  3. This is what I wrote Joan, It is with our DEEPEST Condolences that we all here at the Cakewalk forum send this to you in the hopes that it may help ease the burden in this situation. It was comforting to know that he went peacefully. Terry was our family here in the Cakewalk forum, and he will be deeply missed. Our Prayers are with you and the family that God will see you through! It's not a lot, but hopefully helpful nonetheless. From ALL of Terry's fellow forum mates here on the Cakewalk forum!!!! If that's acceptable with everyone, then I'll hit send once confirmed The total being sent, so that everyone knows, is $825. There were more than $400 in refunds, which dropped the total, that was over $1,000 at one point, and was not redonated...

  11. I have revisited this track as I found a few problems with it. My son is on piano and my daughter is vocals. This was sung live at a wedding.. so it is a live recording and has a few mistakes... but thats what I like about live. In my original mix there was some "hum" when Emelie was singing which I really have not heard until now as I have changed monitors and headphones. (the older you get the more expensive your toys) There is still a little their on Emelie's voice. Have I over compensated in the middle frequencies and added to much harshness?? Thanks in advance people. Gary

  15. Power supplies, bad switches, loose cables, overheating (fan issues), a failing motherboard, bad RAM, just about any number of hardware issues could cause a PC to shutdown. If you don't know how to troubleshoot PC hardware, take it to someone who does. On the other hand, a software or driver error that drastic usually results in an error code, or a blue screen (BSOD). You do know how to set your computer to freeze on a BSOD (with the error code), and not automatically restart, right? > https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/69012-enable-disable-bsod-automatic-restart-windows-10-a.html

  17. I actually have one of these Threadrippers (a Thinkstation P620 with 256gb) that work sent me. It's a great compiler/rendering box. But it's also the loudest computer I've had in a long time. Lenovo really should have gone with water cooling instead of the infinite number of fans. Even idle it sounds like a jet engine or a leaf blower. It came with Windows Enterprise because of the number of threads/cores. I haven't/can't instaled music software on it, but I'm not sure I'd want to. There are much better, cheaper choices that for music production would be faster/better.

  19. Thanks for pulling this together Larry, and for your communication, Fpoir. Really happy his family was found and that we can help them directly. So sad to hear the news but it wasn't unexpected given the rough shape Terry was in from the beginning. He didn't pass on his own which especially comforting given the pandemic situation. Raising a glass to Terry as I type.

  22. M-Oxygen has turned out in one way like another take on my ‘M-Unity’ Theme yet it’s almost completely different as almost everything has been changed giving it a somewhat similar yet different appearance. Some special edits in this Theme I’d like to mention…. Gradients on all button states such as Off, On, Hover and press (where available) all match, something that is missing from most, if not all of my other Themes. The Hover state buttons (When hovering the cursor over the button) (where available) brighten up in the same way as Cakewalk makes the Control Bar Backgrounds brighten when you hover over them in any Theme. A new style of Knob to Cakewalk Themes from the Knobman website used in most knobbed areas of the Theme, there’s also another new style of knob used for the Pro-Channel PC4K Compressor Ratio knob. These took so long to get to fit right and display correctly and some nicer styles were attempted for the majority of knobs but I failed, maybe I’ll try them again for another Theme but it’s soooooo tricky! A new style of Fader to Cakewalk Themes completely designed by myself, just a simple design really but looks quite nice. (IMO) Larger text/icon for the Mix Module ‘Dim Solo’ and ‘Exclusive Solo’ Buttons, why were they so small when space allowed for larger like the other buttons of the same size? Also larger text/icons for the Performance Module Percentages. Free Download Here..... M-Oxygen Cakewalk Theme A combined total of around 150 hours, sometimes much more, goes in to creating each Theme I make, then there's more time spent to update them whenever BandLab makes changes or additions to the Cakewalk GUI to ensure any changed or new items display correctly and match the Theme, I also don't make all these Themes for myself, it's more of a hobby and to share the end results with the Cakewalk Community for their use and enjoyment at no charge, Any Tips/Donations via the following link for my time and efforts in creating and updating these are greatly appreciated, however small. Thank You! ❤️https://www.paypal.me/MatthewJohnWhite

  26. It works, and it does what it says, with a few limits and disclaimers. Many VST plugins, but not all, can share their preset info with it so it can act as a giant patch librarian for many of your plugins. But some do not share any preset info with the host. So that's the 3rd party plugin's fault, and not VIP's. So it's not 100% universal out of the box. Is still a handy tool. VIP is both a standalone app and a plugin, but it's still limited to working only with VST2 plugins. They never integrated VST3. So there's that... It gripes me that there's no VST3 support (and likely never will be), as more and more plugins are released as VST3 only. But the real biggie is that it's another good product that seems to have gone down the same inMusic Brands rabbit hole with AIR and SONiVOX products, and hasn't gotten any recent love from their development team. There is really nothing else quite like it, and I also have Komplete Kontrol and PluginGuru Unify.

