  2. Hi folks, Thanks for all your feedback. There have been a few reports of record sync, some crashes on load and a few other cases. [Updated to fix punch record issue] Here is a new build 147 that should resolve these issues. We'd appreciate you trying this build if you are affected by any of these problems. Issues resolved: Recorded audio clips placed late on timeline by the ASIO record latency New Preferences | File | initialization file setting to control the sensitivity for error detection. 2020.01 has stricter error checking and as a result some projects with plugin's that internally cause errors errors may not open. You can work around this by adding the option ExceptionHandlingSeverity and set it to a value of 5. After restarting the application this may allow projects that crashed to open. (assuming they opened in a prior version) To go back to the default setting, delete this value (the actual default value is currently 7) Staff View not updating after nudging nodes Loading pre Tempo Track projects by default will not attempt to create envelope shapes from the tempo map. Track View no longer visible in Keyboard Shortcut category dropdown PRV Aim Assist line slightly off when left is scrolled beyond zero Tempo Node delete can delete selected clips

  3. Hi Folks, Here is a new build that fixes the remaining sync issue with punch recording. Please try it and report back. If you can please test cases with normal record, loop record, punch record. With punch record also test combining it with loop record and try variations where the loop region intersects or fully encloses the punch region. Lots of permutations to test @Base 57 @David Baay @DeeringAmps @John Vere@giovannibuchelli

  4. A tempo track is a standard feature in most modern DAW's. Can you explain what you are trying to do? The tempo inspector allows you to work in pretty much the same way as you would in the old tempo view.

  5. @Noel Borthwick I've already received answer from u-he (they are really quick). They're preparing a new version of Presswerk that should solve these issues. I'm going to test their new non-public beta build today evening with Cakewalk, so I'll let know both them and here.

Get the recently released Nonlinear Filter from Kilohearts for just $9.50 (reg. $19) using the code: DirtyAPG https://kilohearts.com/products/nonlinear_filter If you're new to the Kilohearts Ecosystem then note that you can also get Snap Heap and a handful of other effects plugins for free (licences added automatically when you create an account). All Kilohearts effects can be used individually (VST/AAX/AU) or combined as Snapins in their modular hosts (such as Snap Heap (which is FREE!)) to build your own unique modular effects. Neat stuff! 8. If all you have is jumps, then essentially they are the same in that the tempo at any point in the timeline will match. That doesn't necessarily mean however, there is the same amount of tempo entries in the tempo map as there is in the tempo list (although if they indeed ALL jumps, then it's likely they will be the same). 1. If you created a bunch of nodes all at 120bpm in your envelope, there would only be one entry of 120bpm in the tempo map (the first one) as there are no changes in tempo. For the most part, only tempo changes are written back to the tempo map. 2. When you create a curve or a line from one tempo value to another, individual tempo jumps are inserted into the tempo map to reflect the changes in tempo over the course of the shape (in a similar way to how it looked before if you were to draw a line or curve in the old tempo view). The resolution of the tempo changes is governed by the TempoMapDecimationResolution initialization variable (defaults to a 16th note). What you see in the tempo inspector is the start and end tempo, and the curve type. What is in the tempo map, is lots of individual tempo changes. However... the above is only true when you edit the tempos inside the inspector/tempo track, or use "Insert Tempo Change" or "Insert Series of Tempos" commands. In these cases, you're working on the tempo track envelope and the tempo map is then rebuilt from that envelope. If you're using "Set Measure/Beat at Now", or using any of the tempo extraction methods (e.g. dragging a clip to the timeline, extracting the tempo using audio-snap, or using "Fit to Improvisation"), then the reverse is true: those commands work on the tempo map first (like they always did), and rebuilds the tempo track envelope from the tempo map. Given the above, if you're using "Set Measure/Beat at Now" then it's important not to edit the tempo yourself between setting measure/beats - just continue setting the beats and trust it to do its job.

  11. There is just something about Kilohearts that I am really liking lately. I don't own a lot of them and I find the UIs are a little underwhelming for the most part, but the no nonsense and efficient installer - same with their website, the modular Snapin thingy is cool (haven't really used it yet but...). I just used One for the first time on a track the other day. I pulled it up, went through the very well labelled and laid out Presets, found one, did a little tweaking, played the part, then moved on. Plus Phaseplant is one of my favorite plugin names ever. Don't own it yet, but maybe someday. AND very reasonable prices too! Anyway... 🙂

  13. I have a saved project named "Manual Offset Test" (of all things). It has one track with a recorded click that is routed out through the board and into another track with record enabled. So all I have to do is load the project and hit the record button. After I have everything lined up I delete the clips from the second track and save the project so it is ready for the next time. Impressed hardly covers it. I am amazed. I would believe Jesse that Noel is an AI-Hybrid but a machine would not care that much.

  14. @Noel Borthwick isn't actually human. He is in fact an AI hybrid - kinda like a deep fake with an adaptive fuzzy logic filter to make him seem more human. The question is, who maintains Noel's codebase?

  16. Analog Lab 4 and 5 are combined into one license in Arturia Software Center. The upgrade to 5 was free and automatic. You can install both versions side-by-side, and sort out which one works best for you. Note: Arturia did change some of the macro control knob assignments in v5 to be more 'better' with the new v5 presets, so if you are expecting to find the macros as they were in v4, you may want to stick with v4 if you are dependent on legacy presets.

  28. After seeing both you and Tom report that punches are early vs. my experience that they're late, I did another test with punch-in starting later in the timeline instead of at 1:01:000 as I had done initially, and got the same 'early' punch result as you. Will need to verify both cases work correctly when Noel gives us another update.

  31. Agree and in addition I think it brings much hope for many more and exciting uses in the future. This probably belongs to the feature request forum but can we MIDI learn the Tap Tempo? Also there is some king of reset missing when you'd want to start tapping a new tempo.

  34. Do your projects contain lots of automation? Under “High resolution plug-in automation improvements” it mentions that “Plug-in automation envelopes were previously being decimated at a uniform 50 msec interval” This has been changed to 5 milliseconds The decimation interval can be changed via the audio configuration (Preferences | Audio | configuration File) property AutomationDecimationMsec (2-30) in preferences.

  35. Colin . . . nice to see you here, you usually haunt those other Cakewalk forums . When you mention "Simple Minds" band, I definitely hear that in your vocals, and they are very well done . . . but would like to have the vocals more upfront in places, especially in the beginning . . . by the chorus it's more upfront. It's a great track you've done here, seems Simple Minds may have been ahead of the curve.

  37. It may be a corrupted image file. To redraw the image: right-click the clip area in the track view to open the context menu, select "Associated Audio Files" at the bottom of the menu, click the "Recompute Picture(s)" button in the Associated Audio Files dialog. Or Delete all the files in the Picture folder. This will clear all the images for all projects. Sometimes a good idea, if one has experienced drawing problems or repeated program crashes. Images will be recreated when projects are loaded.

  38. Hi guys, thanks for reporting this. I've identified the change that caused this and will fix it. Its caused because the latency offset is actually being applied twice in this case because of some obfuscated code that was doing this unexpectedly! I'll post a fix for you to test shortly.

  39. I imagine the EXBass MIDI will "work" with any EZBass model but would most likely not be as useful/meaningful if not used with the proper model (i.e. fretless).
