Hi everyone. The Cakewalk Web Installer has now been officially released. To download it, choose Download and then pick the Cakewalk Installer instead of BandLab assistant. Note that once you have Cakewalk installed all subsequent updates can be done directly from within the application via Help | Check for updates. Notifications for available updates are also automatically shown by default. There is no need to use BandLab assistant now unless you wish to do offline authorization for Cakewalk, or you want access to BandLab loops.

I second that. I've got the latest Acoustica Standard 7 which comes with some fantastic tools for cleaning audio. And the loading time is simply amazing. Anyone who remembers using (and loving) Cool Edit Pro, will adore this.

Acoustica Premium is excellent. It loads quicker than any other audio app I own. Great UI. I bought it to replace SpectraLayers and was surprised at everything else that came with it. Acon Digital's Restoration Suite is included. No need to deal with iZotope RX (I've had trouble with two different iZotope products not being scanned successfully by plugin scanners, so uninstalled both). About the only Acon Digital add-on NOT included is their DeVerberate plugin. If you do any spoken audio recording, Acoustica becomes very useful. I started with Standard. Liked it so much that I uninstalled SpectraLayers and purchased the full-price upgrade to Premium. No regrets. I don't recall Acon Digital ever doing a sale of this magnitude themselves, so this is a great deal. A nice "hidden" feature is that the Acoustica dev is very responsive!

Absolutely delighted that Simeon Unified Darkstar, so that I don't have to. My "unified" Darkstar library is a hot mess and wouldn't make sense to anybody else. 😄

Recording audio from a hardware synth is no different than any other audio source: plug the audio outputs from the synth into the audio inputs of the audio interface, add an audio track to the Cakewalk project, set the input of the audio track to the audio interface, record enable the audio track click the record button in the transport module.

Here we have the same folks in another political thread angry at artists pulling their art from multi billion dollar company as if it's challenging that corporation's free speech rights as well as challenging the rights of their misinformation agent that they just paid $100 million. The last thread even contained a racist term against Asians that the moderator completely missed. So the argument here is that supporting a $16 billion dollar net worth corporation and their $100 million misinformation host that literally profit from spreading false information that has killed people-- including people I've befriended-- is somehow supporting free speech or artistry. I sincerely wish there was a way that we could have an intelligent conversation about this rather than you guys simply engaging in group think you've adopted from the extremist manipulative celebrities spreading misinformation and attacking anyone who doesn't think exactly like you. People are dying who believe the kind of misinformation Rogan is spreading. A friend of mine lost his brother only several weeks ago over this stuff and there was no way to persuade him. The culture wars and the misinformation only benefits (profits) the billionaires who own propaganda media and their employees who spread that misinformation. They've persuaded you to firmly stick to these positions they've told you to hold. It's very obvious how you've been incredibly influenced by these outlets. But they're lying to you. They're manipulating you and it can cost you both friendships, joy and your life.

@Jimbo 88 Thanks for the feedback. I've done another remix and put it a step closer to the first mix that I posted. While doing It , I settled down the drums quite a bit. I normally get along nicely with the TTS brush kit but I've had problems working in3/4 time. @Lynn Wilson Thanks for the compliments , I think I'm calling this one "done" for now. I need to get away from it before I Really mess it up. I think I'm going to start using Soundcloud for early mixes and Sounclick for the final mix. Couldn't agree more, an excellent audio editor and more, with Premium you get a whole lot for your money, with the additional plugins. I already had RX and bought Acoustica Premium after demoing it, as I found it better and faster than iZotope RX for somethings. Plus developer is helpful too.

I was checking the official Cakewalk Instagram page (which is looking kinda dead) and saw that someone had done a German flag in this way to congratulate the German team for winning the World Cup, IIRC. Figuring out the fastest path for doing this, including setting the clip colors, slip editing, Groove clipping, copying and pasting, etc. was really good for honing editing/comping chops on a project with nothing musical at stake. Made in America, adopted by Singapore, currently developed in multiple nations.

I started my pc music journey from hardware with soundfonts. Cakewalk Express and a SBLive card. Still use Soundfonts to this day. I got most of these at GOG, except the 2021 Myst remake. Still waiting for a price drop on that one. That's just a $10 off coupon for it in the Humble Bundle, that costs $10. This bundle is a great deal if you don't have Obduction yet. That is my favorite recent game, which I got about 4 years ago. Awesome! You simply turn to the page in that issue that FileSilo requests the code word from. It is in the mag itself. No separate code is sent.

Everyone has a different system. And it also depends on if your computer has a second hard drive. standard practice is to let the installer use its default location for the software and dll but put libraries and samples on the second or 3rd drives. A lot of the free VST’s just have a .dll you simply copy to your VST folder. Best to use as few locations as possible. I have only 4 locations. I have the default Cakewalk VST folder and then the default VST3 folder. Then a Steinberg VST folder that their programs created. Then there is my main folder called VST that I put all 3rd party VST 2’s in. The VST 3’s goes to the default. There are also 32 bit folder locations but I removed those from Cakewalks scan pathways and if given a choice don’t install them. Which is another point. If an installer has a bunch of type options I only choose VST 64. If there’s a VST and VST 3 I only install VST 3.

No piracy involved, LOL!!! 🤪 Just pointing it out for anyone interested in picking up the mag. The headline software for this issue is actually Ableton Live Lite.

At 14 bits, Pitch Bend has a total value of 16383 so range is -8192 to 0 to +8191. By most default settings this bends up/down 2 whole notes making 4096 a 1 note bend and 2048 a 1/2 note, etc. However, the amount of bend depends on your keyboard/Synth settings. Dimension Pro softsynth allows up to 24 notes (2 octaves). Using a Track View Automation envelope you can right-click a node and manually change it's value. I find drawing Track View Pitch automation easier than CC's in PRV, but PRV is where I work most of the time. Would be nice to have automation envelope drawing option in PRV. EDITed: to correct values.

MPC Beats is alot harder to add to the cakewalk work flow to me .. everything is traped inside the vst when you are using MPC Beats and it has a limit of 8 tracks at a time and you cannot have more than one in any session... Sitala is very low on CPU usage and you can have multiple instances of the vst.. it's easy to make templates and easy to edit sounds... You can have all the pads assign to its own channel up to 16 tracks and the best part it's FREE... Hope this helps... Let me know if you have questions..😀🙏🏾
