It's only offering me an extra $100 off. So I did the spreadsheet work up. I'm only missing 7 things (ARC System 3, three Hitmaker Sampletank libraries, Mixbox, Sunset Reverb and the Space Delay). While the full retail price of those is $699.93, if you percent that against the full retail "total price" ($10742.96) and then compare it to the normal full price of TS3 with no discount at all ($899.99) I figure my upgrade cost should be around ~$59. So $399 seems a bit much. I really wish they just had some sort of complete my bundle deal, with an honest custom price based on my account. This is the problem with bundles and trying to maintain price value points. If any of those things I don't have were that big a deal, I would have bought them already though, so I guess I'm sitting this one out.

Based on a hint Peter put into his Total Studio announcement in VI:Control, I put Total Studio 3 in my cart. An additional $200 off! I believe that is because I'm a TS2 owner. But he said "qualifying IK products." So, in my opinion, no matter what you own, you have nothing to lose by putting TS3 into your cart to see if you get a discount. For me $300 minus Jampoints is a very tempting deal for all that stuff. 😀 I haven't bought a single thing that came out from IK after TS2. The only new stuff I don't have are the freebies. I don't even have Syntronik Deluxe yet! I don't want to get everybody mad at me, but this is the kind of thing we might find out here, if we didn't start by screaming at Peter, who happens to be a very nice guy who has zero to do with the IK business practices. He just comes here to answer our questions. And yesterday he said, "wait until tomorrow."

The deals forum is and has always been optional. You can buy or not. It is OK to express an opinion about the product being posted but as with all other forums here attacking persons is not allowed. I think the problem is if you got stuff from IK in group buys then Total Studio isn't a great deal. Nothing wrong with that. If you're not in a rush, wait for the super sale on Total Studio that we all know will be coming at future point in time I will add that I am one of the crowd that really likes ST4-max.

Being able to use Jampoints would definitely be an additional incentive, but of course, that's never going to happen, and neither will a $199 Price point any time soon...

You do get a lot of people complaining that the upgrade price to Komplete 13 is the same from Komplete 12 as it is from version 2, which came out around 20 years ago. Of course this argument ignores that the people who upgraded at various points along the way have benefitted from the upgrades they have paid for along the way. For me, the cost of upgrading individual Amplitube products is less than that of upgrading to Amplitube 5 Max. That's not something I'm overly happy with, but there's nothing special about being a MAX owner. What I don't understand is the obsession of upgrade pricing when their download policy is so clearly unacceptable.

Yes we do like Pete...but this is really the first time that he has "crossed over", and I assume that's because he played some part in what they are doing, and feels offended. Nevertheless, as a Sales Rep, he should be "biting his tongue". And REALLY, he should be taking legitimate customer complaints back to the Office, but instead, and quite oddly I might add, has chosen a "retaliatory" position, which is really not wise. Despite that, he's still always welcome here! That being said: To clarify AGAIN, I personally stated VERY SPECIFICALLY that my remarks about IK's DUMBNESS were not directed at Pete, Pete has always been helpful, and usually very diplomatic, but this seems to "really bother him", and most likely because he SEES the problem here clearly, with what they have done to themselves now that it's been "pointed out", and feels it necessary to "mount a defense" of both himself and the company. All things considered, this is the WORST PRODUCT ROLLOUT/LAUNCH ever by any company that I can remember, and I go a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG ways back! There was no "pre-order pricing", no advance notice whatsoever, no "intro pricing" when the product was released and posted on the site, and people had to WAIT a day to find out about a "bonus discount" that really wasn't a discount at all, but rather a "re-writing" of the price structure, basically amounting to the ELIMINATIION of the TS Max to TS Max Upgrade path, in favor of just a "Maxgrade", which AGAIN bones the Total Studio Max customers, in favor of those who just own "any" single Max product. As I stated, all that they have done to themselves is to eliminate any reason to buy any "individual products", because they don't "mean anything" in the grand scheme of things! Just wait for a new Total Studio Package and save yourself a LOT of TIME and MONEY!

Yes Pete please don't leave I brought most of the IK stuff and the price for me isn't worth the value. So be it. The value I got from ST4 max was worth the upgrade price. Now how about some more Orchestra type sound add-on packs please.

To me iLoud MTM Pair + Total Studio 3 MAX Bundle seems like a solid deal. MTMs with two measuring mics, AT5 and ARC3 and Hammond and, maybe, TR5Max for that price is still a little too steep, but with Jam Points it's tempting. I don't really care for other products in the bundle, as I find them not worth the disk space. And then, again, I still have AT4, ARC2, nice Hammond VSTis and almost complete TR5 as well as a pair of good monitors. So shelling out almost a thousand Euro for an alternate take of what I already have... Sorry, IK, no soup for you.

There just isn't enough in this that is worth the $300. I already have Total Studio 2 MAX and cross graded to SampleTank 4 MAX. I guess I can't be disappointed. I basically already own 80% of this, already. And probably 200% of what I'd actually care about. If you have TS2 MAX and ST 4 MAX< you already have "most of the stuff" in this, because they didn't really add much. They just upgraded the version of SampleTank and added a few products/expansions they've released since then. TS2M owners already have AmpliTube 5 SE with all of the 4 MAX content unlocked, so that is not really a big upgrade to me. That being said, I do use Windows 10, so it's not like Apple will obsolete my software with the next macOS release... and I have everything I need from them; so I don't foresee myself wanting to buy anything else form them in the foreseeable future. Frankly, I think their products waste inordinate amounts of SSD space, anyways... and I hate that you cannot uninstall specific components without wiping out the entire thing and reinstalling only the parts you want. If I got this, I'd be edging towards needing to buy a 2TB SSD, so the cost is basically the upgrade price + the SSD upgrade cost, effectively.

And, to get us back on track:

A complete my bundle like fabfilter uses or similar would put all these bad feelings and locked threads to rest. Seems like an easy fix.

You're referring specifically to this part? I don't know the answer to why Cakewalk, Cubase, Logic Pro, and Studio One do not have this ability, while Ableton, FLStudio, ProTools, and Reaper do. I don't know if this achieves the same result, but in Cakewalk you could SEND the audio track to two separate aux tracks or busses, and put an instance of PEEL on each, and invert the filtering on one of the PEEL instances. (FYI, I couldn't get the VST3 version of PEEL to work at all, but the VST2 one did.)
