  1. Simple Stems is a quick and easy way to decompose any audio into itโ€™s constituent parts. The plugin uses the well established Spleeter algorithm by Deezer to deconstruct songs into 2, 4 or 5 stems. The results are stunning, though more complicated mixes and live recordings are not always perfectly decomposed. 49$, but free for a limited time https://www.stagecraftsoftware.com/products/simplestems/

  3. The best reason to get this is to use it with PluginGuru's DiscoverStation in UNIFY. And a deep dive from our own @Simeon Amburgey I wanted to put in how much this thing costs but I can't get to the Guru site for some reason.

  15. Back in the day, the founder of GoDaddy and I would have these epic online debates about advertising/marketing strategy. He was a very interesting person and a very eccentric egomaniac, but not a whole lot different than many other successful execs. But yeah, GoDaddy is a terrible choice for website hosting and a mediocre choice for managing domains.

  19. I thought the piece was pretty good. I'd have liked him to go into more detail and give specific examples, but as I was reading it I had no trouble making my own mental list of products that he could have been talking about. Are we just now entering the age of B.S. processors? Nah, we've been in it from the start. But the bad:great ratio has been getting worse as old ideas keep getting recycled, dressed up but not refined. However, I don't believe every useful plugin has already been invented. I've long felt that audio analysis could be approached the same way as any other practical numerical analyses. iZotope has been edging in that direction in recent years. Fabfilter has quietly built in advanced smart features with hardly anyone noticing. It's an area that still has a long way to go before we can call it fully played out.

But if we don't, this is the best time to get Joe Chiccarelli Vocal Strip and get a bunch more (now 33 for the price of 1) https://www.ikmultimedia.com/trgb2022

  25. 38 euros https://www.orchestraltools.com/store/collections/tallinn/instruments?utm_source=clever-reach&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=singles&utm_content=cta No joke, this was the only thing I wanted from Tallinn. It takes a lot to get me to consider any orchestral library, so it was ridiculous and impractical that I would ever get them. But these are really beautiful. I haven't been buying much since December, but suddenly there are all these little deals I am falling for. I've got this video roughly cued up to where the female choir articulations start.

  27. @Reid RosefeltI was going to post DiscoverStation for Unify info yesterday, but since the Guru site was down I didn't want to send folks there yet. And yes, DiscoverStation is amazing!!! PluginGuru has setup the library in two parts, one with his custom layered presets, and another with just the instruments from Discover, so that you can build your own layered presets. The custom presets have layers that create anything from an entire orchestra mapped across your keyboard, to ensembles, sections, pads, BPM patches (tempo synced) with Unify MIDI FX adding moving strings and percusssion, etc. You won't get that just using the Spitfire BBCSO Discover in your DAW, without setting up painstaking templates. In case you are not familiar with it, Spitfire player isn't multitimbral like Kontakt, so you would need to place an instance of each orchestral instrument in its own track. But Unify presets can do this for you!!!

  28. I'm not sure if they do an XLR equivalent, but I'd definitely avoid getting a USB based Mic when running in Windows. The reasons... 1. You can only use one ASIO driver at once, so if you're using the Rode's ASIO interface, you can't use anything else within CbB ( this is a Steinberg/Windows restriction, not a Cakewalk one). 2. Even if you could aggregate the devices to allow both of them, there's no way to sync up the word clocks, so you'd have to fix any timing issues manually. 3. You're stuck with the pre-amp that's inside the mic. I'm not saying that the Rode pre-amp is bad, but you've got no other choice but to use it. 4. You've no idea how long the USB drivers will work with the OS. An XLR mic will last decades and will never just stop working because you've upgraded to a newer OS.

  30. Okay, I've made lots of changes on this song. I think I have addressed all of your awesome critiques peeps! (I hope). The guitar squeaks are gone... I added some drums in spots. And I picked some guitar parts to add some other arpeggios. Let me know if there is more fine tuning I can make. All of your suggestions are VERY helpful! Thanks very much!

  35. Ok...the secret is that you HAVE to put the Overdrive Special in your cart and then add the coupon. Then go back and add the other amps and it will work for all of them. If you put one of the other amps in and try to use the coupon it will tell you that it doesn't apply to that item.

  38. I can't remember the last time I logged into a forum to post anything at all. It quite honestly may have been back in the the Star Wars Galaxies era. But I wanted to log in and say thank you for this response. I can't tell you how long it took me to figure out how to get snapping to work correctly just so I could speed up dragging in multiple files (hundreds of files) and getting them to line up without having to zoom in/out repeatedly. And now I can CTRL+SHIFT and drag it does it all for me! With just one sentence you have saved me countless hours of work my friend, so THANK YOU!

  40. If you really want to create/modify MIDI data programmatically, MIDICSV may be a good starting point. This converts MIDI data to a CSV file. It also includes a utility to convert CSV back to MIDI. The page contains worked examples in PERL but anything that can read a text file will work.

  42. I had about the same feeling. But the Wibu CodeMeter did even NOT install on one of my systems (I guess because my temp directory was on another drive). I re-downloaded and the same thing (something about an invalid configuration in a file on the temp, created by the installer itself)! As you said all very unprofessional! ๐Ÿ‘Ž

  46. Are license transfers even eligible for the Group Buy? I have presumably been able to use freebies in the past as I was given one for the recent synth GB. An acquaintance gave me a license out of the blue and it worked. There are people selling cheap licences that they advertise as being eligible and based on their feedback records I believe them. Oh, the ethical dilemma of it all.

  47. Thats pretty crazy when you think about it. $20 to transfer a license. It's almost as if IKM don't want you to resell their license for less than they can sell it to someone. ๐Ÿ˜‚
