  2. So we have a month to finish picking our freebies, right? Pretty sure that's what's been said a few times but want to confirm now that the GB is over. Edit: Ok nevermind, found the details... Thanks everyone for a fun time around here throughout the promotion!

  3. Here's one that Tom helped me out in earlier this year. At this point I think this production is in the books, but I'm always interested in comments and appreciate the listens! Two overlapping drumkits in different time signatures, with a thick bass line, blues guitar, schmaltzy piano (thanks Tom!), spacy synths, and a few vintage movie voice clips for interest.

  6. It's officially over!! What a ride. I wasn't even gonna get in on it at all. Then I did get.in at lowest level. Then they upped the ante and I was in at the top tier!! I won't use all my freebies, but it still was the best plugin sale ever!! It's gonna be remembered on down the line as a before and after date!!! Well done IK! Well done.

  7. Count me in to the adoring crowd. As a 25 year + veteran CW user, I'm loving what you guys are doing and the amazing gift that you have bestowed on us. I don't take it for granted. Thank you so much for continuing to develop this amazing tool.

  8. Looky what I found on Facebook Marketplace. The guy had two. He also had the 6 channel 4 track version but I just needed this. His dad passed away and was selling off his stuff. McIntosh amps, tons of bass gear. Tons of midi gear. This is the first time using FB that someone didn't try to scam me. In fact he got a little pissed and thought I was scamming him. I couldn't remember how it worked and he thought I was trying to say it was broke to get it cheaper. I told him to chill the hell out and give me a second because it was 30 years since I used one. Lol. I didn't even argue in price. He only wanted $250. Anyhoo. It found a good home and Ill never part with it. It was pretty cruddy but it works perfectly and there's no wear on the drive assembly. It's almost identical to my 8 Track. It even has double speed capability which my original Portastudio 2 didn't have. Now I can transfer and play with all my masters from the 80s. It's a different unit than I used but this is a better one and the speed and heads align so it's all good. It was a good day today. 👍

  11. If I still lived in NJ, sure, there's some devil lore (and requisite pro sports team based on said lore) but now it would be more ghosts or pirates (which are actually combined for our upcoming new hockey team the "Ghost Pirates" - no lie, that's what they went with). You're welcome, happy to help. Thanks to everybody for spreading the word and for the "friendly" competition about Fred length.

  12. Anything could happen, but a big difference with the former Gibson/Cakewalk is that Cakewalk was a software company. PreSonus was exclusively a hardware electronics company from its founding in 1995 until they released the Studio One DAW in 2009. https://www.presonus.com/about/history Plus PreSonus still continue to design and produce audio hardware, so that is sure to add plenty to their financial bottom line. Unfortunately, Cakewalk could not contribute hardware sales to Gibson, so when they hit hard times... 😢

  15. Hello again! Some of you may remember a cat named Walt Collins, he used to hang out around these parts. Cerulean Sojourn. Arcanor. Anyway, he laid down some Floydian licks on this one - thanks Walt! Would very much appreciate any mix or other comments, the cake may not be baked. Thanks for your time and thoughts! or Soundcloud for the audio:

