  3. I was able to Claim the Perk via my iPad - neither desktop browser worked, for whatever reason. Redeemed it, and was able to add MangledVerb to my cart for $25 off. Quickly added the other 9 to the cart, and the code had been fixed to knock $2.50 off each, rather than $25... So, I've just saved myself $40, kinda. Worth noting that the Groove code knocks $25 off the full H9 Set (from $199 down to $174), which isn't a bad deal for 10 plugins, but it's not like I need them. Update: $40 successfully spent, $4 at a time...

  4. New life in an old dog. I have had the Kontakt version for eons and like it a lot. It looks like they have added a few features but the price seems high given what the Kontakt version has sold for in the past.

  12. I swear I tried that earlier and it didn't work. This time it DID! Blackhole is mine at last - AND for a fabulous deal!!!

  13. No limit on how many times you can use that deal once you link to the site from your Groove3 account. I just picked up Blackhole, Micropitch and Ultratap for $4 each.

  15. https://www.nembriniaudio.com/collections/guitar-amplifier/products/overdrive-special-guitar-amplifier Intro price: $39. Regular price: $139. Nembrini Audio Overdrive Special Guitar Amplifier plugin is based on a Overdrive Special By Dumble* schematic #124. Nembrini Audio Overdrive Special is a two channel amplifier, which includes a clean channel and an “overdrive”channel. The overdrive channel is described as “cascading” from the first channel into, at least, one additional gain stage in the overdrive channel. This means that the clean channel’s tone stack and gain stages will “cascade” into the gain stage of the overdrive channel, causing the clean channel to become “overdriven".

  16. If you are on the fence regarding Physion, there is a cool Groove3 "Eventide Physion Explained" series by Eli Krantzberg (52 minutes) that is very enlightening! https://www.groove3.com/tutorials/Eventide-Physion-Explained *free for registered Groove3 users

  17. I wonder why I get more and more bored by PA! On the other hand it is good for my wallet! Most of the new plugins and the new voucher concept don't hit my taste!

  18. If you don't have it, at least get Lisa...she's a lovely lady!

  19. Denise audio does dynamic discounting so it's generally much cheaper if you buy two or three plugins to buy it directly from them. Eg Bad Tape 2, Poltergate, Bite Harder and Dragon Fire in cart together for $76.63 https://denise.io

  20. It allowed me to add 50 items into the shopping cart before complaining that I had reached the limit. I got all the Zampler packs, bundles and books. CTRL + clicked each product page open to a new tab, went through all the tabs with CTRL + Tab and clicked the products into the cart. I made four different purchases and I was done in about 15 minutes. 😎

  21. I just updated to build 22. The in-program toast prompt for the update worked properly. The file prompt to activate on computer Help works properly. Thanks for the on computer Help. I dislike using internet Help since it continues to display a pop-up announcing the old Cakewalk site is frozen.

  26. For anyone reading, AZSlow3 updated AZController so it can move to named markers in response to a midi message (and he even provided a preset which would prevent moving to the marker if the transport was playing) - absolutely perfect! 😄

  27. Carl, There is a video out there with Hans Zimmer on how he got these sounds. The imagination that went into that sound design and the way he pushed his musicians to create sounds from their instruments is incredible. I think you are grossly over-simplifying the genius of those sounds and the sound track and I'd challenge you to get some of these sounds yourself with a softsynth of your choice. EDIT: Here's the video

  28. Thanks for the grins - I remember those days - but now... I live in Florida, no snow - schlepping gear is better than a gym membership to keep in shape I play for an adult audience, rarely past 10 PM. Lately I've been playing outdoors in the afternoon 3 or more days a week. I play in a duo, but we have had to squeeze into to some tiny spots. No need for a FOH sound man Elevators - everything is wheelchair accessible now But we jokingly tell people that we charge people to move the gear, and we play for free. Notes ♫

  29. I guess I'm lucky? I don't have to go back to Groove3. I could just buy every plugin separately, enter the same code every time and every time I got 25 off.

  30. The link has been updated. The latest EA (build 22) is also available as an in-app update (Help > Check for Updates).

  31. Lugging gear in the rain and snow. Risking your life driving home with the drunks at 2:00 AM. Showing up at the venue with a 6-piece band and discovering a stage sized for a singer-songwriter with a drum machine. Meeting your FOH guy who introduces himself as a future metal star temporarily doing sound for free beer, just until he's discovered. Stairs. I don't hate anything about playing music, though. I'd play House of the Rising Sun one more time even without that $5 tip.

  38. This is the cheapest I’ve seen any Nembrini amp sell for. I went for the Edstortion pedal instead for a total of $17.80 but anything that gets the total over $50 will work.

  39. That is absolutely absurd. Did they even try using the "sophisticated sound engine that took 8 years to develop"? Have they tried programming? Lol. Most of the sounds in that demo could be made in any softsynth without using samples. I.E. How the actual Dune score was made.

  40. Hey thanks for reminding me about the Groove3 perk! Eventide gave me $25 off for that! Got a $29 plugin for $4. Note: I didn't use the code "Groove3". I logged into my Groove3 account, redeemed my Eventide perk, and hit the "Redeem here" link. That took me to a cart in the Eventide site with the discounted price...

  43. I think about this every time I see a classic band who've had to play the same songs over and over for 40-50 years. Especially the one-hit wonders. Even though the audience eats those oldies up, it's gotta be a chore. And they're really not allowed to take too many liberties with arrangements, lest the audience turn on them. My own philosophy is that you're an entertainer, period. Your one job is to entertain. Whatever makes the audience happy should make you happy too. If you don't feel that way, stay in the garage and entertain yourself. That said, the list of songs I won't play is too long to enumerate here.

  46. Even with the speed advantage of SSDs (especially reads), a 7200 rpm HDD is perfectly fine for audio, so you can mix or match to your taste. The only real issue with SSDs is that when they go, they tend to catastrophically fail. I did have my C drive throwing odd errors and imaged that back to a larger replacement without issues. In hindsight I was lucky it didn't simply die, and I have never yet had an SSD fail. Conversely, HDDs typically give you a heads up well in advance that they are failing (often noise from excessive seeking), and are more "permanent," provided they are not near powerful magnets. I keep one HDD in the machine for data and images. All data from the other SSDs on the machine is also synced to an external HDD. Bottom line, neither are "bad," but it is good to know the pros/cons of each so you can tailor your backup strategy.