  31. I guess because so many people couldn't do Spring Break this year? Fratboy sample pack begs for the application of Freakshow Industries FX to it. Freakshow, Glitchmachines, Unfiltered Audio, daddy's brought you a lovely dinner. BYOME, MISHBY, Cataract, remember that everyone needs to eat, and some friends from W.A. Production might show up at the party. Instant Delay and Dumpster Fire get to go first because they're the littlest.

  33. I'll try to reproduce the issue and send a small bundle file. I know that consolidating the clips or trimming would prevent this, but sometimes you want to keep the clips un-bounced for various reasons. Like you might not wish to commit something. I only mentioned it as I don't remember it happening in the past. I rarely use the process/apply effect methods much anymore as there are so many ways of doing things nowadays. Cheers

  41. OMG, you've saved my 60-year-old Ableton bacon. And now it becomes apparent to me WHY there's no rewind/RTZ button on their transport. Probably 20 years ago, when Live! was created, when its purpose was, uh, live performances only, in a live performance there is no rewinding. Raises the question in my mind whether FL Studio has non-loop playback and recording modes as the default like most DAW's. I started this topic with tongue firmly in cheek, so I hope you're exaggerating. I know the feeling though. One of my favorite mental playtoys is "what am I doing this for?" Which is odd, I don't remember making a conscious decision to take making music "seriously" at any point. Even when I was at the right age playing genres that were starting to explode in the music scene (80's-90's grunge-shoegaze), I never maintained any illusions about making a living playing music. So I go through the process of reminding myself that if I were into model railroading (as one of my musical heroes, Neil Young is) I wouldn't be asking "what am I doing this for?" Simple answer: because it's fun, I like playing with trains (or in my case, drum kit and guitars), I have made lifelong friends through doing it. Same with participating in online forums. My last three girlfriends I met via some combination of online forums and the music scene. I do have the impulse to want to share my music with other music lovers. There's a lasting thrill that comes from people connecting with it. Even if it's only a handful of people. I'd be happy to put my music up on Bandcamp or Soundcloud or BandLab Albums and get five comments telling me that my ambient music helped them relax, or that they could relate to the lyrics in my rock songs. It would probably be the same with a cool Lionel train layout. I'd want to show it off to other enthusiasts and especially young kids, to see that wonder that I remember when I saw these amazing train layouts. Unfortunately, starting in the '60's music equipment (and now software) marketing has been mostly ignoring making music as strictly a hobby for one's own enjoyment, in favor of selling the rock star/hot producer illusion. This contributes to the idea that my hobby has to be "going somewhere" to have value as a pursuit. Also, I just turned 60 last month and I know intellectually that continuing to do creative pursuits and hobbies is good for keeping the aging brain nimble. What I'm getting at with all this is that I think we all wonder why we're doing what we do and that it's good and natural, even necessary to consider that and maybe that it's changed since we started doing it in our teens or 20's. Revisiting that (as I'm doing by writing this) can help relight the fire. One more thing: for me this is a hobby (I don't know if you're a pro or not). It's okay for me to walk away from it (or dial it back) for a while to whatever degree and let the batteries recharge. If the hobby is something I'm "meant" to be doing, my interest will come back. I just make sure not to liquidate the tools I need to start back up. At one point in my life, I pretty much stopped playing music at all for half a dozen years. I was all about woodworking and vintage home restoration. But music inevitably pulled me back. 🤣 I am pleased to say that in all my years of being a plug-in 'ho, I've only had this happen once. I help avoid it by keeping all of my installers archived, that way I can quickly find out if I either own a license or demo'd it and decided against. And heck yeah to having enough gadgets that I can go into the toy chest and pull out ones I entirely forgot I owned. It goes directly against the whole "does this bring me joy" concept (which I don't discount), but it's not a bad thing to have something sitting around waiting for me to delve into it when inspiration has otherwise taken a hike. Especially these days when "delays" can be incredibly feature-packed. My "delays" folder has ObjeqDelay, Hysteresis, Sandman Pro, Sphere Delay and at least half a dozen other one-of-a-kinds.

  46. I am in total agreement. I think some a chord track having the most useful features of those in Studio One, Cubase and Waveform 9 would be excellent. I think everyone who would like this feature should make a list of individual features they would like the "chord track" to have and then someone could summarize it.
