I picked up XO (the plugin, not hugs and kisses) for $53.76 last November from Plugin Discounts. They've had lots of good XLN deals over the years. I guess you could say they're really 'xln' in that way. đ8 points

I hear they're going to start pinning a little symbol in the avatars of those who've made this mistake. A scarlet letter of sorts so that everyone can see their shame. I'm sorry, Fleer. I'll always remember the old Fleer, before this horrible mistake. We had some laughs.3 points

i'm saying no since I found out Shake Shimmer Strike was still on sale. I have so many plugins I haven't even opened up only doe authorization. I'm not a fan of subs but PA's may be the best one around. Many of us buy a plugin a month from them and that isn't much different.3 points

This a somewhat cryptic message from Windows that Cakewalk is simply passing on - it means the MIDI device is in use by another program.3 points

I played around and setup 2 CbB projects, one with 1 instance of ST4 using 6 instruments, and the other using 6 instances of ST4, each with 1 instrument. It took more memory to run 6 instances of ST4, but I had more balanced CPU core utilization that way. With only one instance of ST4 running all 6 instruments, I had a single CPU core bearing most of the work. In my experience, once a single core goes much above 50%, there is a higher risk of dropouts.3 points

In a Galaxy Far Away I wrote a song that I didn't think was all that good so I made it a video soundtrack. I guess this is a learning Davinci Resolve project more than a real video. I downloaded a bunch of clips from Pixabay and iStock and applied some fx tricks like chroma keying and blending options for interesting results. At least I think they're interesting. Well some are kind of stupid. Fun to do though. Some fx didn't blend well so don't look too close. Thanks for watching/comments. -Bjorn2 points

I knew I have too many plugins, but got a real proof today. I saw an article about some of the best vocal plugins, among them Sonnox VoxDoubler. I found out itâs only 23$ at Plugin Boutique, so I put it in my cart, and received a warning that I already bought it there!2 points

*Vague use of a pronoun. Is "you" a reference to the person who last posted to the thread? Another Cakewalk user who responded previously? Everyone who responded previously? A collective "you" referring to everyone? **"By now" seems to indicate a negative attitude or feeling, perhaps frustration, anger, annoyance, etc. Why pick up on a relatively old thread that was in fact answered early on? Just so you can vent your negativity? ***Could you be more specific? Which users? Or are you projecting the your own frustration or anger or whatever it is? *****Learning anything requires mental effort. Some things require more effort than others. "WITHOUT having to jump through hoops" seems clearly designed to attack and annoy whoever "you" is. Since I participated in this thread, YOU might even be including me in your verbal attack. I resent that!!!!!!! ADDENDUM: By any chance are you referring to this post which was made early on in the thread, in fact on the first page of the thread (3 pages ago), soon to be two years old?2 points

Harsh. But fair. You're a good man, Doug. I respect your high standards. For more forgiving souls, I'd recommend merely shunning Fleer for the next year, then, slowly, providing him the opportunity to reenter society, realizing that he has done a horrible thing that will never be forgotten, but that can serve as a lesson to all.2 points

Normally $970, now only $99 until the end of month. https://hgsounds.com/product/kontakt-collection/ I'm going to join the Serenity Group Buy (still available for $24.99: https://hgsounds.com/product/serenity-group-buy/) out of curiosity, but this has also caught my interest. That's a lot of instruments for $99, but are they worth it?2 points

Hoops are not required, nor is reading the whole topic. There is a useful search function in the top bar of the forum that will allow you to search the contents of a thread for a specific search phrase. In any case this particular topic should have been locked long ago, as the original posted question was solved, and then others added their question to it along the way. Fyi, this thread was started almost 3 years ago, and contains multiple questions and answers. So this thread has become a rather confusing mess for anyone else stumbling across it. It's not an organized FAQ, it that's what you are seeking! Cakewalk is a complex DAW, and you should start with the documentation and tutorials, to help out with the learning curve. The YouTube videos linked above from Creative Sauce would be a good place to start. Then if you have any specific questions you would like answered by the community, please start your own topic with YOUR question. đ2 points

