  2. I wanted to post this before anyone tries it out. The install is buggy, at least on Windows and at least on my PC. It created a start menu group that simply points to stuff that does not exist and there is no uninstall even if the start menu has an entry for it. I wanted to leave a comment to give the author a heads up, but you have to pay to become a Patreon member for his site to be able to help out and leave a comment about it! 😒 It is unfortunate that Analog Obsession does not offer a simple zip file like they used to, from which I could simply copy the VST3 to my VST3 dir and be done with it! But it seems like a nice idea for a double compressor with 3 types of compressors blendable. If you do install it, you can safely delete the start menu group and you should be ok. UPDATE: Good news, the zip file has been added on the site! You can now just copy the VST3 file to your VST3 folder. ---------------------------------------- https://www.patreon.com/posts/comper-74729047?utm_medium=post_notification_email&utm_source=post_link&utm_campaign=patron_engagement COMPER Hi! I wanted to celebrate Pro Tools / AAX support with new plug-in before update my whole plug-ins with AAX support! Here is COMPER! "Multi-Mode", "Serial Compression" with "Switchable" and "Blendable" circuits! Confusing? Not at all! Let me explain! Basically, COMPER has two compressor in series. Top side compressor is first and bottom side is second compressor. As you can see, top side labeled as "INTERNAL" and bottom side labeled as "INTERNAL / EXTERNAL". This means top compressor has no external side-chain feature. But bottom one has both internal and external side-chain feature. This is "Serial Compressor". Great for coloring and also, taming peaks at the same time. Lots of scenarios! Simple... Let's talk about Multi-Mode! Each has three compression mode. VCA, FET and OPTO. You can simply select which mode you want to use. So, it's basic "Switchable" mode compressor. But these buttons are not radio-button to select mode with one click. You need to click active button to disable it and enable another mode. Extra clicks??? Why?!? Because you can use these modes TOGETHER! This is "Blendable" part! You can select VCA and OPTO or VCA and FET or any of them or all of them, at the same time! These circuits are PARALLEL and they will be summed according to their count. For example, if you use two mode at the same time, you will get 50/50. If you use all of them, you will get 33.33~/33.33~/33.33~. Using one? 100... That's all! FEATURES - Two compressors in series with three circuits for each - Multiple circuits are usable for each compressor (VCA - FET - OPTO) - THRESHOLD +10dB to -20dB - RATIO 1:1 to 20:1 (With 1:1 you can get extra transformer color) - ATTACK 0.1 to 50ms - RELEASE 0.05 to 2sec - INPUT +/-15dB gain compensated (Usable if Threshold can't reach low signals or if you want to push it harder!) - MAKE-UP +/-15dB - MIX will "mix" dry and wet signal - EXT will engage External Side-Chain for second compressor - POWER will bypass whole plug-in - ANALOG OBSESSION label is oversampling. Simply click it and engage 4x oversampling. - Touchscreen support - Resizable interface. Simple "Bottom Right Corner Handle" to resize. 50% to 200%. *Resizing Tip: When you duplicate plug-in, it will remember current state of GUI size. But if you load new instance, it will be opened at default size. To get rid of this issue, simply follow these steps; 1. Open plug-in for the first time 2. Resize GUI according to your screen resolution or you liking before setting any knobs 3. Save this state as default preset with your DAW Now, you will be able to load new instances with same size. (If you want to go default size, simply double click to resize handle.) AVAILABLE FORMATS VST3 / AU / AAX Native - Audiosuite | Mac 10.11 - 13.X (Requires a graphics card that supports "Metal") VST3 / AAX Native - Audiosuite | Windows 10 - 11 DOWNLOADS

He compares the GSatPlus favorably to the hardware version of SSL Fusion. Interesting and enlightening video... 08:08 talks about GSatPlus 19:19 audio comparison

  6. Unless you're familiar with the issues that the trans community has to deal with this may seem like an overreaction on Spitfire's part but it isn't. Members of the transgen community have to deal with a lot of hate, ignorance and prejudice on top trying to deal with a difficult issue. Spitfire could have (and some people argue should have) outright fired Christian, instead he's 'taking a break'. It's unfortunate that Christian has put Spitfire in this no-win situation with his tweet. I don't blame Spitfire for this. I hope to see Christian back in the scene again at some point in the near future, hopefully he'll spend some effort in the meantime to do some unbiased research to dig behind the fearmongering that various people are actively promoting.

  14. Hi Gang... I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for their' support. As we all expected, I did not make the finals. It was fun dreaming though. So in my heart I wish to say that "anything's possible". Who knows. One of these years it might be You walking up to receive an award. I sure hope so! For me? Thrilling ride and... There's always next year. My NEW album (Hear Me Calling) is being released 11/23/22 and is in time to make the 2023 Grammy's! It ain’t over until... My humble gratitude 🙏

  22. @Simeon Amburgey I just sense that after you do a video of Contemporary Cello I'm going to find that I still can't choose, that I'll love both libraries too much and end up buying both. BTW, I really like how the developer behind Sonixenima interacts with sample users over at VI Control, he seems genuinely kind and I have all of his freebies, and I think one paid library. Like always, I'll watch a video of you playing it, then I'll buy it and I'll be like -- "Hey, this doesn't sound as good as that library Simeon played. And I know the reason. Simeon's a really good keyboardist and thr guy who's playing it now is terrible!" Hahaha. Seriously though, thanks for doing this. You know I enjoy your videos -- especially when you get carried away and before you know it you're playing Stevie Wonder and old classics. It's your love of music -- and good playing -- that makes those moments so enjoyable.

