  2. Available in German from the falkemedia website now https://www.falkemedia-shop.de/sound/beat/beat-02/2022 The English version is not out yet. I guessed the answer to the challenge because it's an amusing game, but I will definitely definitely buy it when it comes out. I compared the offered selection of AAS expansions to the list of expansions I'm still missing. The only one that I didn't find in the selection was Analog Orchestra, the other 21 that I was missing were all available The last 4 letters of my AAS coupon are **** [Edited by Moderator], it will be interesting to compare with others and see if it's a generic or customized code The biggest headline on the front cover is the key point of the issue. You want to know how to get that done [Let's avoid posting codes that are intended for existing customers, that's a no-no from the vendors.]

Now that we have started to see what the 2nd generation Apple Silicon computers for professionals can do, here’s a round up of every iteration of Apple Silicon and all the tests we’ve done so far. 7. bought the COLORS series and I've been messing around with them for a few days. One thing that's struck me is how well they blend together. You wouldn't think off the bat that a VI made of paper clips noises would necessarily work with a vocal library, a violin and cello, and a bunch of Chinese instruments. But in a lot of ways, they are all very peculiar in similar ways. There's nothing standard about them. They all feature very offbeat articulations, and the way they are designed allows for a lot of happy accidents. And those happy accidents work very well together. It was very easy for me (and a lot of fun) to just layer a bunch of these sounds and make a little piece using only COLORS instruments. Then I grabbed some stock footage today and made a little video. That was one part of my experiment. The other part was my first foray at a binaural mix, using another product I bought on sale, dearVR MUSIC. So you need to put on a pair of headphones or you'll miss the 3D spatial stuff I was attempting. Not to mention it will sound awful. Do me a solid and grab the best headphones you've got. 😀

  11. It is impressive. I have the 16 inch M1 pro. I haven’t bothered running the absurd tests just to see it’s limits. But I am playing bfd3 with my edrums at 1ms latency! That’s with a UAD arrow at 96k, Uad console bypassed. In fact, I just leave everything at 96k and 32. Apple done good.

  15. Not being very sophisticated when it comes to CC data. I wonder if this makes the case for "zero controllers" being a per-track option or overriding the global setting per track.

  16. Great read, Fleer. Thanks. Reminds me I saw Lee Michaels when I was a kid in a little KC Hall kind of place. It was just him and his drummer Frosty and they had 10 sun amps. two for the drums and 8 for the organ. Really loud and really good.. When I went to a dance in school watching the horn spin and stop on the Leslie during Gimme Some Lovin was a big part of me wanting to play music. My dad just laughed when I told my dad I wanted to play drums. When I said I wanted to play bass he just turned and walked away. So guitar was third choice. I dont think he wanted guitar. I just wore him out.

  19. LOL. I was visiting a friend one day when her mother turned up. She asked her where her husband was and without pause she said.." he's in the other room looking at porn on his computer.." Well, there's honesty and there's honesty I thought......my face must have been a picture, but mother seemed totally un-phased by this declaration and set off in the direction of the other room to find him.... I guess the look on my face must have said it all, so when she stopped laughing (it took a while) she explained that he was researching camper vans, but such was his fascination with them that the family all referred to it as his version of porn. 😌

  21. This is more of a test of an alternative way to do demos. Since I'm poor at mixing a full song, I figure I'll do songs live, but record the guitar and mic with Cakewalk. Then I mix that with some compression and reverb, sync the mixed audio file with the video (a big clap has worked for 80 years) and export that. What do you think? The story is something a security guard told me years ago, and I kinda think Security Guards are a good subject for folk or country songs. They're the zero-hours precariat now there's no cowboys. Sorry about the pun in the title, couldn't resist it. "In Security" - demo video

  30. Same! I almost bought it on sale in Dec for $12. Now there's another audio thing to go with it! Sometimes it pays to procrastinate. PS. THIS is the reverb I got instead. Their sale is over now, but it's still very affordable at $29.99. https://korneffaudio.com/product/micro-digital-reverberator/ If you have an account, you can also use code "theyloveme20" once something is in your cart for 20% off. (coupon does not expire, so you might want to save it for a more $$ purchase or when there's another sale - which is what I am doing because the MDR reverb is so damn good! (IMHO)

  35. I picked this up during the last GB. I just started using this yesterday. Its really cool sounding. Right up my alley of music. What is annoying about it is you can't make favorites of the patches you most like to use. Unless I am missing something. ?

  37. Meter on this thing can hit your CPU harder than expected. I only use the meter when I need to. Sounds like a DBX902 to me. Slightly improved on the VLB 902 from LSR sonically, who must've done this version, and the added features are welcome. No brainer at $29.

  41. This one I got was sitting somewhere damp a very long time. It smells moldy. I cleaned what I could get to and it worked so I transferred as much as I could while I could. 😁But yeah, I imagine whatever drives it if it is belt driven will eventually die. You can buy packs of belts in various sizes. Belts were a little different. I always used oil on those. I've never had a tape based machine of any kind that would keep the roller engaged unless it was playing. I know the mechanically activated ones you could, but I guess I knew better even as a kid. I had a high end Sony dual cassette one time. All digital controls. I wish I still had that. My first Tascam 4 Track was mechanical IIRC, but I never left it in the play position when not in use. But yeah, I could see rollers getting dented. It happened on copiers and especially printers because they would sit for long periods of time without being used. There is a unit called the fixing assembly. It bakes the toner to the paper so it doesn't smear off. The top roller is aluminum coated with teflon with a 1200 and higher watt lamp running through the middle. The bottom is a heat resistant foam roller. Those would get dented if they sat for a long period of time and it would cause problems. Then they changed from aluminum rollers to a heat resistant "fixing film". I could definitely see it with the pinch rollers in tape decks. I hate how things have changed in electronics. I had 3 of those 4 sided 5 foot tall spinning parts racks at work. Filled with belts, IC's, transistors, diodes, and other specialized copier and cash register pcb components. I remember changing the ribbon and ink in the old mechanical brassy National cash registers back when they were still used regularly. All but gone now. My brother started out in the business working on those and started his own business and I worked for him. He could tear those things down to the base and put back together in his sleep. Those and IBM typewriters are mechanical miracles. All but gone. I hear you about the eyes not being what they used to be. When I was in my early 20's I could hold a PCB up to my face and look for cold solder joints and broken tracings. Those days are long gone. I had one of those lighted magnifying arms on my bench but never used it although my brother who is 12 years older than me always had to.
