  1. HoRNet SW34EQ MK2 free for 24 Hrs The HoRNet SW34EQ MK2 is an equalizer coming straight from the 80s. It’s the digital version of the EQ found in an American console and it features the typical analog EQ sound and controls. This plugin is specifically modelled after one channel of this console used in the main room of Virus Studio, here in Siena, Italy. This EQ is very smooth and gentle, both in the EQ shapes (bells and shelves) and it’s almost perfect for general tone shaping, especially the low shelf gives weight to the sound without pumping it too much. You also get an high-pass filter 18dB/oct slope that can be activated even if the rest of the EQ is not. Note: his website is currently struggling with high volumes of visitors 🙃 https://www.hornetplugins.com/plugins/hornet-sw34eq-mk2/

  5. <rant> Create a “junction” and get this beast off the C drive. Totally unnecessary for it and TRackS et al to “hog” so much space. Lazy design (typical) on the part of IKM. The installer could just as easily ask where you want this data to reside (on your sample drive; duh!) Drives me nuts! </rant> t The junction looks like this: (bear in mind that my sample drive is "V" and named VSTi. the juction is created in the Command Prompt and must be run as "administrator" do your due diligence and learn how to do it properly. IF I can do it, so can you!) mklink /j "C:\Program Files\IK Multimedia\ToneX" "V:\VSTi\IK Multimedia\ToneX" ToneX 4.18gb Amp5 2.91 gb T-RackS 5 1.89gb Amp 4 1gb

  11. I am on the latest Cakwalk by Bandlab and after some initial troubles, things have been very stable for me. I did a complete uninstall/reinstall as well when the final final update was released. I have been banging on this thing very hard every day for months now and have only crashed or had any issues twice. Both of those times were back to back when using the Export Audio Task Queue....that problem ended up resolving itself and I now have 50+ tasks that run very smoothly to create all the different versions and formats of my song. Oddly, as I was loging in to post here, Cakewalk notified me that I only had 7 days left before my Cakewalk authentication expired. No way that was 6 months! And then i logged in and it took me to a dead link? Um, whatever. It seems to be happy now. I still like this version a lot and its been very productive for me. I would happily pay just to have a permanent unlock code for THIS version! I guess that's what we will get with the new Sonar (sort of)...although to be clear, if we are paying, there should be no 'log in every 6 months nonsense'. And of course, a subscription model is out of the question for myself and many others. I passed on all the holiday sales and crossgrade offers to see what comes of Sonar in the new year. I'd prefer to stay on this DAW for the remaninder of my time but am also prepared to pivot if necessary. Platinum still loads all my old projects as well so I feel like I'm in a pretty good spot in terms of access to legacy files. I still read that some are having issues here and there with this version. I just wanted to share that it's been just about perfect for me. I hope they get all the rest of the remaining issues and troubles for users worked out. Like many, I have 30 years and countless thousands of hours wrapped up in Cakewalk so I'm really hoping for a soft landing on this. Good luck to all and I hope we get good news soon!

  23. Jack thanks for listening/commenting Tom I admit I didn't pay too much attention to articulations or velocities which could have brought things up a notch. I really appreciate the link to Fret_man's articulation setup that he uses with Indiginus Fiddle. I use that VSTi often and I'm still learning how to use the key switches. Also, he uses Izotope Neutron 3 which I have but don't use so I'll give that a shot as well. KSband Thanks. Yeah, hard to make midi input have the feel of actually playing the instrument. Then you spend a lot of time with key switches etc and lose the feel of the moment.

  29. LOL the music industry was corrupt looong before 1994. The payola scandals with labels paying for their records to get hyped & played, record companies & managers ripping off artists, etc. The scope changed i.e. fewer people controlling larger resources (getting their fingers into more pies) but the rots always been there. Interesting video though.

  45. my experience with the Steinberg IO (2 ch and 4 ch units) is completely different - built like tank, solid drivers on Windows, and excellent audio performance. definitely NOT the best for any desired "preamp" magick, but then again IO units (imho) should be about perfect transparency and not some nuanced preamp magick. 🙂 that's what your rack of 1073's are for...
