I picked up all of the 8Dio drum libraries last year when they went on sale for, I think, $15 each. It's completely subjective, but I find the processing of the 8Dio libraries really over done and very dated. I have and regularly use SD3 and maybe a dozen SD and ezDrummer libraries and definitely prefer them over the 8Dio libraries as far as presets and GUI. But if you like the heavily processed sound of the 8Dio libraries you hear in the walkthough video, it's a good quality library. I just think Toontrack is better at drums, but that's purely subjective.5 points

I had a project that was just too big for my older computer to export. So I started to export buses, and I was going to do the final mix from the stems. I selected my groups - strings, woodwinds, brass, etc. I don't know why, but I selected my final bus as one of the stems. When I started listening to the stems, I saw the final bus stem. I clicked on it to listen and it was perfect. So what a bonus accidental find. Now I have a way to export larger projects without getting partial bounces and crashes. Export to sound card - I could only ever could get partial exports or crashes. I was never able to export the whole song this way. Export to Final Bus - worked like a charm. Ok, so now I am scratching my head wondering why and what is the difference. Both go to the sound card. Why would it be a difference between exporting to a bus that goes to the sound card or straight to the sound card?? I hope this can help others that have really large projects or older computers or both. (I just ran project scope to get some stats - 95 tracks 240 plugins, 24 soft synths [mostly frozen], 40 buses)3 points

There are MIDI files and Cubase and Protools project files in c:\ProgramData\SynfulOrchestra\Examples for some of the demos including the string quartet.2 points

I have a Sabian HH Raw Bell Dry ride that retailed for less than 1/4 of that that I got off of eBay for $150. It too is amazing. I have a mid - late '60s Zildjian Avedis ride that is not half bad either.2 points

There's a big difference between Selected Track(s) and Active Track. That's the key to understanding what stuff will be copied and what the target track will be. Let's look at this as an example: You can see tracks 34 - 37 have their numbers highlighted, which I got by clicking the number itself (or holding down CTRL and selecting multiple numbers). That means they've been Selected. If you don't have a time range chosen on your ruler, then any cut/copy/delete actions will affect all of those tracks or, if you have a range selected, it will work on all of those tracks but only in the range you have on your ruler. But do you see how track 37 has the name selected? That means it's the Active track, which I got by clicking into the track name area. So anything you paste into a track will treat that as your target, or the first of how many tracks if you're pasting in multiple tracks worth of data. You can Select as many tracks as you like, but there can be only one Active track.2 points

It's not going to my spam folder, it's just that I get a ton of emails and it's in my Gmail promo tab and I often don't bother checking it and instead rely on Larry.2 points

I have both and use ProQ3 for tracks, but this has replaced ProQ3 on busses, stereo buss and mastering, as well as bass and kick for me. No need to pay anywhere near $99 now it's with PA though. Up to $50 it's still easily worth it (and more really) , but should be able to get it cheaper like everything PA.2 points

This was my least favourite and I picked it up last out of the TDRs and maybe even skipped over this price once or twice from memory, only to buy it eventually a while ago and find out it's actually really good! Easy choice to buy this one 🙂2 points

I Don't Stand A Ghost Of A Chance With You – Jazz standard composed by Victor Young, with lyrics written by Ned Washington and Bing Crosby. Recorded by hundreds. Since I feel you can't hear too much Getz, I chose this version.2 points

I have a couple of this developer's paid libraries and think he's quite creative and talented. But once again, while I get his emails, I would never have noticed this one, so thanks again, @cclarry. You rock!2 points

The Windows install failure has been brought up by several people on the Meldaproduction forum, including me. Confirmed that it only "works" if you tell it to skip the clean-up. Which results in the previous versions you had installed staying in place, although the UI says that they are 16.08. That's probably due to the Meldaproduction core not being a part of the .vst3 files. It's a mess, and it's uncharacteristic of Melda to fail to address it within 24 hours. It's an installer, that ain't rocket science.2 points

Scook and bitflipper are spot on (as ever) with their comments. However, just a thought .... So the OP doesnt actually specify what they are currently using to play back the orchestral midi files. If its the Microsoft GS Wavetable or TTS1 then you can definitely improve on those sounds without necessarily spending large sums of money. There are cheap/free options that may be good enough and definitely worth a try. I really like the free BBC SO Discover from Spitfire. https://www.spitfireaudio.com/bbc-symphony-orchestra-discover Steve1 point
