  1. I realize that not all of you are Cakewalk users, and some are entirely here for the Deals forum only, which is cool! But were you aware that the last time they locked one of Larry's threads, the Deals forum was demoted to a sub-forum? That was probably the host's alternative to eliminating it entirely. If you all keep abusing the moderators, I would hate to see what happens next. I for one, like this forum and would prefer it to remain... at least for Larry's sake! Can you imagine how he would feel if the kids had ruined everything in his absence?

  3. For anyone wondering what to get, it has been advertised here but since this is a new topic I'm gonna do it again: get the Sunset Sound Studio Reverb! I used it today on a backing track with a lot of soul sounds mixed in with some modern synts, and it glued the whole shabang together beautifully. It did something other reverbs I tried couldn't.

  4. Agree, thread should be unlocked. Locking down an entire thread with lots of community members posts simply because there was a passing reference by one person to a political figure is overkill. All it does is punish many for the sins of one. The person who posted the offending comment has said he would have changed it if asked or there was the option of deleting the post and advising the poster or even suspending the poster. But given the nature of the offending, a single passing reference to a political figure by one person, I think advice to the poster to change what they posted would have been enough. Why should everyone who was contributing to the thread be punished for what was a minor offense by a single poster? Too heavy handed in my view. I could understand it if it was flaming out but this wasn't that.

  5. Monday I will get my UNO Drum. Ddecided I have enough synths to not get the UNO Synth, but my live jamming setup lacked a drumcomputer and I was not willing to spend more than 700 on a Digitakt. Than, with my previous buy-ins I will be able to get almost everything IK. This is really an amazing deal.

  9. All were asking for is moderation from the moderators - delete the post and move on. Too much to ask? We've been a solid community for years and have had relatively few incidents that require a heavy-handed response and the mods have been there for us when that happens. But by and large, I think our excellent, candid, and congenial communication has been an exemplar of online forums. It's one of the few places I've seen where a poster deserved to get flogged and everyone else punished as a byproduct.

  10. It's tempting to dismiss these as just repackage goods. "OH, look, another Rat model". It turns out that model has 4 pages of hidden parameters.

  11. I picked them up too. I just finished trying it out. not bad. very modern sounding. i will upload a test sample of the stuff i tinkered with. I also picked up the Sunset reverb. It does sound really good and cool. but that app is just too funny. i keep looking up at the ceilings of sunset sound .. the 360 view is a hoot.. LOL.. @Peter - IK Multimedia IKM should put some easter eggs in that one. Remember the good old days when developers used to have fun and put easter eggs in software. They can put some groupie panties or David Lee Roths' half empty whiskey bottle behind a corner.. 🙂

  12. There is no direct download of CbB. Never has been. The Cakewalk by BandLab website provides a link to BandLab Assistant. BandLab Assistant runs BandLab (the DAW) from the top icon in the Apps tab and installs Cakewalk by BandLab using the install button below the second image in the Apps tab (this is documented here). Had you selected the install button below the second image we would not be having this discussion. That said, BandLab Assistant for installing and updating CbB is being phased out in favor of the Cakewalk Web Installer and in-app updating from the CbB help menu.

  14. It's a whammy bar and more. I see it works great on an Acoustisonic. 🙄😢😁 But seriously, this would be fun and very useful to have. Too bad you can't set it to work with only one or two strings to get that Clarence White sound.

  15. If you have a spare slot, by all means go for MODO Drum as it does sound quite nice. Just be aware that while the drums are modelled: the cymbals are sampled so there is still a disk footprint. you have a little control over how they are played and the tips of your sticks. However, unlike Pianoteq which is a modelled piano with an engine capable of rendering sounds from electric pianos to steel drums to glockenspiels, MODO drum does not offer anything other than sticks - no mallets, no brushes (yet?).

  16. Alright, I really didn't wanted to comment any more on the matter, but I feel like adding a last comment since I was the cause. The mod is entirely in his right to close the topic. And I have no issue with him and him doing so. Rules are rules, wether you know them all or not. I clearly didn't, and that is on me. I feel some hostility growing here, so can we please just close this one too and get on with the show? Rutte!

  21. Great shout out for Luftrum! I discovered Luftrum a few years back when I picked up iZotope's synth Iris 2 on sale. So then I started looking around for 3rd party libraries and stumbled across the Luftrum 10 soundbank for Iris. Further intrigued by this acquisition for Iris, I picked up his 1GB field recording sample library (Iris is a sample player engine with 4 sample slots and spectral filtering. etc.) for some roll your own fun. If you make a contribution to Luftrum, you will receive an unlimited license to use them anywhere, as well as a zip file of the sample collection. Since then, I have also acquired his soundbanks for u-he Repro and Arturia Pigments 3. And thanks to you for pointing out the latest sale, I now have Bioscape! This old video demo of his Luftrum 10 soundbank for Iris shows off Luftrum's special skills in sound design for atmospheres and soundscapes!

