  1. I sent this: Just a heads up: You're right that this was awesome software but Sonar X1 is abandonware and can no longer be registered. Cakewalk was purchased by Bandlab. The latest version is Cakewalk by Bandlab and is 100% free. Still awesome though. https://www.bandlab.com/products/cakewalk?lang=en Here's the reply: Wow! How bout that?

  3. I personally liked Detroit Soul. I picked up Rock and Americana. Playing around with them now. Update: After a little experimenting last nite, my comments are, I still find the sound of MODO bass better. (I don't have any EXBass expansions) But the best sounds for my needs are, I export the Bass DI as a wave from EZbass and then load it into a DAW and add AT5 bass amp sim. It really sounds good.

  5. IS THIS IT? Been in a bit of a creative funk for a bit. I threw the backing track together with the aid of ToonTrack's Modern Pop bass, keys, and drum midi. There are some titling inconsistencies, but its not hard to figure out. I guess I'd classify it as a "cue", or "bumper" maybe? (something I know nothing about) It did have the intended result; I'm starting to "bond" with EZbass, getting a little more fluent with EZkeyes, learning to edit inside of SD3, and it pushed me to write a quick solo (that wasn't a 12 bar blues) and tighten up my chops. Is it "perfect"? Nope! At some point I'll go back and get the guitar part "right" and "massage" the midi a bit more. For now I'm on to the next "cue". We need a bit more interaction between the Songs Forum and the Deals Forum. A lot of "bought it, installed it"; but very little "this is what I did with it". So here's the tech info: EZkeyes Modern Pop EZbass Modern Pop SD3 Modern Pop Grooves SofTube Marshall Silver Jubilee: '67 Classic (not sure I "love" this) SofTube Celestion Speaker Shaper: 2 4 x 10 cabs with Celestion Blue and G12 Heritage, both with Alnico magnets. I think I've "bonded" with this one. IKM's FAME Studio emulation; 3 instances of Studio A; Guitar (1), Keys (2) Drums and Bass (3). Warren Huart has a pretty good tutorial on FAME here. IKM's Lurssen Console (Pop Rock-more glue) on the Master Buss followed by fabfilter Pro-L2 set at +1.4, ceiling at 0.5dB Scores 11.7 on LUFS scale in iZotope Insight The title? one of the midi variations I used was titled This Is It. As always, would love your crits and comments; don't be afraid to "lean" on me a little; I have broad shoulders... t

  9. Bandmate and the scalable GUI are the two main reasons I'm considering the upgrade. Sounds like they got the latter right but may need to tweak the former a bit. Thanks for the feedback!

  10. Well, yeah, so was my question. 😄 And he paid $600, he thinks, but estimates an new license at $35. He's really overestimating the cost of goods! The weird part is that even after bluzdog kindly clued him in, he still has the ad up.

  12. Not really, because this thread is clearly a joke. Nobody here is selling it. And If there was an actual buyer for this Craigslist item, the software would be useless to them, as it's non-transferable. According to the ad: "Has been licensed. You will have to purchase a user license, I think is $35? Installation will automatically open the Sonar website on your computer. Free updates are available, and additional effects plugins are available." Big LOL!!! So he's actually just selling the discs and user manual. Let the buyer beware!

  13. And the ad is still up! The aroma of burning herb emanates from this listing. Is this thread tiptoeing around the pirate software rules? 😆

  16. Hi Grem , The Les Paul forum has been considered the top dog as far as everything that pertains to all aspects of The Gibson Les Paul . I have heard they run a tight ship as far as the forum goes .ex , Membership qualifications and posting rules , A few places I used to go to had people trying to figure out what they did wrong to end up with a forum time out . Since I happen to have a certain type of personality and sense of humor I know if I went over there as a registered member I would have to stick my foot in the door to hold it open , throw my guitar case in and let them start shooting ....only when they are done shooting and run out of ammo would I consider it safe to walk in there 🤣 Yep ! it's true what they say . A man has got to know his limitations 😜 how I even survived here on this forum for so long I will never know I don't know if you have been to The Gear Page ...https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php The Gear Page is a forum I would also consider as a good place to ask about your Les Paul if your not getting answers any place else ....there's people that know their guitars over there too. Who knows your guitar seems so unique it may educate a small niche of the guitar community once you have your answers . good luck Kenny

