  1. Maybe this will help someone else. After a few people raved about Biotek I demoed it and couldn't see what all the fuss was about. It seemed a neat idea but poorly executed with sluggish graphics when using the 2 dimensional modulation thingy in the middle. I just discovered in the settings that there's an Open GL option that was disabled. After hiding the plugin window and then re-adding it, it's now a totally different beast. It just took it into must-buy territory! How about that???

  2. On Thursday I will be another year older . Since I'm reeling in the years I'm giving up on playing underage guitars that want to chew bubble gum and just look good 😜 I need a guitar that can handle it's biznezz when the chord changes hit the fan .Plus I want my guitar to inspire me and sound good for the kind of music I enjoy playing ... I bought this late 70's Gibson ES 175 CC Today . The ES 175 CC model is pretty Rare . If I'm not mistaken there was only 479 of them made . I have always wanted one of these ES 175 's since the days of when I worked at a very well known N.Y.C. music store ... Today was the day it finally happened . excuse the blurry pics , Kenny

  3. Wait? I mean sure they added it back into the normal update plan. But I don't see anything about them delivering the severed head of their marketing director, complete with the sacrificial-ceremony-ready bodies of their first born children?!!😜

  6. Thought you guys may get a kick out of this... well, if you like what we do, you'll get your money's worth out of it, if not... I guess it'll be an hour of awful so probably avoid 😛 In 2016 we played the ProgPower USA festival in Atlanta, and we were given the option of having the show recorded and filmed, so that's just what we did. We just made this free to watch after years of it being paid video on demand. Tech drama galore on the day, so there were a few patch ups back here in the studio later, but otherwise, this was all mixed and produced in SONAR Platinum (and I wish I had some of the features CbB has now back then!) and then sync'd to the video which I edited in my NLE. My audio machine at the time was in desperate need of an upgrade and, in fact, the audio data drive started to corrupt the project after a while, so I had to redo a lot of the corrupted automation, which was just freakin' neato. 🤨 Another good reminder to do daily backups and to never assume your gear can't fail on you. Anyway, lots of heavy metal type music, sweaty men running around a stage, silly gags, and... being both a heavy metal band and Australian, it goes without saying that there's an explicit language warning that goes along with this video! You've been warned! HAHA! Enjoy!

  7. Kontakt 7 has locked out 'under the hood' editing on most libraries because of proprietary coding for HDPI scalability. Many other bugs have arisen as well, so maybe wait until the dust settles before upgrading. Just MHO.

  8. Finally someone is seriously working to stop VST... I hope that happens soon. There is no reason to allow one company have power to enforce own rules on "standard interface" between hosts and plug-ins which have nothing to do with the company.

  10. While buying Kontakt 7 in crossgrade it says As an owner of Impact Soundworks - The 88E you qualify to install and activate this version. The88E is free in their site https://www.native-instruments.com/en/pricing/kontakt-7/ https://impactsoundworks.com/product/the-88e/ Don't know if it's for limited time

  11. It's nice - maybe not amazing, but one of those plugins that's probably useful to have around. $79 value? Probably not, but a steal at $19 (which I took advantage of).

  12. I have mix box, and the auto-pan function doesn't do the same thing nor would I try to make it do the same thing with manipulation of other parameters, which I don't think is possible as far as I know. If curious, I'd suggest running a demo on an existing project. Reset all your pan knobs to center. Put this plugin as last in the chain and then pan your mix with that. Wearing Headphones. The difference with what this does compared to traditional panning options while listening on headphones is significant. You just have to experience it. If you only listen on speakers for playback, it isn't really going to matter all that much.

  13. The reality is that it's an incredible amount of work to support any new protocol and deal with the inevitable bugs and confusion. VST3 is flawed in many ways and its design is a bit strange, but at least it is extensible. Decades ago in the 2000's, Cakewalk started an open plugin standard discussion with all DAW and Plugin vendors. The specification was in discussion for over a year, and nothing came of it despite it being way better than anything out there at the time. Often, it's not the best thing that sees adoption, there are many factors.

  21. I tried the demo of this plug-in -- wanted to hear what it would do to guitar. However, It added significant and noticeable latency. I'm using Ableton 10. Just a single track with any guitar plug (tried with Tonex, Amplitube, and NeuralDSP). Very surprising outcome and uninstalled. Is anyone else who demoing this product finding the same issue?

  22. I was looking at Precision Align, but MAutoAlign does time alignment and spectral alignment and works great. It is probably my single most used Melda plugin. Align drums, guitar/bass Di/cabs, I even use it to align my kick/bass. I got yelled at by the developer because you're not supposed to, but it actually works sometimes! 🤪 What I really like about this one is how easy it is to use. After you have it set up on your tracks and grouped (mine is in my template), you simply analyze the tracks, toggle the bypass a few times to see if it's better, then move on... It's an awesome plugin! https://www.meldaproduction.com/MAutoAlign

  27. Mix 4 Trying to get the vocals more clean (I thought they were muddy) and some automation on the instruments as well as different reverbs added. Mix 3 taking in suggestions. Working on a track for a band called Hobo Train (I am their sound engineer) This is my second mix and would value your thoughts. It is in Norwegian so the lyrics many wont get.. bit to judge the mix you can 🙂 I ran it through the BandLab Master chain.. and will post another without it. Thanks for your time. Gary

  30. I got the full Kontakt 6 at the 50% off sale in 2021, and with crossgrade from Player the total was $124.50. I think the crossgrade was $249 at the time without a sale. I also received the same offer in 2020, but I passed it up then. Maybe they didn't offer the same deal in 2022? Probably need to check with Larry on the specifics here... oh, wait!!! 🤪

  35. @Amicus717^^^ This is a good idea to check, since the problem appears to happen when the GUI window is closed. FYI: I just checked ST 4 v4.2.2.0 VST3 in Studio One 5 and the latest CbB. All good, even created and saved a 4-part multi in S1, then opened it in CbB. Opened and closed the plugin GUI several times in each DAW without any crashes. Assuming Windows 10 is up to date, also make sure that you have the necessary Windows Visual C++ redistributables installed. Sometimes when some of those are missing or not up to date strange things can happen due to application dependencies. More likely the most recent ones needed for current software, and the older ones for legacy software. This is the list of them installed on my Windows 10 PC (from Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features):

  37. I paid $29 for it or so a long time ago. I personally don't care for it based on other things I have. Good interface (though not resizable) and good features on paper. But never became a tool I used. Haven't checked CPU usage. I own most of boz's plugins. This one of the few that I should have passed on. But this is all time low territory so give it a demo if you don't have a collection of limiters.

  40. I think dedicated audio editing software like WaveLab, Audition, Sound Forge let you go more surgical with audio. They also have built-in tools for repairing, denoising, and likes.

  43. I ended up just getting the Phaser for $9 given everyone's effusive praise. Brought it up in Amp Room and didn't have any issues with latency. So I grabbed the Flanger and Doubler as well. Now, I've got more modulation option in Amp Room (before was just tremolo and vibrato). Thanks, all.