  23. OK, just messing around here with the X pedals, as a non-guitarist, so this is probably all wrong! All MIDI, and used the OTS Evolution Standard for the guitar. with MODO Bass, and Addictive Drums. Sent the guitar and drums to separate TR5 Sunset Studio Reverb busses, and MODO Bass to AT5 SVX 15N. Finished with Lurssen on the master bus, and exported to MP3. Another Brick in the Wall_OTS Evolution Rock Standard.mp3

  26. I have the A 49 which is the simplest A series model. But it looks like they share a similar layout and design. It replaced a Roland P 200 I had had since 1990. It was made in Italy so I think the Bontempi factory. It was still working but pretty beat up so I had keyboard GAS. I’m a fan of using music stores as much as possible for important stuff. So I went to Tom Lee and tried them all out including 88 key models. What I found was a lot of cheap plastic feeling keys in the small controller models. I think feel is often overlooked by none keyboard players. Would you by a guitar with a sh—y neck? No To my surprise they still made my P 200 now the A 49. Same shape and size with a few more features. It was definitely the nicest feel of them all unless you tried a large $$$ piano. Best of all it has both midi and USB connection and USB powered or wall wart option. It also has a proper midi driver which makes life easier. It is the only midi device I have that I can connect with Cakewalk open and it will work with out reboot. So I do believe you made a excellent decision to go with Roland.

  32. Not sure what your goals are with these two groups. I used to do tape head delay FX with a reel-to-reel (usually textured stuff with 3 3/4 ips, sometimes 7 1/2 ips FX, too). As you maybe have read, I asked the forum if the Tape Machines could do the tape head delay trick. (They could not.) When the Software Only X-Pedals were made available as freebies, I tried X-Time and X-Space. After trying a number of presets and tweaking the values with my usb keyboard, I decided the X-Pedals definitely work for my needs. If you haven't done so already, I highly recommend using the Try option (Custom Shop section of AT5, IIRC) and decide if one (or more) of the pedals will meet your needs.

Managed to install with the web installer after several re-instalations with the Bandlab Assistant. But I'm still getting the same error with the studio instruments:see attached image.Just re-installing the program doesn't seem to work. What is the fix for this please? would love to use this program but at the moment it's pretty useless.

  36. I do have the MKI versions of Musiqual EQs, not downloaded the free update to MKII yet, I do have the others three super plugin as well, I’ve never really use any of this bundle, the Red, Blue, Green Musiqual names don’t mean much and don’t help you remember which one sounds like what, so I end up using something I know instead, although the new MKII version look much improved with new features like a harmonic distortion, compressor, so I'll probably give them a try. It would be much better if they just combined the there plugins into one plugin, that would make a really usable single plugin, rather than let me try the blue, now let me drag the red and try, etc. If you wanted some plugins to add some colour, analog flavour, etc., it’s good value, as long as you get some use out of them. One plus with MIA Laboratories is they haven't charged existing MKI plugin owners for the recent updates to MKII plugins, so props to them for that. I’ve found the MIA Laboratories Pi and Phi MkII EQ to be more useful (it’s also on sale, and on JRR Shop and AudioDeluxe), the Pi and Phi MkII EQ is unusual EQ / enhancer that works really well, but one plugin that you need to try, and decide for yourself. https://www.jrrshop.com/mia-laboratories-pi-and-phi-mkii

  38. Sorry, no insulting intended, btw I didn't say lazy developers but picking lazy way. Kind of difference. And it was kind of general referral . I am not aware about details of designing decision fot ATR5 project and picked libraries and test for user experience... Of course I am very appreciating the best deal ever here as all other guys. The question is should I because of that just be dishonest and say only expected sweet things? If nobody says something is wrong (because they love devels and scare to insult them with saying anything other than expected thanks and love u) what would be motivation to fix anything? If nobody complains about ultra long load time so maybe devels consider it is great. This is making me pretty sad... So now maybe I should be waiting for hate and ban... But even if you kill me for that it will not resolve the issue which is in code... Ok, I will not say any word anymore... Stay in peace...

  39. As to Fool Who; I think that one guitar in the left can is a little lonely. You brought in some single notes. Now you're building up the backing track; OK. I would double track that rhythm guitar, pan both wide; but that might f*** it up! Everything else in working . Great vocals! 👍 t