  16. We're pleased to announce Early Access for 2021.11! This is primarily a maintenance release that includes fixes for a few user reported issues. It also includes several optimizations and improvements to the behavior when using Track/Bus Solo, exclusive solo and solo override functionality, especially when used in more complex routing scenarios utilizing aux tracks and sidechains. If you have encountered any of the cases listed below, please check out this release and and confirm that your issue is resolved before we release the official public version (most likely early next week). This release cycle will be very short so only regressions or severe bugs will be considered. Please note that Early Access installers are update installers, which only update from a specific version. To install the 2021.11 Early Access build, you must be on the latest public release of 2021.09. Download Cakewalk 2021.11 EA installer Should you need to revert to the 2021.09 release, you can download the Cakewalk 2021.09 Rollback installer. If you haven't already done so, please read about the Early Access Program before participating. Please keep responses specific to problems or comments on this release. Unrelated bugs or feature requests should be posted in other threads or the feature request channel. Thanks again for your participation! The Bakers Updated to 27.11.0.010 This contains the following additional improvements: Soloing a bus now includes any sidechain sends to plugins in tracks/buses Improvements to plugin silence flushing Solo, Exclusive Solo and Solo Override improvements The internals for track and bus solo have been greatly improved to handle more complex routing scenarios with tracks and buses routing or sending to aux tracks and side chains. Prior to this release there were scenarios where soloing intermediate tracks or buses would not solo all the parts of the signal flow. Additionally, solo override now works consistently with aux tracks and tracks containing active sidechains. Dim solo has also been made aware of the solo override state and works consistently. Issues Resolved in Cakewalk 2021.11 EA (build 27.11.0.010): Solo: Soloing a bus silences any sidechain sends to plugins in tracks/buses unless sending tracks are soloed Switching exclusive solo between aux tracks can cause the solo state to get out of sync Regression: Exclusive Solo Mode not working after unsoloing track Regression: Exclusive Solo "solo override" fails to work properly Solo Override does not behave as expected on Aux tracks or buses Solo Override does not behave as expected with Dim Solo Sidechain fails to trigger when soloing bus Soloing buses without an input streams audio not sent to bus Soloing a track with a send to an aux would not make the aux audible Export: Melodyne used as track effect hangs on export audio Some Mix Enables check boxes too large for dialog Duplicate filenames warning appears whenever using {taskname} tag Export Audio dialog not clearing/restoring exclusive solo / track solo override status Export Audio: "Use same settings for all" option not appearing for "Tracks through entire mix" Export audio directory should be deleted if not used, and only created for cwp projects Misc.: Preferences dialog categories illegible in High Contrast mode in Windows CTRL+SHIFT drag import of MIDI causes clips to overlap unexpectedly Step Sequencer clip fails to loop in user project Articulations ignored when scrubbing in Piano Roll view Piano Roll scrub stops working after using Clips scrub Add StickyFileExportNotification registry setting Softube plugins throwing error on scan and writing null CSLID to inventory Clean audio folder suggests deleting files in default export audio folder Disable project auto-save while File Export/Bounce to Track(s) dialogs are open

  19. In today's Youtube vid I discuss my new FREE Acoustic Guitar Plucks instrument. I sampled my beloved Froggy Bottom Acoustic guitar, plucking each string with my fingernail for a short, percussive sound full of tone. Multiple velocity layers and round robins make it sound authentic and expressive. Recorded with a Coles 4038, Neumann KM84 and Custom U47. Kontakt 6 (full paid version required) and Decent Sampler versions included in download. - Jon https://jonmeyer.selz.com/item/acoustic-guitar-plucks

  23. If you are into vintage synth, I would start with anything by Nori Ubukata, especially the "Synth Giants 1-4" series. Followed by Big Tone's "Analog Basics Series 1 & 2". If you want to explore the wavetable capability of SM 2, don't miss "Tableworks 1 & 2" from Big Tone. There are also many banks aimed at Pop and EDM genres, if you are into that.

  27. We'll definitely be reminding people that they should register that hardware as soon as they receive it! Also, hopefully some people realize that they technically could still purchase qualifying hardware in an actual store (like the Guitar Center opening in my backyard - Savannah, GA - this week) if they want to squeak in.

  32. Not to be harsh, but that copy, "A FUTURISTIC PLUGIN WITH REVOLUTIONARY SOUNDS," "push the boundaries of synthesis" and "marvelous futuristic-looking user interface" --- seriously? Did someone grab a time machine, because it looks like that copy was written in the 50s. All they need to add is, "amazing space age technology" and some really awkward made up names like "featuring our exclusive supertronalistic technology!" Also, I listened t to the demos. SPOILER: It's not even remotely revolutionary, it sounds like it's from twenty years ago. Has anyone heard of that dev before? I admit, I saw the word "Tron" and clicked. I love trons. This isn't a tron, but appears to be a rompler with some effects. Space age effects, of course.

  41. @DeeringAmps Hey Tom . . . these are great and helpful comments, no offense taken . . . I've fired (retired) my robot bass player . . . the new guy swings maybe a little too much, but what do I know ? This song is a little different than what I usually do, and this genre certainly needs to swing more, now that you mentioned it. @PhonoBrainer . . . thanks for the suggestion to lose the 1,2,3,4 rhythm guitar, and bumping the vocal up, I'm working on that right now. Anyways, I'll upload a new mix later today . . . thank you all so much for your time and ears !
