  3. I can tell you that they have a HUGE fanbois club on Fakebook and elsewhere...so I certainly woudn't say they're dead. For me...the move to the $30.99 model destroyed them as far as a "great deal" is concerned, especially in light of the former $14.99 deals that "used to be". I get that they need to make money, but selling 10,000 at $14.99 is far better than selling 1,000 at $30.99 IMO, but hey, I'm not a Business or Marketing guy, so what do I know? EDIT: They would have been WAY FARTHER AHEAD by going to a "Forever $20.99" Model, as people would be far less likely to walk away from the deal over $5 than over $15

  4. It's probably why they have to limit sound downloads. People download terabytes of wrong files every day. 😉

  6. The new Grunge Teams content is free for SampleTron 2 owners, if that's not clear. It's a bit different than a typical expected Mellotron type of sound (the soundtrack is all from the new set except the drums) but cool nonetheless.

  7. My original version of John Lennon's classic song, "Instant Karma." Constructive criticism, especially on mixing, is welcomed. EDIT: I replaced the below SoundCloud link, as the version I put up previously was greatly distorted. EDIT 2: Below is the latest version of the song.

  17. Of course, so the best (and pretty simple) solution would be to have an option added to Preferences that would be turned off by default. But if you turn it on, and the currently selected theme supports animations – hey, presto!

  21. Thanks for the shout out. I actually designed many of the amps and things in MTA. I hope people like them. Also MTA can be used for other things like overdrive pedals or just general saturation. I'm actually working on some new amps now, so there should be more coming soon. If there is anything you think it needs more of i. e. Clean amps, distortion pedals, etc let me know and I'll see what I can do. I hope everyone enjoys it.

  22. HI:) @Base 57 My fault!! I just clicked at the top of the clips cause I thought it mutes and unmutes the whole clip (it does). don't use the mute tool very often so I forgot that you can unmute the waveform by swiping at the top of the clip. OK😁 Should use it more often then. Normally I just Comp or better let sing the whole verse/chorus again. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction and sorry for this stupidness😂 I'm getting old😒😁 But there's one thing that didn't work for me: "Extend Takes to Punch Out Time" I selected this setting but in the picture/video you can see that the beginning of the clips is the same Punch In Time, but the end of the clip is when I stopped the recording, it's not extended to the Punch Out Time. Greetz;) Bassman.

  25. Hey guys, here's a fun 80s inspired melodic metal song that I did last year: There's a couple of interesting things about this song. First of all, this was made entirely with drum out-takes from demo sessions from our 2015 What Tomorrow Brings EP, cleaned up and a new song written around it. Pro-tip: Just because you CAN do this, doesn't mean you SHOULD do this - that was horrible! HAHA! But the end results were pretty good at least! What's cool also is that I only used bundled Cakewalk effects to mix this, which was a bit of a challenge - we all have our own favourite effects, but I wanted to see if you could do a pro mix with only what we were given. Apparently you can! Here's the good bit: If you have Cakewalk from version 2022.06 onwards, go to Help > Check for Updates and you'll get a popup toast for demo projects. This song is one of the demo projects, and it comes with a huge PDF with mix notes, lyrics, Australian slang... all of the good things! I cover everything from setting up a mix in a modular way, to FX Chains, Arranger sections, Aux Sub-mixes... lots of stuff. And you get to hear how bad the source drums were before I wrangled them into shape! Yay! HAHA! Anyway, hope you guys dig it! And if you get the demo project, let me know if you get anything useful out of it.

  30. Looks like small error in the logic - if you happen to have a loop end time that is smaller than the punch out time, it'll use that. Easiest way around this is to set the loop end time to your punch out time ( shouldn't matter if looping is enabled or not).

  34. Thanx Toffo! I don't know if I deserve it or not..but I've been pushing this one for far too long, so thought it was time to do it. I really didn't want to spend the money on a PC, but I probably would have spent it on software that would just gather virtual dust, so might as well give the dust a new place to live first! LOL!

  36. Not sure why this is happening, but it's best practice with Cakewalk to have per-project audio folders rather than one big global folder. I suspect that doing it this way might end your troubles with it.

  40. Whether a plug-in is multi-timbral or not is up to the plug-in manufacturer not the DAW. Refer the plug-in documentation for its feature set.

  42. I edited my above post as you were replying. Again, I'm not trying to be argumentative, I'm trying to make a point. This is NOT a general issue. It's directly tied to codecs and hardware. I'll answer my own questions above: One MP4 was a h.264 30fps, 720p AAC and played fine with no issues on any machine. One MP4 had unsupported codecs. Another MP4 was high bitrate 60fps 4K. Another one was 4K HEVC with 10 bit colour. On the surface, every single one of these files look exactly the same. They are all MP4. 30fps 720p is going to use far less system resources to play than a high bitrate 60fps 4K file. On my main hardware, they both played fine. On slightly older hardware the 4K file had big issues. Even on good hardware the HEVC one stuttered when it started but it played, but on lesser hardware that didn't have direct HEVC decoding, it was giving me barely 3fps and lagging the timeline. How this stuff interacts with your hardware, and knowing what is actually inside these MP4 files is important to narrowing down what is going on, so you can actually do as you said - leave it to the developers. Without that information, they're just guessing. The bottom line is there's no really good reason to withhold any information that people ask for, even if it doesn't seem relevant on the surface. This could mean the difference between living with a broken or incomplete feature or actually taking steps to getting it fixed. But agreed, let's leave it at that.
