Just be careful so you don't get a VST from this.5 points

So, where to start then? I suppose a couple of stills would be nice first Not sure how this will display here as it is a large picture that I uploaded to my deviantart account (which I don't use that much to be honest):- That's a kind of random thing and was typical of what I created when I jumped in at the start. After a while I tried to create stuff that is a bit more sort of geometric and not so random:- The two above are not post-edited and the border effect was created within Chaotica. There's more, of course, but I'll leave it there for now cheers andy4 points

I was about to buy both SPL Iron and Metric A/B when everything was $29.99, but then I thought: "Well, I don't really need them right this second, and they'll probably be on sale at some point where I might have a $25 voucher I can use, too." I'm happy that things went as planned for once. Still bummed that I forgot to use that February voucher during the sale, though.3 points

That's insane. I'm not affected and I doubt many people would be, but people paid for these products. It's not right that they shouldn't be able to activate them after a certain date because a company decides they don't want to support those activations anymore. Make it right and release offline versions of them or something. Native Instruments have such rubbish customer-unfriendly policies.3 points

I found this song on a floppy disk (how quaint) for my Yamaha PSR-SQ16, it dates from the late 90s. Nothing like anything I'd normally do but reasonably interesting I think. https://www.bandlab.com/wilbyforce/sq-16-6589e35f?revId=3f88800b-1c61-ea11-a94c-0003ffd1cad82 points

I was disappointed to learn that VST3 must be installed to a certain path: I try to keep my C drive for Windows and program files only. Regardless I ended up just going to the install location, moving the contents to another drive, and then creating a symlink in it's place; it's working well for me so far. For anyone interested and on Windows, look up the command mklink2 points

While I like how it sounds for me deal breaker was incompatibility with their own product - slate trigger. If you buy extension of a given producer for SDD5 you still need to buy extension for the same guy for Trigger... This is what I love in AD2. When you own an extension for AD2 you also can use it in Addictive Trigger. No additional buy needed. I dropped an email to SSD about it but they kindly thanked me. So it seems they believe in their path... Well, I am out for sure for double buy... Their choice. I would buy it otherwise when there was a nice promo some time ago...2 points

Free edition is worth it, coz it's free. But here if you don't find the cymbals amazing (they aren't) there is no use in buying full edition.2 points

No....I don't even put this in the same ballpark as EZDrummer...let alone SD3... great sounds with a crap product are still a crap product IMO2 points

One thing to consider is changing the default PC in tracks and buses to contain only the PCEQ. The default is set by right clicking in the PC. The tracks/buses in templates and exiting projects will have to cleaned up separately.2 points

And THAT is why I refuse to buy anything that requires permission from the maker to be used. This is ridiculous! R2 points

hey wook! i knew what you meant, sorry for the confusion. you still rock even with all that hair. 😁 hi bjorn, glad you checked this one out then! i think i WILL take your suggestion, and do more of these! thanks for the comment hey daryl! thanks for listening, man, and the panning... you know, deciding how hard to pan things, and when to bring them in and out, has become 'active arrangements' to me, i've not been doing things this way for very long so i hope i'm getting it!2 points

That would be a negative Capt. . I just don't have the time to go through all these instruments (although I'd like to) and find a use for them. I just liked the sound of the Morin Khuur after listening to this Mongolian band and wanted the Vsti.2 points

I still have my original Kompakt version of EWSQL Symphonic Orchestra Silver, which has continued to work all these years...so hopefully I'll still be able to authorize it with my serial #, because it didn't require internet when it was purchased, despite this development2 points

You're like the Bob Ross of pianists. Now I want this. I'm sort of in the market for a good piano. The best piano I have now is The Grandeur. @Simeon Amburgey what's the best piano vst you've tried?2 points

This started out as an attempt to write something Latin-ish but wound up sounding like the theme song for a cheap spy movie. So, if Latin spy-movie themes are your thing, this might appeal to you. I'm more or less happy with the parts and arrangement but completely unsure about everything else. Suggestions etc. are welcome. https://soundcloud.com/geeare1/eye-contact1 point

I just downloaded the demo; didn't realise at first that it renders forever, and that you stop it when you think its good enough. From playing around with it, it looks like there's scope for a really wide range of images. With enough experience, is there a way to know what you're going to end up with when you add new transforms, etc? or is it like how I approach FM syntheses (i.e. hmm... what does turning this dial do? oh, that sounds cool...)1 point

Sure, we can do many things manually and by ourselves, Carlos But - call me lazy and spoiled guy - I believe I have computer to do work instead of me not forcing me to do anything instead of it So every workflow issue, lazy design I consider as not-finished-job by creators (or job bad done No matter it is related to plugin, OS, DAW, WWW browser or whatever...1 point

I want to go back to stand alone digital recorders that you can hook a mouse and keyboard up to it, and a monitor, get rid of Mac or PC out of the equation. Roland VS series recorders were fantastic, hell a few hit records were recorded exclusively on a VS880 !. The trouble is, the more options you have, the less you do, ask me how I know... :=/. The company that makes a stand alone device with great preamps built in effects.. oh wait... Wing?... LOL..1 point

Behringer gets a lot of flack for their past business practices (much of which is deserved). In the past decade, Behringer has absorbed some good companies, technology, and personnel (TC Electronic, Klark Teknic, Midas, etc). These days, Behringer is releasing original designs like the X32 series, Wing, etc... that are feature-packed decent quality pieces of gear. The Klark Teknic 1176 and LA-2A clones are both excellent (especially given the low cost). If you play live, the X32 series is used by many commercial sound companies. Was at a venue this past Friday night... and the FOH console was an X32. There's a trend recently to develop your own DAW application (UA, Behringer, Presonus, etc). Unless you're 101% committed, it's re-inventing the wheel. It's like trying to compete with Kontakt. It can be done, but it's a herculean task. Even if successful, it'll take years to catch-up to the competition. Behringer has the resources to develop a new DAW application, but is that the best use of their time/resources? They're admitting up front, that it's going to take a long while (18-months) for initial release. How long before it's able to compete head-to-head with the best DAW applications? From watching other DAW applications over the past 30 years, you're talking 4-5 years of sustained/committed development.1 point