  23. I am hoping to feature it on this Friday's livestream. Modartt was also very kind to provide several copies of Pianoteq STAGE for some giveaways which I am always excited to have to bless the channel viewers. In order to participate, all you have to do is register for The Wheel Of Fun here: https://bit.ly/Enter_The_Wheel_Of_Fun While I have a relationship with Modartt as they have been kind to provide review copies of Pianoteq, I am not affiliated in a financial way with them.I look forward to seeing you on Friday and will post a link when the livestream is scheduled. Joyfully, Simeon

  24. There is a MIDI program that comes with the Stream Deck and you can assign CC (and anything MIDI) to the streamdeck. But that's just buttons. I will let you know if it works with the knobs when I get my Stream Deck + in December, but I assume I will find that functionality in the sideshowfx template, as that's a pretty basic thing.

  27. I have been waiting for a Black Friday sale to pick up their other Solo Cello library -- which has legato plus additional articulations -- and then they released this, which I think sounds gorgeous. I love the tone. The downside is that it's only a solo legato articulation. @Simeon Amburgeydid a video for the Intimate Legato Cello (see below) and I asked him about doing one of the other cello library, I think it's called Contemporary Soloist Cello. I'd love it if he compared the two, because they both sound great. Although Intimate Cello seems to have superior/ smoother legato patches.

  32. Just in case any UAD users missed your first post on this Larry, they are offering the bundles of "buy 3/6/10 PLUS get 3/6/10 free"!! Now the bundles are regular prices, so no cut there. But they are offering their newest plugins with these bundles. Which makes these a fantastic deal!! I am going with the Buy 3 bundle and get three for free: Hitsville Reverb - $349 Hitsville EQ - $149 PolyMax Synth - $200 Oceanway Mic Collection - $124 Bill Putman Mic Collection - $124 Neve 1084 Preamp - $149 For UAD stuff, this is a deal!!

  35. When using the word "overclocking", I want to clarify: I'd recommend running RAM at (or near) it's maximum listed clock-speed. This assumes the motherboard supports the higher RAM clock-speed. I would absolutely not recommend trying to achieve RAM clock-speed above what the RAM is rated. That's almost guaranteed to cause instability. If you're in Cakewalk's preference settings: "Effective Latency" shows that it's listing the audio interface driver's Input latency. This can get confusing... I'll try to explain: When working with a DAW, you're dealing with two types of latency. Playback (or one-way) - when playing virtual instruments Round-trip (or two-way) - when playing/monitoring in realtime thru software based effects/processing Round-trip latency is the sum of the following: ASIO input buffer ASIO output buffer The driver's (often hidden) "safety" or "streaming" buffer Latency of the A/D and D/A converters Let's say you have your audio interfaces set to 44.1k with a 64-sample ASIO buffer size. ASIO input buffer = 1.5ms ASIO output buffer = 1.5ms So you're already at 3ms... without counting the latency of the driver's safety/streaming buffer and latency of the A/D D/A converters. Total round-trip latency is going to be 4-5ms (or much higher if the interface uses a large safety/streaming buffer size). To complicated matters, some interfaces don't report their latency accurately. Ideally, you want to use a loop-back utility like RTL Utility... to measure the actual round-trip latency. If an audio interface reports its ASIO input/output latency accurately, Cakewalk will list it accurately under ASIO Reported Latency. If an audio interface driver doesn't report its ASIO input/output latency accurately, recorded audio maybe slightly offset (out of time). In this case, you can take a short transient and loop-back record it to a second track... and zoom-in and see if there's any difference in time (between them). If so, you can take the time difference between them (in samples), and enter it in Manual Offset - which is under Record Latency Adjustment (samples). Hope that helps clarify!

  36. This is because cwb files store the track wav files first in the file. Google is trying to be clever and identifying the file as a .wav, probably stripping out all of the project information too. I'd avoid using cwb files with cloud storage - better to zip up your project directory and store that instead.

  39. I totally agree with @TheSteven Please, these are serious issues, let's not trivialise them by discussing them in terms of wether we buy drum library or not ! Additionally I believe it belittles and disrespects the debate to attempt simplify it into UNINFORMED soundbites......and then express a complex and nuanced debate in a tweet.... or even a deals forum (in my opinion!) Pitchfork politics !

  40. I've got Moonkits and the library does sound really good. There is a ton of variety to be had in the various kits and presets. This library oozes uniqueness and character. There aren't nearly as many high hat and cymbal articulations as say a Superior Drummer kit, but many of the Moon kits come with a whopping 45 different brush articulations. Some of the more oddball Moon kits come with much fewer articulations. The one serious drawback to Moonkits is that there is no internal midi mapping tool. I can see this being a deal breaker for many. If you own a copy of full Kontakt, Soniccouture does share a link to a half-baked and somewhat painful midi mapping work around located here: https://www.soniccouture.com/blog/moonkits-how-to-re-map-for-e-drums/

I just wonder if these is something else I need more than simply adding to ny arturia collection. I can probably get same price next year with additional content I want.
