellbeast, you just have to register the plugins by accessing the following link: https://register.audioassault.mx/recover.php

  11. Sad that I know this bit of trivia, but, it's actually not a cover. Neil Diamond wrote the song and sold it to The Monkees; he didn’t write it to record as a solo artist. Diamond even played acoustic guitar on The Monkees hit. Diamond did record his own version of the song. But that was more than a decade later. File under useless knowledge...

  15. Thanks for the heads up. I still don't buy stuff anymore, I come here for the community and free stuff. Right now I just got an Apple dongle and omg... it is the best DAC ever in the universe, and I am enjoying music soooo much (only goes up to 48 kHz 24 bits, but if you believe in science that's all you need, I guess) It's like stuff sound the way it's supposed to (and mixed/mastered). My plan is to sell my ADI-2 DAC (RME) and get 100 of these (there are 2 versions, one US and another EU, US is the one to beat). Keep my Motu M4 for recording stuff (Logic Pro allows me to use both devices at the same time). Also, weird that they give enough signal to my HD820 headphones, which... ended up sounding just perfect probably/arguably, but only this dongle revelead that... Also weird that... on Windows still sound is very bad. This dongle and my DAC sound louder for some reason, at the same time a little bit thinner and harsh... I read somewhere that there are certain protocols within the system between Windows, Android and MacOS that makes it have this behavior, idk if there is a fix to that, so, again, I am sticking to Mac for the time being. Can't wait to try it with speakers. I know, random comment, but wanted to mention it to someone, lol (usual friends don't know about this sht). Just typed this to leave for prosperity. 🎼

  16. If you want to throw in the bucks, you could get something like iZotope's Neutron 4. It has the Visual mixer which can find some kind of initial balance between your tracks. It can also suggest basic settings for each track's EQ, compression and whatnot. Then you can also use the Unmask module to carve space for important tracks in tracks that have a supporting role. This is still quite a bit of clicking and making settings, and knowing what to go for. Neutron won't be able to set up your mix all by itself, but it sure can help.

  18. But that's not even their best offer. I've got 24 of those plugins that are in the $29 list and have paid roughly $6.50 per plugin in average. It's best to wait for their Megasales, make use of dynamic discounts with 6 or more products, wait for their no-minimum spend vouchers.

  23. ... or delete them. Thanks Promidi. I never knew how to use Edit > Select > By Filter before. It will make editing and deleting entire cc lanes more definite. My feature request was to add Select all to the cc lane's right-click menu to highlight the entire lane, which would be more intuitive for most users.

  24. I was thinking about my next video that could be around the best fx for synth (internal and external) and still one of the best solution is mixbox , certainly the most complete ..... again like i stated in my review about back then , for me , while it s labeled mix box , it shines at the production stage imho

  26. Hello, I am a 30 year Cakewalk user and former professional performing musician. I have linked a Soundcloud page with some of the songs my partner and I have recorded. Recording and mixing is still a mystery to me, even though I have spent a considerable amount of time trying to figure it out. Almost all of the instruments are played by me, Hugh Curtin started half the songs and I have finished all of them. Artie Hoar and Hugh Curtin share vocal duties. We are all originally from Long Island. I cannot arrange songs on Soundcloud but wish I could put them in order of quality. We also have a Christmas album out on Youtube, Spotify, etc. I hope you enjoy them. Michael Richards

  30. All the versions you have mentioned have advanced installs except for Platinum. Platinum broke the main installer into several smaller ones. Updates can contain plug-in bug fixes so that is something to consider (ex. the last version of V-Vocal is in the X2a update). For more fun reading including a link to a spreadsheet containing SONAR plug-ins by version see

  40. I can confirm that gas prices for end customers in Germany are dropping now. A kWh generated from natural gas used to cost back in November 2021 about 0.12 cent, then in the summer of 2022 it surged to more than 0.26 cent just to drop back to 0.09 cent right now. One kWh of electric power used to cost 0.42 cent in my contract for 2022. Now my new contractual price for kWh is 0.32 cent. And the electricity in Germany is one of the most expensive in Europe. I see that in France EDF is charging about half of that for a kWh thanks to the nuclear power. While the electricity prices are pretty high because of moving from coal and nuclear to renewable power, the gas prices are very stable at the moment and the effect of Russian war in Ukraine on gas deliveries is nonexistent. On the other side fuel prices and increased demand for services and good after the lockdowns are over was what was driving the prices up. While we have almost no control on fuel prices, because Europe has insignificant sources of this commodity, the ECB has some means of regulating the demand of services and goods. And that’s the interest rates. So basically they’re reversing the inflation trend by increasing the key interest rates which makes it hard for people to spend money on services and goods like there’s no tomorrow, but that makes it also difficult for businesses to get a lifeline loans. Therefore businesses are trying to fill the gaps by increasing prices or decreasing the quality (as seen massively in grocery stores in Germany and maybe everywhere else too), because they know that while today it might be still possible to extract as much as possible from their customers, tomorrow it will be hardly the case. As a part of business ecosystem plugin and audio software developers know that and are profiting. The virtual goods are obviously unlimited in quantity, so developers loose really nothing from their deep “no-brainer” discounts, instead they’re getting more profits during times of recession. Without these profits right now they’re toast. And the price for the recession is once again paid by us - the customers and it’s up to us to stop spending money for what we don’t need. And back to PreSonus, what new do they have to offer for 5 more bucks a month?

  42. A while back, I went through the process of upgrading all of my old projects to SONAR Platinum. A fair amount of them dated back to CWPA 9. While the projects would open directly, some were problematic - mainly due to 32 bit plugins, or old 32 bit DX plugins that were no longer available. There were also some UI/routing issues due to the differences in Skylight vs the old UI. The most reliable way I found to deal with older projects was: 1. Create a new project using the Basic template - if nothing else, this ensures a Master, Preview and Metronome bus is created. 2. Navigate to your project in the Browser, and drag the project on to a blank area in the clips view. 3. Tidy up any blank tracks. 4. Save as a new project.

  43. I think White Tie doesn't have the talent to make something amazing. All of the suggestions people made about the new theme were simply brushed off repeatedly and we were told that he would simply do wha he wants. I said that his attitude was unacceptable towards paying customers and that any decent company would fire an employee like that. He proceded to delete my posts (he's the forum moderator). So yeah, Reaper is a company run by a guy who has NO aesthetic or moral sensibilities to see that the guy he hired is a talentless tyrant. I now use Bitwig.

  44. Every time there is an acquisition, the bean counters on the buying side need to see growth. For a main product with updates every 2 years for less than a year subscription, it may get more foul going forward for the version releases. A lot of these subscriptions I simply take as acknowledgement that a product is mature and reached the point of diminishing returns.