  28. Looking at the other thread you made, it's not clear if you've reported any crash reports to the Devs. Us users can't help you because you're unwilling to tell us anything about your problems or your system. If this crashing was as bad and as widespread as you're saying, the forum would be up in arms about it, which it's not, so it's clearly something that's either constrained to or exposed by your environment. It could well be a CbB bug that your environment is exposing. If you don't report it, unless someone at Bandlab is a clairvoyant, nobody will know if there's a problem at all, let alone trying to solve it. We *all* benefit from people reporting bugs that get fixed. These EA builds especially are here for us to give it a good test before the public release - this is the time to bring up problems, document them and report them.

  32. Thanks @abacab From an organizational perspective this helps. 👍 I'm attempting to juggle hard drive space to make all of this fit and work efficiently. I only want what is supposed to go inside of ST4 to go into it.

  33. Hi I was AWOL most of yesterday. Early gig and it ran overtime. This morning, tropical storm prep. What do I like about it? Avery has control of his instrument, He is technically proficient Good stage presence and audience connection Plenty of passion He's quite young, and obviously talented, but I think he could have delayed the fireworks and played the head without embellishment at first and then built up to the climax more gradually. I probably did the same thing when I was his age, so it's not necessarily a criticism. As we mature, we tend to figure that out. Also, shows like that demand instant audience excitement. I've seen other excerpts on the UTube, and singers tend to do the same thing, so I guess it's the way that show works. I hope he has a long career. Notes ♫

  34. Yes i was thinking of purchasing myself, but was looking at Izotope Nectar 3 and a few others or seeing what ive missed. I just want to make sure i am happy with something first and then its job done. Joe's vocal strip is best ive seen so far, a better all round flexible sounds and proper GUI more about using it than fancy knobs. Joe vocal clients are very impressive, so i am guessing he big in the industry and his expertise with analogue preamps etc seems more real than just another plugin company, which is swaying me. I am just undecided if to build my own vocal strip or go for something like this what Joe created. I currently build my own with cakewalk compressors on pro channel PC 4K and 76 are good enough to be honest, plus the built in Vocal presents FX Chain you can tweak for great results. So if i am spending money i think its better to buy a all in one instead of singles. i also use limiter No6 which is surprising good for free plugin along with cakewalk exciter or soft tube sat, so cakewalk you can get real pro quality end product for sure. The only paid comp i use autoformer as i like the preamp harmonics it gives with some saturation and i use Ozone 9 elements to tweak eq with cakewalk quad pro channel eq, i use them both sometimes to de-esser. i just think the Breverb in cakewalk is amazing so why buy one and the built in delays are enough to do any delay, so i think its better to just get a vocal strip. Ive looks at CLA which is very simple and the JJP Vocals even more basic both by waves. EZ mix is not my cup of tea, fact cakewalk does better job than any of those ive look at apart from Joe Vocal Strip seems to be miles better. What do you think of it should i spend some cash

  38. I just use the IK Product Manager to let me know what to install. All of the products registered in my account appear with their current status, such as installed. Here is an attempt to organize my thinking about the overall package... There are 3 main TS 3.5 MAX programs that are "containers" (available as standalone or plugin): SampleTank 4 Amplitube 5 T-RackS 5 (the modules can also be used individually as plugins) SampleTank 4 MAX: Contains all of the sample based instruments, including Syntronik and Miroslav. AmpliTube 5 MAX: Contains 14 brand and artist collections and all 4 new virtual X-GEAR pedals, all benefiting from the latest breakthroughs in modeling technology. This massive collection offers over 400 ultra-realistic amps and FX to build your own unique sound, and over 2,500 included artist presets. T-RackS 5 MAX: contains new modules like FAME Studio Reverb, Comprexxor and the TASCAM Tape Collection. You also get ARC 3, the advanced acoustic room correction system and Lurssen Mastering Console, plus all of the current T-RackS modules. The other separate programs (also available as standalone or plugins): Hammond B-3X MODO DRUM Syntronik 2 (also in ST4) MODO BASS Miroslav Philharmonik 2 (also in ST4) MixBox

  39. It's always worked that way for EZDrummer, EZKeys MIDI packs and EZMix modules for me. I've no reason to think it would not work for EZBass MIDI too.