Sorry youâre having these problems. Something from your post really stands out for me, the following; âthere is no way in hell I'm going to put this on my studio computer, luckily I still have my trusted X3 PE on the studio computer, which since I bought it some time ago, has NEVER let me down, â So youâre running CbB on a different computer to X3PE which you say is on your Studio PC Iâm having trouble understanding how you can compare the performance and stability of CbB on a completely different computer to your stable studio one where youâre running X3. Including myself, I know multiple people who run versions of Sonar in parallel to CbB on the same machine without problem. I donât need the Sonar versions except for V-Vocal Anyway there seems to be plenty of room for doubt about your conclusions. Still you should do what you think works best for you.2 points

I guess $49 is the price to beat. still. pretty good price for a mixing DAW.2 points

Only one worth the attention in this bundle is VSM-3 I could see someone using the Dynamic EQ from the bundle if you don't have that type of eq. Personally I demoed it few years back and passed.2 points

Ok, tested the following on my X5D - this should also work on the X5, X5DR and 05/RW: Combi Mode: F0 42 30 36 4E 00 00 F7 Program Mode: F0 42 30 36 4E 00 02 F7 Multi Mode: F0 42 30 36 4E 00 04 F7 As far as I can tell, changing the fourth byte (36) to 35 should work on the X2, X3 and X3R, e.g: Combi Mode: F0 42 30 35 4E 00 00 F7 Program Mode: F0 42 30 35 4E 00 02 F7 ( no Multi mode on the X2/X3/X3R ... not that you really need it... IMO combi mode is far easier to work with on all X series devices )2 points

So therefore you will have sync issues. WASAPI mode is just fine for those who only use loops and Midi but any one who needs to add vocals or live instruments needs an ASIO audio interface or they are hooped2 points

To manually add a tool to the "Utilities Menu" 1. Open RegEdit 2. Go to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\Tools Menu\ 3. Right click on "Tools Menu" and select New->Key 4. Name the key with the name of your program (e.g. Sound Forge 12 ) 5. Click on the new key you've created, and add the following string values:2 points

This sounds like a plugin that needs re-authorizing since moving to your new disk. Some plugins periodically go silent for a few seconds when they're not authorized... and they may use the disk's serial number as part of their authorization. First click the FX button on the transport module to disable all effects. If all your audio is sounding, then that's your problem. Then turn FX back on, and manually disable all of your effects, and introduce them one by one until you find the culprit.1 point

Glad to hear itâs all going well. If youâre curious about how well your system is syncing you can try a loop back test Its tricky with a mike because thereâs not direct audio route. Take a Midi drum track and freeze the instrument to create an audio track. You want a nice obvious transient spike Now create a new audio track and set the mike as input and set in record standby DONOT turn on input echo or you will get feedback place the mike 6â from the speaker and play the drum track testing the level Now record a measure Place the now time right on the original transient and zoom way in and take note of where the newly recorded tracks transient is . For my tests I used a buffer setting of 256. A lower setting will give you better results but my system canât handle lower settings on a day to day basis. Every system will be different. The tests always came out with ASIO being right on but all other drivers were late by various degrees with MME being the worst and WASAPI exclusive the closest but still off by 1/32 So if you can work at lower buffer settings the amount of off set might not even be noticed. And you can adjust for this in the sync and cashing options1 point

How strange! You should be proud because I have the feeling that you are the only one who has this happen to you. Cakewalk doesn't compare to the X3 ... in terms of stability, workflow and upgrade it's light years from the X3 ... which is somewhere in primitive antiquity. Usually posts like this come from people who don't know how to make their settings in the program. How can things work perfectly for everyone and not for you? ... how strange! ... How strange!1 point
